my settings: HARD with abs on (only) , bestline off , manual with auto clutch (i dont have clutch)..in my opinion the best car in nurburgring its the LP560-4 or GT-R specv (or GT-R WORK version)

i reckon this game is more realistic than forza 3... forza 3 has more simulation candy like the tire pressure distribution but this gameplay is much better.. looking at the real life records of the Nurburgring and this game gets it pretty much bang on. set a 7:37 with Nissan GTR (R-35) and its only a little quicker in real life.

Nice vid. My fastest so far is 7:07.630 with my Nissan GT-R [R35] Works conversion. Which I'm quite pleased with. I also noticed you have traction control and ABS brakes on, I have everything turned off with a Ferrari GT racing wheel in car, its quite fun! But really satisfying when you set a really fast time, in a fast car with TC and ABS off :D

i just tried to set a base record for the ring...7:38:3 with a mclaren F1, could be another few sec. faster if i can handle the second half of the track better...a very scray drive(i played with PS3 along with logitech driving force GT; with patch fix)

What settings are you using? Auto or manual transmission?  I get about the same time 7.57 with the GT2, and I can't get any better with the Carrera GT or McLaren F1.

nah, it's a couple of miles, it just takes a long time because there are so many corners n' stuff. the average time for a fast car on the nurburgring is about 10 minutes

The only problem with this video and maybe the game is that in real life, a Mustang or a Nissan 350 or 370 Z would not even stand a chance against one of Porsche's greatest cars on a track, the GT3 RS.

the gear ratio doesn't match the real 997 GT3 RS. is it possible to change gear ratios?

Yes, you can tune alot of things including gear ratios, for the nordsleife try to set up a very long 6th gear for the straights, you can win alot of time but the problem is that you need to run a perfect lap, easier said then done with 170 corners..i did a 6:51 with the Nissan Works GT-R and never once came close to that time again. One thing i really hate on this perticular track is the lagging on some technical sectors of the track wich can ruin your lap, we need a patch to fix it!!

I played it on XFX HD4890 XXX 1GB. But the problem is the FPS is not stable, sometimes The FPS drop to much.

MyPC spec:

-Core2Quad q9650 @3.0 GHZ

-Dominator 2X2GB @800 MHZ ram

-Gigabyte P31 DS3l

-WD 500 GB Caviar Green

-Windows Vista SP2 ultimate

I played it on max setting with 1920X1080 resolution. I think It bottlenecked with the motherboard, coz its P31 Chipset, and doesnt support Pcie X16 2.0. Am I right?? Please some one help me..!

i don´t have FPS problems BUT a lot of ppl with ATI GPUs are getting shitty performance! =/

I don´t think it has something to do with your mobo. Yeh, i does not have a PCI-E 2.0 BUT, that´s not the main reason.

EA did something wrong with this game. It simply runs like crap on most ATI graphics cards. I think we should wait for a new driver or a patch for NFS Shift.

I some things, yes, but the performance is kinda crappy for a lot of ppl (a patch should fix it soon).

I think Shift beats GRID because it has REAL tracks and a lot of cars, thingst that lacks on GRID, but still, GRID runs smoother and looks damn good!

You simply can´t beat GRID's replays :)

So, this is no the best simulator around FOR SURE, but, it does have a nice physics. I mean, you can have fun playing it. The physics is a little better than GRiD's, so, if you like grid, you´ll probably like this one ;)

Oh, regarding realistic. Take the driving aids off and see how you feel about it after.  This game is very challenging without the aids. It's easy to mash the throttle coming out of a corner with TC and all that, but it's a lot more fun and challenging without it.

indeed it is challenging to drive without the aids! the reason why the aids were activated is because my stearing wheel is kinda crappy (my pedals to be more acurate), so, i can´t get sensible throttle and braking, that´s why i need them turned on :P

Oh ok nice, i prefered NFS U 1+2 they were best for me, now the new ones are becoming more supercars and less customization =/... NFS was different to Forza, Gran turismo but now its starting to become the same.... i prefered the streetracing customization not this supercars and race tracks... :(

the handling/steering is kinda weird.

it´s a little better than Grid, but it´s not THAT realistic.

Overall, it´s cool to drive :)

About the HD4890, it´s runing it at 120fps with max settings and the load temp is around 60 (idle at 46ºC)
