  • Boo el Fatso.

  • Actually, it's the Declaration of Independence - not the Constitution, preamble or anyhwere else - that lists life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as inalienable rights.

  • rush limbaugh is a joke

  • I agree that there need to be limits, but they need to be placed where one person's rights infringe on another's. The examples you gave: burglary, rape, murder, and stolen identity all involve one person inflicting harm (physical or financial) to another by taking something away that belonged to the victim (i.e. life, safety, material possessions. homosexual people who love each other affect no one in a way that is physically or financially violent.

  • I never said all straight couples were sinless, personally I think that is gross, but you're right sodomy includes all sexual perverseness, homosexuality is just the primary example. I don't know enough about the Netherlands to discuss that country, but like I said before, we are living under the age of grace and God is willing to give everyone a chance to be saved and change their way of living until His return.

  • Well, if you cherish freedom so much, then let all people have the freedom to Marry!!!

  • Freedom and abominations can't mix. To allow all people to marry is to be asking God to condemn our country. Allowing sodomites to marry would only repeat what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah. Besides the establishment of marriage was founded by God and the Bible so why would anyone who is completely against both of those want to follow the word of either one?

  • First, neither God nor the Bible established marriage- the Catholic Church did in the 12th C. Secondly, the Bible also says that eating shrimp is an abomination (Leviticus 11:9-12), but Christian's don't seems so concerned about making laws against eating shellfish. Other countries that have allow homosexuals to marry, like the Netherlands, are doing fine- what's God waiting for? Also, straight couples practice sodomy all the time (butt sex) and they get married, it's not just a gay practice.

  • I was referring to Rev. 19:7 where John refers to the marriage of the Lamb, but marriage has been mentioned in the Bible since Genesis so it was definitely founded way before the Catholic religion was established. The laws that u refer to were changed in the new testament in Romans 14:20-23 and

I Corinthians 8:8-13 since we are now under the age of grace and not law. Which is why you were right about God waiting, he is actually waiting til His return.

  • So, I still don't understand why it would be dangerous to let homosexuals participate equally in civic institutions like marriage and receive equal treatment under the law- laws of a country in which freedom or religion and separation of church and state are foundational principals. You're entitled to believe that according to your religion, although I don't think your interpretations are correct, that gays will be damned, but that has nothing to do with you. Let people make their own choices

  • ...should we continue to employ draconian punishments such as stoning our daughters in the street if they have sexual intercourse before being wed, or killing those who covet our possessions since the Bible allows for these types of sentences? Not to mention, selling our children in to slavery- these are all permitted by the Bible. Pretty irrelevant for our society today but it made sense then- only goes to show you that we can't live our lives by a book written for a specific culture and time

  • You are misinterpreting the scriptures. You are referring to laws & commandments that were created for a time period known as the Age of Law & some were not even created by God. If you study the WHOLE Bible, you can see that many of the old testament laws were changed when the New Testament & the Age of Grace began. I & hundreds of people that I have met live by the words of the Bible every day much less the millions around the world who do and we have found it extremely beneficial and relevant.

  • Because letting homosexuals have those things is immoral and from what I've seen, morals and economics go hand in hand. If 1 goes down, so does the other. I didn't say gays would be damned, I was saying that countries who support gays are asking for God to condemn them. It has a lot to do with me, I don't want my family & I to have to live in a country that is immoral and/or supports immoral things and yes I already do when it comes to alot of areas, but this one effects us in more ways.

  • what do you mean letting them have those things? Who gives you the right to decide which rights people do and do not receive? I understand that God and the Bible are important to some people, but you have to understand that not everyone believes what you do, and that forcing people to live by your beliefs is not right- we all have to live in this country,so we should all have the same rights- as a homosexual and non-Christian I want to be able to have a family and marry- I should have that right

  • Regardless of what you believe, I, just as you, have a right to believe what I think is right and good- I believe I'm just as good and normal as any other person- different from some, but we're all different. We all deserve the right to happiness and love and the same rights as our fellow citizens. Also, I'd like to know how homosexuals getting married effects your family? If you live your life as you see fit and just , what effect does two people of the same sex getting married have on you?

  • What are you so afraid of? Do you really think if two people of the same sex get married God will come and smite the USA? In the Biblical references you made, you claim that God punished those who committed homosexual acts- not homosexuals getting married- and since homosexuality has been so prevalent for so long, what wrath are you afraid of ? Why not love everyone and do unto them as you would have them do unto you- the most important of Jesus's teachings. Jesus says nothing of homosexuality

  • @jakersatcal Only in your limited little world of Biblical knowledge is any of the filth you spewed true! One day you will bow and confess!

  • Also, you still haven't explained why you promote laws against homosexuals from marrying and receiving equal benefits under the law and not for people who eat shellfish- the bible describes both these acts, homosexuality and eating shellfish, as abominations. How can you be against one and not the other. In my opinion they made sense for cultures existing during the Bible's early beginnings, but are ridiculous for our modern and enlightened societies. For example...

  • By that logic, why not allow everyone the freedom to burglarize, rape, murder and steal identities as well? Civilization by nature requires some universally acceptable code of behavior. I am NOT a religious person , I DO NOT believe that the Bible is to be taken literally. But society needs rules and standards to survive. The line has to be drawn somewhere...
