  • this movie gave m intense nighmares when i was like 6

  • Looking back, this is pretty dark for a kid's movie

But I still love it, especially this song

  • I haven't seen this in over a decade but it's still deeply upsetting for some reason..

  • it's like soylent green but for cars

  • I love that tv guy

  • Such a great movie

  • Can you guys help me a bit? There is a similar cartoon probably as old as this (if not more) where a little abandoned car wanders off to finds its owner. The cartoon shows the car travelling through city at night feeling scared and hassled by other cars newer and stronger. The cars had voices like appliances do here. Saw it on TV when I was kid and do not recall the title. Does it ring a bell to anyone? Thanks.

  • @jojos08 I think it's called Cars?

  • @dvstN I think I found it although my first impression is that this is not exactly what I watched, anyhow here it is:

    Susie the little blue coupe.

    youtube watch?v=7pxap-M_--k

  • 5:15 One of the many reasons why I adore this movie. :]

  • Favorite song from this movie by far. Nostalgia bomb to say the least.

  • @EpicRingtones They look like pictures of samba!

  • i love this movie to death

  • Very nice. Many thanks for posting the lyrics as well.

  • Maybe there's a reason for this to never have been showed in Norway. ^^,

  • I want to assume they all sing their part every day that magnet goes on. Which makes it even more depressing.

  • holy crap this is a dark song for a kids movie! is this supposed to be a WWII metaphor or something? thats what it feels like. seriously, replace the cars with jews and the big machinery with nazis and tell me your pants arent a few pounds heavier. or maybe it was a rough draft for the music video for "the wall". or maybe the cars that got crushed into cubes are supposed to be soilant. no matter how you look at it this sequence is pretty terrifying

  • So this is where the Lemons took Leland Turbo prior to the begining of cars 2

  • Inspiration of Hoarders

  • i recently watched this movie again, and I bawled my eyes out.

  • @patriotails during this song

  • This song is pretty upbeat for being infamously nightmare fuelish!

  • @MrChippy3 PFFFHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! XD

  • i love how this came up when i typed in "awesome song"

  • lmao..

  • Why did the last cars owner say "Your worthless" I don't get it

  • @shaneseks It could have referred to a bunch of things. I hate this to be my first conclusion, maybe the owner was referring to himself being worthless then committed suicide using the car somehow.

  • @shaneseks Oh also I guess I got the whole suicide thing because it was like "He was HAPPY UNTIL (insert bouts of depression)?" Maybe I'm overanalyzing haha, but it's interesting to analyze stuff in movies

  • So the wedding car got into a car crash when the groom changed his mind about the wedding. Then died and was carried in the hearse that also got into a car crash. WOW

  • @shaneseks Either that or I think someone mentioned something that the hearse and the wedding car crashed, taking the driver (lonely) man "to a graveyard" essentially killing him during the crash. (Shown by the wedding car and hearse being smashed together)

  • wicked bass line

  • This is a very weird movie but it was great. Definitely one of my favorites kids' flicks. :)

  • from what i have read the voice of The Hearse is really the voice of Michael Jackson

  • dear god. this is terrifying.

  • That giant magnet thing looks like he'd be an enemy in a Mega Man game.

  • 5:25, Is that a Suicide Reference in a kid's movie?!

  • @121jakethesnake It's called reality. Not fucking Teletubies. Your kids will mature at a much slower rate if they're coddled their whole lives.

  • @mikerules999 I'm 18 so I don't have any kids. Second of all, I wasn't complaining about that I was just like, man that's heavy! But at least kids won't really get what he's saying. Actually, I love this movie for its dark tone and I agree that kids should be exposed to tougher movies and tv shows but not to the point that they're scarred for life.

  • At 4:10, look at the word emporium...wait until he steps in front of it and then falls over...see the difference?

  • @AmanD5001 wow that's one continuity error... if it stayed upside down it would've been really funny.

  • @bennitori4 It's not a continuity error. He notices that he put the word upside-down and quickly turns it.

  • Why can't movies have songs like this nowadays?

