  • Checkov!!! Stop playing with that old 21st Century junk and get back to work!

  • I have ported CM9 to my hp touchpad for the first time since the bought during firesale , it works great and beyond my expectations, thank you

  • Do a cm9 for the i9100g the g version please

  • What about cm9 for Nokia n9

  • Hahaha, stupid users already regretting their decision to buy this tablet.

Here's a tip next time you get a mobile device, android or iOS. No windows, no meego.

Trust me, you will regret it if you are a hardcore phone user.

  • @ccaian1 u jelly?

  • does the market work? and how many apps off the market do?

  • Looking good! I'm glad it's a dual boot though. Still like the Webos and want to see if it's going anywhere before ditching it completely.

  • You sound like a cartoon! ^.^ I'm going to wait till video works before i try this

  • Wtf kind demon accent is that?

  • Accent like a BAWS!!

  • what the point installing andriod on hp i would just buy samsung galaxy tablet 10.1 way better then hp.

  • @MrTuberrify Lmfao. I spent $99 on mine....and YOU? :.)

  • I have cm9, but my netflix does not work. Also everytime I touch the screen it draws.

  • Looking forward to it!

  • @greentheonly if you head over to the cm9 for us and search Samsung galaxy player you will see that there is alot of interest in this device even I you check the xda forums site. Currently we have cwm on the device so ports can be achieved.I hope you reconsider.

  • @greentheonly do you think you could mak cm9 or cm7 for the Samsung galaxy player(yp-g70) it has the same specs as the galaxy s. It is a wifi only device so it could be easier.

  • @princebrandon36 Everything is possible given enough time, I guess. But I don't think there is much interest to work on this particular device, this is first time I even hear about it.

Sorry, but usually there should be something interesting about a device for some development to pick up.

  • In you want Android, why not buy Android.

  • @kld2009 because most of us that owns the Touchpad got it at $99 or $159; as opposed to $400+ for a pre-loaded tablet. Plus this way is fun.

  • @LordOcelot FUN! So true! I feel all techie-n-stuff. Maybe I should get some white tape and tape it around the nose bridge area of a pair of my glasses! :.D

  • @kld2009 true, but alot of people were lucky to get the touchpad when the fire sale was going on and they would like to have the option to have both Web OS and Android installed onto the device. simples

  • If we got Angry Birds, we have already won...

  • DAMN I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS! Where can I donate to your cause?

  • @bbrjch You can donate to The Cyanogenmod Team at cyanogenmod. com. They have given us INSANE software!!!

  • CM team rock. CM9 is awesome on my TouchPad. Alpha is out... go try it!

  • Just so you all know, it has been released as of Today!

  • @JJ2cool42 It was released yesterday. I am going to wait for comparison videos of this and CM7.

  • Can't wait guys, finally I'll have the Android tablet I always wanted! Thanks very much

  • ics is out its in alpha0 but its out thanks so much to the cm7&cm9 team. check xda links today befor they blackout

  • Dear Lord.please give us some ice cream sandwich for the Touchpad users please download link!

  • Very cool. I recently loaded Alpha 3.5 on my Touchpad. It was pretty useless before that. The only two useful things were its quirky (and slow) browser and Kindle. Now I have those benefits plus a whole ton of extra apps that are useful. Thank you CyanogenMod team.

  • Does pptp vpn work on this build? (issue 197)

  • mmmmmmm cant wait till i get my touchpad

  • You Guys rock :)

  • whats currently not working atm?

  • Will we be able to hide the status bar during video playback as before with the CM7 Alphas?

  • Freaking awesome! Please release it asap... :)

  • green obviously spends a lot of time playing angry birds. He tries to tap the bird as it hits the structure, lol.

  • Shockwave at 0:15!

  • I think you guys deserve another donation, I cant believe it.

  • Just released today please

  • Can't wait!

  • thumbs up if this guys sounds like nikko's cousin roman from gta IV

  • @joebp91 yeah sooo true

  • @joebp91 hahahahaha loool!!

  • @greentheonly what do you look like ?

