@IronLingersPlus The cat's not necessarily de-hydrated; our family cat would drink out of the toilet and our own cups of water if we weren't watching...yet she always had food and water in her bowls! I've read that cats prefer cold, fresh water (like humans), and toilet or faucet water is colder and more appealing to them than water that's been sitting in the bowl all day.
