That is just plain old crazy, that has got to be one of the sickest sounds i have heard by far, most people on here are just looking @ the vid and listening to the sound, but to sit in one of those cars with the pull that that engine has, would to me one hell of a ride HaHa . Can't imagine what kinda money is tied up in that car. Nice Job .
Can you tell me what type of starter you're using? Sounds way different than the one on my 911, almost like a hi-torque starter. Love the car, sounds magnificent!!
To answer the youtube question about the direction of the fan. The answer is no. There is complete exchange of the air every 10-15 seconds in my dyno cell from the front like a rolling road. A fan in the back would cause a stall and decrease the exchange. A 911 cools by the delta of the air from the top side to the bottom. It comes in the top goes thru the intercooler then the fan (and no where else) (the reason for tin work) then over the finned engine and out of the back. Exchanged not blown.
I'm in progress of building a similar engine: early aluminium case+66mm crank, RS 90mm 8.5 CR P/C's, 2.2 S cams, ITB+EFI and either two Holset HX25's or single HX35.
Very nice small capacity 911 turbo engines, don't you just love RSR Turbo/936 engine sound :D
The stud spacing is smaller on the smaller engines, so the head and cylinder studs are closer together. This really helps on a turbo charged air cooled engine, because the cylinder head sealing can be an issue. The smaller generation engines also have a little more mass between the cylinder bores, so less distortion. The 2.6 was increased to 3.0 litres in 2007 and is still winning. Same everything, just longer stroke and larger bore as 2.6 . It is the red and white car on other videos. Thankyou
If it faces the other way all of the heat and exhaust can be regurgitated. The air is fully exchanged every 15 seconds to resemble the car moving forward with regard to heat exchange. Thanks for asking. PW
... well then, how about 18 minutes of the more powerfull motor on which that one's based rev'g to 8,000 rpm and setting a new track record at Sebring? I've just started loading 4 years of Pat's racing videos to his account (Pat Williams Racing) today and figured I'd start off with a good one.
More in the works as well - PWR's 800 hp GT-1 car winning the enduro at Daytona Check them out, I'll be adding more!

Shouldn`t the cooling fan be pointing at the rear of the car?

Does this engine use 66mm 2.0 litre crankshaft?

Sorry if this has already been asked but why the smaller capacity?
I see your other vids of the 993RSR with a 3ltr TTurbo engine instead of 3.8 NA...hugely impressive.
Thanks