  • I wounder how many people became horders because of this movie.

  • @jordanpasek That's worth some actual scientific study. Someone should do a thesis on the correlation.

  • @jordanpasek LOL .

  • @jordanpasek i know its late but raises hand

  • This song had to be cut from Cars because Mater screamed all the way through it

  • I always hates this part when I was little

  • This song was singularly responsible for my 3 year old existential crisis.

  • @redice1024 How did you get your name? I was a n00b when I got an account, so I stocked up on Worthless! Gabe Newell information, and that was when I started, I was 1000NoobTube. I don't know what happened with 1-3, 4 was of information I wanted gone, 5 was because ClementJ642 blocked me over a misunderstanding, so here I am! And you?

  • I must confess... as a kid, Ive always rooted for that crushing thingy.... and still do. :P

  • This song is so catchy... it's a shame it made me ponder mortality and the fact that we're all going to grow old one day...

  • sMOSH brought me here

  • E.T. car at 1:54 !!!

    LOL

  • I really like this! Disney somehow has a major lesson or major deep subject matter in most it's animated films. This is clearly about consumerism, people mostly wanting the new and most of the times treat the old items that were once new like worthless things. Sometimes the old items are better made then new ones.

  • @LovetheRainbow Very likely true :) I love the brave little toaster series :) ive always loved them as a kid they're wonderful ^_^ The new movies now a days im not even watching or buying except the princess and the frog and tangled. the oldies were the best and now its completely out of hand -_-'' some of them are still good though, just not AS good.

  • 44 people just can't seem to get started

  • This is how most of the cars on the street look like where I come from

  • I mean it is a good lesson, just a little much for kids

  • @spongebobslushpants1

They have to learn the truth eventually.

  • This is a sick film.

  • This part scared me so much...it made me so sad. This shouldn't be in a kid's movie

  • 44 people are worthless

  • i typed up awsome songs and this is what i get!?

  • love this

  • you know looking back at this movie.... it's fucking creepy

  • i just love that orange race car!

  • For an animated children's film, The Brave Little Toaster sure covered some awfully serious existential subject matter. Unrequited love, loyalty, the value of sentimentality, the inevitability of mortality.

  • @CrazyRockwell so true.

  • That guy.. on the tv.. reminds me of La Feu. From Beauty and The Beast.

  • @XxHikariKyaaxX I'm not really goof at remember names, but isn't this rather "Le fou"?

Actually in my lagnuage it look like that... I just want to know ^^

  • @ZazouSpyro505 When I see a typo I look at my keyboard and see how close the missef letter is to the typo.

  • after this movie my family named the mini van.

  • this is actually a great song on its own

  • both top comments made me laugh so hard i droold everywhere

  • for some reason the toaster reminds me of super meat boy

  • I laughed, I cried, I was a kid. Well, I grew up and not much has changed.

  • Seriously, who's operating that crane?

  • @TheKatamariguy no one knows, it's probably automated.

  • reminds me of me as a little kid i loved this movie

  • leave it to disney to put inanimate objects to their death

  • Pixar clearly loved this movie.

  • 44 People are worthless. :/

  • This movie is amazing. In my opinion, each of the car represents something in a way.

Light Blue Car- Feels pressured by life, wants it to end.

Pink Car- Can't "get started" and enjoy life anymore, and wants it to end.

Surfer Car and Sports Car- Both cars had good lives, but are afraid to die. The Sports Car is seen trying to escape by turning his steering wheel.

Racecar- Did great things, but died without fulfilling his dreams, pondering "how close came."

  • @DragonXela Continuing on...

Texas Car and Hearse: I think these two are connected- they both mention a man, and the Texan Car says that he was a lonely man, and the Hearse immediately after say he was taken to a graveyard. I think the reason they were together is that it was the same man, who killed himself.

Last Car: Same as everyone else- this car has seen so much and lost the love his old owners, and willingly drives himself onto the belt, committing suicide.

    A dark, but brilliant movie.

  • anyone know wat year this was made? plz respond.

