I wonder why the youtube playlist for Julian is only 33 videos--there must be more than 33 of his songs--he just released his sixth album on October 3,2011.. Anyone know how YT creates a playlist?

Powerful video. I have seen a few different versions (some live) but like this one the best. I love this man's voice. What a beautiful woman. Alot of musicians are compared to other musicians, that is par for the course but Jules is one of a kind. I know his voice the minute one of his songs play. Just like Jules is very musically talented but has a different style from both Sean & their father. It's just a matter of preference of musical style not a matter of musical talent. Each are very talented in their own right. So if you prefer John's music to that of his sons, that is just your preference. I admire that Jules & Sean stay true to themselves.

With John Lennon aside, I think both Julian and Sean have different styles of music.. Personally, I think Julian's songs are more mature and more straightforward than Sean's, and Sean's songs differ to that by having a darker, more avante garde style of music.. I really don't want to compare them both as musicians, let alone each one to their dad; they both have their own respective places in the music industry and we should just appreciate the kind of music they make, and not their bloodline.

I saw him in Perth 1998. The crowd in 78 Records went absolutely NUTS for him - and I'll never forget how humble and caught off guard he was by the reaction. A totally awesome guy.

I first heard this song when Julian performed it on the Tonight Show (w/ Jay Leno). I thought it was great! This is the first I've seen the video, and I think it goes very well with the song. It's another one of Julian's tunes that I can picture John singing.

Amazing the talent that was inherited, isn't it??? If you like Julians music, go to his myspace page, under julian lennon. He has a few songs on there that are being released on his next album he is working. Pssst......."Everything Changes" is a great song on his site.
The war setting is the same and so is some of the imagery. I find that the video of Pipes of Peace is witty and ironic, though. This video, instead, is quintessentially romantic.
I know what you mean about the chord progression being the same. But there is something more to it. I'll try to explain. When I sing Julian's song a cappella, I feel like I want to mix the two together at the refrain for some reason (Day After Day and Don't Look Back in Anger, that is). The same thing happens to me with another pair of songs that appear to be different but are very much alike to my ear: Faith Hill's "Breathe" and Daniel Powter's "Bad Day." Maybe I just "hear" things!
lol I know what you're talking about, it actually happened to me today, but I didn't start singing that song, I started singing that song from the dog-flea commercial. "and fleas don't stick on me" the one where the dog is like at summer camp.
And I think its because its just such a common chord progression. But there are similarities in the beginning, the slow piano part. btw Oasis is one of my fave bands, the 90s song writing explosion is sorely missed!

I was studying WWI poets when "Photograph Smile" came out. I loved this video. It's such a great album, too.

Amazing the talent that was inherited, isn't it??? If you like Julians music, go to his myspace page, under julian lennon. He has a few songs on there that are being released on his next album he is working. Pssst......."Everything Changes" is a great song on his site.

The war setting is the same and so is some of the imagery. I find that the video of Pipes of Peace is witty and ironic, though. This video, instead, is quintessentially romantic.

I can see what you're saying, same chord progression, however its quite a common one.
Other than that I see few similarities between the two songs, they're both substantially original.

I know what you mean about the chord progression being the same. But there is something more to it. I'll try to explain. When I sing Julian's song a cappella, I feel like I want to mix the two together at the refrain for some reason (Day After Day and Don't Look Back in Anger, that is). The same thing happens to me with another pair of songs that appear to be different but are very much alike to my ear: Faith Hill's "Breathe" and Daniel Powter's "Bad Day." Maybe I just "hear" things!

lol I know what you're talking about, it actually happened to me today, but I didn't start singing that song, I started singing that song from the dog-flea commercial. "and fleas don't stick on me" the one where the dog is like at summer camp.
And I think its because its just such a common chord progression. But there are similarities in the beginning, the slow piano part. btw Oasis is one of my fave bands, the 90s song writing explosion is sorely missed!