  • What was that at 0:15 ? Is the Touchpad sending a call out to the Black Pearl ?

  • @Nolhian No man, that was it summoning the Kraken! You gott brush up on your pirate!

  • I have cm7.1 right now will it be simple upgrade to cm9 or did I f up putting cm7.1 on first? I also wanted to keep webOS, do you know if I update my webOS to 3.0.5 if that will complicated anything on my cm7.1 or for the later cm9 . Thanks

  • @mdr949 simple upgrade.

  • @freestanding hi I'm new to this stuff for the touchpad. What would be the best mod for me to download? The most stable one that doesn't have any problems?

  • @mocool50 Go with CM7 until there is a comparison video of CM7 vs CM9. Search for "CM7 idiots guide". The users screenname is "reverendkjr". He is the BEST!!!!! Have fun!!! :.) Oh, and be sure to download Tiki Kart from the Android Market!!!! It is SOOOOO FUN & FREE!!!!!!!!

  • @BarbieBillionaire thanks :-) but is it stable with no glitches at all?

  • @mocool50 Both are supposed to have glitches, however I noticed nothing with CM7 except for having to return on wifi a few times in the first few days. Then I used a wifi technique from reverendkjr. His channel has all you need. I have switched to CM9 and it is OUTRAGEOUSSSS!!!!! CM9 ,currently, doesn't support HD video, but flash player is free in the Android Market. I think they have quicktime, too. CM7 is much smoother and allows for all kinds of vids....Netflix...crackle.com.

  • nice tablecloth

  • seems kinda laggy... will it become smoother towards the final stages?

  • Love how the first app everyone tries on any new device, rom, build.. etc. is Angry Birds.

  • Заебись. Жду релиза.

  • @AntVenom4 by sinking to his level, you come off as a jerk as well. Nice job generalizing.

  • this looks good, but there is one big thing that would prevent me, or many people I know from buying it. The startup time is too slow, and the bootup looks too much like an old PC with the dark screen and text. I would be interested to buy if it looked a more solidly put together, software wise.

  • Comment removed

  • @modeltrain9500 That's why you don't turn off your tablet! A minor niggle anyway, just look away for 30 seconds while it boots up.

  • @Xenctuary

yea that would probably work for me, although i know a few people are that are psycho when it comes to it being the way they want. The iPad for example, has a very simple and clean looking startup. Other than that though, this thing looks nice!

  • Is this likely to be released this month?

  • (What I think) CM's motto should be:

    "Those who know don't say,

    Those who say don't know"

Which is also a Taoist sentiment ;)

  • is it me or the angry birds really look grainy?

  • Is this ROM compatible with the HP Touchstone dock?

  • @Regnomus Get the fuck over it you piece of shit. I'm American and it doesn't bother me. If it bothers you that much kill yourself. Green i like your accent. Keep talking in your videos. Thank you for the video as well.

  • @Regnomus Your douchey attitude makes me want to punch YOU in the face. I'm American and I'm tired of hearing you clowns bitch about foreigner's accents. How many languages do you know? Do you have any idea how difficult it is to learn and master a foreign language? Are you so pea-brained as to not listen through his accent to what he is communicating? It doesn't matter how someone communicates, but what he/she is communicating. Get over it.

  • Man, looking forward to this!

Personally, i don't like CM7 on my touchpad, adw launcher feels very dated. it's still better than miui though! i _HATE_ Go launcher EX ! :D

  • @greentheonly

Does the microphone work now? I have Alpha 3.5 and the microphone doesn't work for any apps, although it works on Web OS perfectly. Please try fixing the problem.

  • @SoRandomName No, the microphone does not work and we are not spending time on it ATM. There is a promising msm-audio project by other subgroup that we hope will also help us at a later point in time.

Currently the audio side of things is pretty messy which is unfortunate. Even when the microphone worked (in first alphas), it was complicated inside.

There are many such things, that's why we hope to really get out source this time around to hopefully get help from all interested parties.

  • @SoRandomName Unlike CM7 alphas that used to be dependent on secret sources that we had no authority to make public, CM9 TP code should be buildable from public sources alone.

