This is 100% mimed. The tone of his singing is VERY different now to what it used to be in 1985. IMO, Neil's voice has a bit of a twangy sound to it. The way he pronounced "world" sounds more like "wild" or "warld"

Who thought it was a great idea to put the break-dancing mimes on stage? It might of sounded good in concept but one look in rehersal and it'd be obvious that either they needed to do a completely different routine or not go on stage at all.

Saw Pet Shop Boys at the O2 Arena couple of days ago. He sang it live there. Sounds better than the recording, I don't think it was a good performance on the original recording anyway. The mix was better too. That "woop woop" bit after "west end girls.." was louder, sounds better.

You know, you can immediatly realise that this is lip sync. Sylvia Mason-James sings live, but Neil actually sounds to young on the recording comparing to his age and how his voice sounds today. It´s still brilliant ofc, but Neil has changed. Long live the Pet Shop Boys!!!
