10% of the US is atheist, that means 90% believes in some kind of god. Was Beck trying to say that all those involved were atheists? The money still says "In God We Trust" Glenn, has since the 50's. Funny, if there were a god, why didn't he step in?
What is wrong with you Americans? Nothing wrong with a reasoned argument about the existence or value of God but this is a rambling rant , arent you terrified that so many people rely on this source to find out what's going on in the world?
Here's an interesting bit of information. The Battle Hymn of the Republic was itself set to the tune of an older song - John Brown's Body, an abolitionist song which contained lines like "They will hang Jeff Davis from a sour apple tree" (in one version) and "They hung him for a traitor, they themselves the traitor crew". Shall we sing that more often, Glenn? How about the 1915 adaptation of the tune: "Solidarity Forever"? That is a personal favorite of mine.
I am a Mormon too and if you study the real histoy of the Mountain Meadows Massacre you will see that yes the it did happen and the members of our church that played a part in this horrible act did so on their own and the church leaders did nothing to bring this about. John D Lee acted on his own accord with other rogue members in that area.
Bringing up the Mountain Meadows Massacre? And trying to discredit beck cuz hes a Mormon . Oh yeah cuz Mormons did this and Beck is a Mormon hes just like John D. Lee! Hahaha what a joke!!! That is pathetic bro!! Come on u can do better than that!
glenn beck is implying that not believing in god is dangerous and people being less religious leads to violence. bringing up mountain meadow demonstrates that people can believe in god and be horribly violent. Goes to show that people shouldn't loosely associate gang fights with atheism.
@ mouse geek: Are u serious? Its funny how the method of the Left is always the same. First ignore the message, then if the message gets to loud and people start paying attention then you better attack the message, then when that doesnt work and u cant discredit the message cuz its true, you better do everything possible to discredit the messenger.
The Mountain Meadows massacre of September 11, 1857 was widely blamed on the church's teachings of blood atonement and other anti-United States rhetoric by LDS Church leaders during the Utah War.d] The widely-publicized massacre was a mass killing of Arkansan emigrants by a Mormon militia led by prominent Mormon leader John D. Lee, who was later executed for his role in the killings.
After escalating rumors that some of the emigrants had participated in early Mormon persecution, the militia conducted a siege, and when the emigrants surrendered, the militia killed men, women, and children in cold blood, adopted some of the surviving children, and attempted a cover-up.

@deathstar367 - You might want to read up on some history and state some reasoning behind your comment. Why is it racist?

Beck's a Mormon. Interesting bit of history:
Mountain Meadows massacre