  • @greentheonly Hey! I know you guys are awesome. Just like a lot of others I can't wait to try CM9. Can you tell us where you will notify us first? rootzwiki or xda? Or somewhere else? So I know where to check by ;)

    Thanks in advance

  • @greentheonly Will things change (be easier) with kernel 3.3 (having added android-portability built in)?

  • Thanks for this preview, and thanks for your efforts on this project!

  • Will cm9 have FD encryption?

  • @homes24 definitely not at the beginning (on TP)

  • @greentheonly i dont understand? honeycomb 3.0 had that ability so i would figure that 4.0 would. so maby later? TP?

  • @homes24 TP is touchpad. It's certainly not something we plan to even look into for the touchpad at this stage, but it might come later. As for other devices, it might work there, I don't know as I don't have any.

  • @greentheonly ok sounds good, so for mobile phones it is confirmed?

  • @homes24 Sorry, I don't track CM9 development on platforms other than TouchPad and Nook

  • I love your accent. You sound just like my uncle. He's from Belarus.

  • กาก

  • Please upload a tutorial

  • unsuccessful

  • so is this pretty much on par with cyanogenmod 7 alpha 3.5? And if so is an alpha release likely this week or month?

  • Great, thanks for the reply, I will look forward to the upgrade!

  • i want it now!!! *_*

really great work, I'm loving it! :D

  • @greentheonly how do you find the keyboard for typing? On CM7 I find it is much harder to type quickly without errors than in webOS or CM9 on my phone. Is that improved?

  • @alexeiw123 The keyboard feels somewhat better I think, but take it with a large grain of salt, I don't use on-screen keyboard much if at all.

  • @alexeiw123 I'd recommend buying an app called "Thumb Keyboard". I have it on my 7 inch tablet, and I find it's the best keyboard out there, especially for large screens. tinyurl[dot]com/4cpavnj

  • Does this have the multitasking button working and slide to close and everything?

  • @colecago Multitascing button works. I don't know what is slide to close.

  • @greentheonly I just meant when in mutitask you can slide the apps to the side and it will close them (or I assume it closes them, they disappear from the multitask group)

  • @colecago ah, yes. this does work.

  • Thank you CM Team for all your hard work and effort!

  • What about Desire? Just curious.

  • Thank you. I will soon be able to use my TouchPad for something.

  • I can't wait to port to Android, just waiting till everything is stabilized. I'm getting frustrated with WebOS and the pdf reader always having issues with every patch.

  • HP should consider continuing to sell these devices, pre-rooted, and at a discount price. I don't know if that is viable, business wise, but I would hope it would be.

  • Hopefully ad-hoc support will be in ICS without having to do gscript hack :)

  • what is the estimate on how much this would be?

  • @MrSynacleNeonRailz I would estimate it would be free ;)

  • @MrSynacleNeonRailz 100-150

  • @greentheonly

    How does the webbrowser perform?

    Kind Regards,

    A Fan.

  • You guys are awesome! Can't wait for the final version, keep it up! :)

  • Nice work, my Thanks to the Whole CM Team!

  • I'd wonder what languages will the CM9 ICS support? I want to be sure before I modified my Touchpad.

  • Wow so functional I'm surprised this wasn't released as an alpha!

  • This rom its public? And if yes can somebody send me the download link?

    thanks

    And sorry for my english

  • When did Chekov get in the porting biz? Anyway awesome job, cannot wait to try it out, just bought a TP and once you put Android on it seems pretty worth it.

  • Why is the wedding ring on the right hand?

  • @CabhanListis Cultural heritage dictates that. Since we (well, most of us) do most of our works with the right hand, it's a show of sincerity, where as having the ring on the left hand is a sign of deceit, I guess.

In reality, I don't put too much thinking into this ;)

  • @greentheonly Even here in North America, other types of rings are worn on the right hand, such as engineering graduates who have gone through the Calling of the Engineer / Iron Ring Ceremony. They are told to put their Iron Ring on the pinky finger of their working hand so as to always be reminded of their duty to society while working (the ring will 'get in the way' and remind them of the above while working). So right-handed people will wear it on the right, and this is completely okay.