  • brings back the BEST memories of my childhood. i love this movie . i hope someday my children willsee this. such a wondderful movie with a powerful point. :')

  • ironic they smashed together a car that took a man to his wedding with a car that took a man to his grave

  • @VictorVonFox not really

  • @Roflcopter11ty7 theres alot of things ironic about it. to many to list in under 500 words :)

  • great movie for little kids O_O

  • 4:22. LOL he sounds like Bill Gates.

  • I haven't seen this show in years

  • wish their were dark kid movies nowadays. wtf is this wiggles shit? if kids dont get scared they will be pussies later on!

  • @ILikeToShootZombies Dude, the wiggles were on when I was a kid, and I'm 25...

  • @ILikeToShootZombies Ahem. Toy Story 3. Thank you.

  • my daugther watches this and she's only 14 months old...she is already a cartoon freak...way better then barney ick...

  • good old times...

  • This was my favorite movie as a child :)

  • This is my childhood <3 !

  • This is my childhood <3

  • I love this movie soooo muuchh. ♥

  • Ich heiße ThebraveLink und wenn ich thebraveli eingeb dann kommt thebravelittletoaster lol

  • Wow i never put the two together untill now The two cars who were crushed together. One mentioned they took a man to a wedding, but implied the man committed suicide because of loneliness. Then the second car implied he took the same man to his funeral. That's just down right dark.

  • man if i ever get a car of my own i 'm never going to send it to the junk yard. if its badly damaged, i might use its parts as art.

  • I must admit these cars have amazing singing voices.

  • I love the radio

  • great or small at the end everyone goes to the same place

  • who the hell would get rid of a talking car

  • thumbs up if you realize the crusher looks like a face

  • We all come from different backgrounds and experiences, but in the end everyone dies.

  • Imagine if this is how Cars ended with the cars that wrecked...

  • This movie made me afraid of toasters and vacuums

  • 3:27 - 3:47 Thumbs up if you think that they were talking about the same person!

  • @UnknownLX

"I get my kicks on route 66" is originally a song written and performed by Nat King Cole.

  • this song made me sad when i was a kid :(

  • They just don't make cartoon movies like this anymore :(. Was a goodie.

  • this song gave me nightmares when I was a kid

  • @FSUmadFratter this song still gives me nightmares

  • I love the TV trying to convince 'em

  • We give our cars and boays to charity

  • The sound crew really made some authentic compactor and crushed metal noises.

  • Who else was traumatized by this as a kid? XD Every time my mom talked about getting rid of the car I thought of this and would cry lol Love the song though.

  • @sakurai126 Absolutely 100% scared the crap out of me. Cars going to their very violent, metal-crunching deaths. This scene gave me nightmares.

  • Haha I was looking up Worthless evening by Henley and decided to click on this instead!

  • BEST DISNEY SONG EVER!!!!!! :')

  • @TheStar512 I don't understand. What's the best Disney song ever?

  • I still remember watching this movie when I was 3 or 4 <3

  • anyone notice that the machine got eyes?

  • @california662 I know right? I wonder how the crusher feels...

  • Aaaaawww.... I loved this movie when I wuz younger. I need to watch it!

  • this song has alot of dark and deep meaning behind it, its a treat to watch this again mature enough to see under the surface

  • man, this song is amazing...

as a kid it invoked so much emotion...

  • i think its funny when the pink car says I just cant i just cant i just cant seem to get started. Because shes mimicking a car trying to start up! XD

Although i dont understand what the Texan one means :/

  • @vinemon she brought the texan to a wedding but it implies that he commit suicide and the hearse took him to the grave yard

  • @darkninjafirefox Oh my gosh! Really? But how is it implied though?

  • @vinemon well it says that he was letting his loneliness get to him and the Texan and the Hearse were crushed together

  • @darkninjafirefox Ahh that makes sense.

    Thats pretty messed up~

  • favorite scene as a little 5 year old...

  • i watched this when i was 5

  • I didn't need a nostalgia critic to get here...no critic and critique my nostalgia!

