  • Nerve blocks (diagnostic analgesia) are commonly performed in lameness cases or cases of poor performance. I am a CEQDT/DVM and in all my years of attending IAED confrences and certifications, i have never seen anyone do this... thank you for educating me....

  • @williedikker70 Dentistry in all species is performed under analgesia and is commonly referenced/discussed by the AAEP and other vet groups, there are several good how to papers if you would like to learn more. The IAED is not a vet group and again perhaps they need to become better educated.

  • Mammals share the same 12 cranial nerves the trigeminal nerve ( Cranial nerve 5 ) supplies sensation the the horses teeth. Hence not performing a nerve block would be unethical and cause the animal immense pain.

Looks like you need to be a little better educated.(from :thehorsevet)

  • Why the nerve block if horse horse teeth house no nerves? prolly padding the owners bill typical vet. well i c things arent much different down under
