Crosedale, wake up. This won't go away until we discourage the purchase of gas and subsidize electric and plug-in electric hybrids. We need to increase the gas tax and use that money to subsidize ecars. As gas demand drops (due to ecars)we further increase the tax and further pay to help people buy more ecars. Gas demand and prices drop further and we increase the tax again. Keep gas at $5 with the tax. In 5 years we'll all be driving ecars and oil will be $20/bbl. I've done the math. It's real.
