They're like those Gothic Novels...they're all made of of old studies about people with previous heart disease and Diabetes. The smoking was a last thought to add on, so the govt. can tax one group higher than another.

I wish smokers could sue the government over this unfair taxation without representation. The federal gov, state gov, county gov, and city gov all taxing tobacco products and it only affects smokers. what will they tax when the number of smokers decreases ..... Its more than just a tax increase, cigarette companies have also been forced to increase their prices to maintain the same revenue.

Dont give them any ideas. Theyre likely to raise the tax on coffee as well. In all my years, Ive never known them to retract a tax on tobacco. We'd end up having to pay out of the butt for both.

Well, I've tried to quit before. It was a living hell. I simply won't go through it again. I have purchased all the roll your own tobacco I could afford, and have about 4 months worth. When it's gone, I'm probably going to eat a bullet. I guess that will make me quit smoking. FUCK this bullshit government, I'm fed up with it's policies anyway, and I'm to damn old to lead, or even participate in a revolution.

This SCHIP program is doomed to fail... that is unless you care enough to smoke.

Also, as a consumer of tobacco, SCHIP will never see a penny from me. Just like my liberal state hasn't seen a tobacco tax penny from me to fund their "cigarette tax funded" health care. Judging from the complete and total disaster of my state's cigarette tax funded health care... I'm not the only one!

On top of this, Obama wants $75 MILLION appropriation for smoking cessation.