  • Does this ROM work with the HP Touchstone dock?

  • Regarding triple boot in the moboot menu-- it is indeed possible-- I have webos, cm7, and cm9 all simultaneously as boot options. There are some things you have to do special, however regarding creating new logical volumes and having them supported in your CM9.uImage file. This will likely be something for more-advanced users to do themselves.

  • Hey, I was just wondering if the android store had been made to work in this version, because in one of the previous videos it didn't. Thanks for the work you've put in this far - it looks great!

  • funny voice

  • yes!!!

  • CM team ,may god blessed u thanks so much

  • You sound like Yanosh, the museum curator guy from Ghost Busters. Sweet video though, thanks!

  • cant wait for a stable version

  • @MrPoopoofacer is your brain a joke?

  • @ARCTICR0B0T is your mom a joke?

  • Does this fix the vpn pptp issues?

  • HP touchpad? they discontinue this product. right?

    nice work.

  • @greentheonly Does it run minecraft pocket edition?

  • You guys are hugely talented!!! Your hardwork is much appreciated by the community!

  • After seeing this video I went straight to the CyanogenMod website and made a donation. Great job!

  • Green. thanks to you and CM team. I have just one question..please can you answer. Will camera for video calls work later? I know early release wont have it but will CM 9 on Touchpad be as good as your builds for native android devices? Thanks man! Keep it up!

  • @akash1229 Video will work (already works in SW mode). The camera is complicated. Initial alpha won't have camera working. Eventually it will probably be fixed, but that's not going to be all that easy I suspect.

  • @greentheonly Thanks a lot green for the quick reply. As always Im going to be positive about CM's work. you guys deliver the best. Cheers!

  • @greentheonly How is the touchscreen performance compared to CM7? Is it less jittery in person? It appears from the video that there's still quite a bit of horizontal jitter when capturing touch events. (likely from a driver level filter not being set correctly?) I sincerely hope it's getting better, since nobody is talking about it much. Thanks for your work, and looking forward to testing the alphas!

  • @freestanding what's so difficult about getting the camera working? Isn't there a generic webcam driver for ICS that you can just modify?

  • THANKS!!! Soon I'll have 2 ICS devices. my galaxy nexus and then on my touchpad

  • THE NUMBER ONE QUESTION: can it run flash?

  • Quick question, is the Youtube app in CM9 different from the one in CM7? The one in CM7 looks like the one on my Froyo phone (single column homepage, video page has three tabs for video info, comments and related vids), whereas the one on Honeycomb looks more suited for tablets by resembling the Youtube page. Is it reasonable to assume the tablet friendly Youtube app is on CM9 for the TouchPad?

  • @Skaarjguy probably yes, since youtube would be running on ICS and not gingerbread, better question is can you view it in potrait mode as well, cause right now Youtube can only be viewed in landscape.

  • @Skaarjguy The ICS version of the YouTube app has a phone and a tablet interface packaged into the same apk. I have an ICS alpha build on my Nook Color and I didn't have the YouTube app, so I ripped my Galaxy Nexus's YouTube.apk out, pushed it onto the Nook, and tada, YouTube tablet edition.

  • @chrisleighton3 So ICS really is the child of Honeycomb and Gingerbread... alright, thanks!

  • i never get top comment :(

  • @MavenTroll That's sad. I usually get top comment when I make a meaningful, well thought out post. Maybe you should try that instead.

  • by any chance is there a way to tether CM9 with blackberry through bluetooth to enable the browsing function on TP when wifi is not around?

  • NICE !!! You guys are really very talented ! I can't speak for everyone, but personally I think all that you've done with CW7 is extremely solid and the fact that it never even made it out of Alpha but still was as solid as it is/was speaks volumes. I have been patiently waiting for ICS and I KNOW I won't be disappointed. I've already donated but I still feel like you all deserve more. Keep up the great...no, FANTASTIC work!
