The boat is an Allison, probably a a comp hull. @ roberdave-- someone needs to bring that 130 mph bassboat to the Jasper River Run, 2011 river run had a 2012 Mirage hit 125 mph with a 3.3 Simon Stroker motor on it. Everyone would really like to see that 130 mph bassboat.
Great Video...it's good to see people filming runs in outboard boats. My dad carried Challengers, Swifts and almost everything else over the course of 30 years in the boat biz. I've worked the biz & ridden in a FAST Challenger Mod-V w/ an offshore Merc, and this is how that 90-92 mph felt. With that boat empty and just a little gas in it, it I totally believe the 125 mph claim. Stay safe guys!

The fastest outboard drag boats in the world can't hit 100 in 2 seconds. Looks closer to 65-70 but still impressive accelleration. Also the only way that boat is gonna hit 130 is if you drive it over Niagra falls.
To drive an Allison Bass Boat you have to be 2 parts badass driver, 1 part batshit crazy! My uncle used to race them, and I watched him get walked out of one, and it wasn't his first time around the block, very nice rig in the video.
100 MPH and no helmet or life vest? Not trying to be a buzzkill, but some safety gear is usually cheaper than medical bills. Nice boat though. Those outboards are nothing to sneeze at.
The world record for a production bass boat is 115.271 mph in an Allison XB-2002 and the record still stands. I've had some friends claim their Bass Cats and Skeeters could run over 100mph but they couldn't even keep up with me and my bullet tops out around 80mph. It's easy to claim your boat can run 100+ but hard to prove when the speedo only goes to 80mph. Not saying the Allison didn't because it was recorded with an actual radar gun. But 126 is just hear say.
@pdqasapdamnit You said it, production boat. However, you could set up and Allison to run well over that. Think they set a vhaul record of 128+ like 20 years ago.
@kevinlikesboys A few years ago i was on Lake Fork and was just pulling out of a little cove onto the main part of the lake when a champion went flying by. I decided to catch and pass him but got my butt handed to me. When we got back to the dock he was there and i got a chance to look at his boat. Turns out he was running a Mercury Bridgeport that was highly modified He said he had been clocked at 97 and Champion do not have a fast hull so it was pretty good.
@pdqasapdamnit Yup, they are not exactly known for their speed. I've actually spent a lot of time in an older Champion (90-91 I believe) with a 200 merc that would run about 75 on gps in pretty ideal conditions. It was set up pretty well.
Allisons do have a fast hull but I have personally seen two sink, well sink as far as they will with all the foam in them. The hulls just don't have the strength to handle rough water. But you have to figure do you want speed (light hull) or do you want strength (heavier hull). presonally for a bass boat I would rather have a strong safe hull. I'll just stick with my Gambler. It may not out run the Allison but I know I'll make it back to the docks. Still a cool boat though.
I've got an xb-2002, and it's an easy 90 in a couple seconds with my red/yellow Merc 2.4, only a couple racing goodies like heads, fuel pump and a QS48 with a 28pitch is all it took to be scraping 140 flat out, love that black "carpet" up front.

First time in an Allison with a small prop and a 260 feels like 100 in 2 seconds, If you never tried it, look for one on your local lake and ask for a ride, but wear your safety gear, water hurts at 100.

@canoetaco I have the same outboard on a custom built 24 foot walk around cuddy. I hit 50 1/2 mph by GPS which is extremely accurate. Granted, my boat is custom built from wood veneer and is significanty lighter than a fiberglass boat of the same length. Also, my buddy has a little bass boat with a 150 and he hits about 70 acccording to GPS. This is a common rig. So....96mph in a light tunnel hull should be able to hit 96. There should be noting surprising to anyone.
LOL! I happen to have seen Rodney make MANY passes in this rig. The boat is a true hitter in Lake Racer Competition and the owner is one hell of a good Allison driver. But 100 in 2 seconds is a bit rich. The boat will run in around 100-105 in the quarter with the weight in it for competition. Pretty tough!
I know first hand that if you are going to show Videos of fast boats here on the tube that wearing and using safety gear is highly recomended. No mater what! Lets all promote safety.

@roberdave i think he means the boat theoretically could hit those speeds with the correct prop and setup. As far as I know Glenn Reynolds(who I see every year at the ODBA World Champ drag races) still holds the speed record for bass boats with a similar Allison at 129mph(avg 2 way pass). Getting a boat to that speed is no easy task, which is why Glenn's record has stood for so long. Even though you may have the power and enough prop to get you to that speed that is just one part of whats needed

Yeah right......There was NO proof. Granted it was fast. But not 100MPH. Where was the GPS to track the speed. For those that don't know The ripples in the water speeding be gives the impression of greater speed, than what the speed realy is.