  • This is one hell of a showstopper

  • @Meq7q lol

  • @cellphonesrock76 I mean it.

  • @Meq7q it is

  • One of the favourite animated films from my childhood, this song was scaring me a bit

  • Am I the only one who thinks this sounds like Meatloaf???

  • Sweet lord, the sheer levels of resignation in these cars. They know they're not going anywhere. This is the end of the road. There's absolutely nothing they can do about it. Hell, the last one even preempts the magnet and pitches himself onto the conveyor belt... He's a car that just wants it to all end. Machines that are utterly run down, obsolete, and, as the song says, worthless...and they all know it.

A pretty chilling idea in a world of sentient appliances.

    Absolutely great song.

  • Easily the best song in the movie.

  • I haven't seen this movie in FOREVER! I used to have it on video but I don't know what happened to it! I looked and looked but could not find it! I also really frickin' love this song! Thanks for posting this! =P

  • this song is one of my favorites from this movie.

  • This movie deals with some real stuff. People say Bambie is sad but it's not. Death is easy to explain to kids "living things die just like your grandpa and hamster but life goes on." Try explaining this stuff to kids "life can be depressing and pass you by, sometimes you're only left with regret and pain and you die alone. There's nothing you can do about it." Nobody can explain that to kids cuz they can't deal with it themselves.

  • @KnivesnForks That's some deep shit. Kudos.

  • lolwut? i looked up awesome songs on youtube and this came up xD and i actually remember this from the little toaster for some rason it was my favourite as a kid xD

  • The Crane Magnet is the Devil, and the Crusher is the Grim reaper

    this scene is sad

its like a metaphore for all people getting old, and in the end, Worthless

    Cruel and sad

  • I feel the same way, it is almost like when people get old and they feel run down and ready to accept death (the 1st 2 cars), but some talked about having happy lives (the red sports car and the surfer bus) while others had hopeful but unfulfilled dreams (racecar) while some were just downright depressed and the last car seemed like it was committing suicide because it lost the love of its owner and even though it could still move it willingly went on the belt without the crane's help

  • @CrazyGamerDragon64

thats was disturbing when I was a kid

  • Comment removed

  • This scene scared the bloody hell out of me when I was young.

  • i guess this is where pixar got the idea for Cars

  • This song is actually making me sad, the song is a metaphor for death and sometimes I feel like it was alluding to suicide with both the cars and their owners it also makes me miss my 2004 Cavalier that I lost in a car accident last year. I think this might justify the guy from the B-Movie Show song but I believe that if anything can be used/reused it MUST be so or at the very least recycled, I alwasy thought that was to prevent pollution/overconsumption but maybe it was from this song?

  • I saw this movie when I was little and this song stuck with me all these years but I couldn't find it for a very long time. :] That crusher looks like it has eyes and teeth and the magnet used to scare me as a kid. D:

  • this is where i got my dream car....i was driving near my house and i just stopped at the local scrap yard on a whim. i saw a 1953 CJ3B willys Jeep sitting in the line to get ripped apart for parts. i paid the man 50 dollars for it....soon it will run the roads again...to think it was gonna be ripped apart for parts.

  • @SuperTheassasin I get freaked out when PETA people think animals have souls but CARS!?

  • My car.... was... alive when all the 1000s of cars were scrapped from '92 - '06. :(

damn luck assfucking car... its a 87, was also alive in 87-89 when the 70 model cars were murdered.

  • This song traumatized me as a child. To this day, whenever I need to go to a car dealership I cringe thinking about what must happen to the cars that get turned in that have no resale value.

  • Gah! I want to be a kid again!

  • Thumbs up if u came here by searching Awsome songs... What only me?

  • Now every time I go to a junk yard I'll be sad. D':

  • @ppy

    nice name :( lucky....

  • @ppy awesome three letter name

  • @redice1024

    Thanks.

Awesome six letters and four number name. ;D

  • @redice1024 You wouldn't believe how many times I've had to resist making fun of people's usernames because I know mine sucks too.

  • My lord, this is dark.
