actually randy and ozzy were going to make a third album and then yes randy was going to leave but it wasn't because of ozzy its because he wanted to start his own school of music, while randy and daisley did write the music ozzy usually took part in writing the lyrics and in the early years of black sabbath he improvised the lyrics when they would play live, there is several videos of them playing live with alternate/improvised lyrics so there is no reason to say that ozzy didnt contribute

bob daisley and randy rhoads wrote these songs for ozzy to sing. they handed ozzy his solo career on a gold plate after black sabbath kicked him out of the band. of course, black sabbath songs were written by geezer butler and tony iommi. randy rhoads was about to quit playing with ozzy when he tragically died.

Ozzy has great tone and is a great frontman. He has probably never written anything himself. Since Sabbath, Ozzy buys songs, lyrics and/or musicans who provide him with songs and lyrics. Jake E Lee wrote most of the stuff and gave Ozzy half credit. That was their "deal". Credits can be and are manipulated and need to be to perpetuate the "business" of Ozzy so we all can think he writes all these hits. I love Ozzy, but like many he has secrets. Don't buy the re-dos.

@slash4216 Your story isn't accurate either. Ozzy wanted Tommy Aldridge in the band from day 1. He was not available. When he became available Bob was against it and kept fighting to keep Lee in the band so Sharon fired them both. As history shows, Ozzy had to keep calling back Bob to write his songs, Bob wrote all the lyrics to every Ozzy album in the 80's except for the tune Shot In The Dark written by Phil Soussan. Just makes me wonder what would have happened if they all stayed together.

@JonHawaii2003 um.....actually Ozzy wrote pretty much all of his songs with help from a few others(excluding as you mentioned shot in the Dark), and didn't use anybody elses songs until no more tears and he still wrote most of that, with the exception of a few songs

As history has shown Bob wrote just about everything on BOO and DOAM, (the proof is out there) Bob was hired back to write and play on Bark (credits say Ozzy wrote everything), Bob was hired to write and play on Ultimate Sin (although he ended up not playing) He was hired back to write and play on Wicked, he was hired to play on Tears because Mike Inez was not confident enough to do it. Bob is the guy Ozzy does not want anyone to know about. Don't be fooled man.

Look between the lines. Ozzy says in his autobiography that Lee and Bob both wanted to have more input, like it was a real band. Think about it. That's really how it ran, because Bob was writing the lion's share of the lyrics. Randy was writing the lion's share of the music, Ozzy was just stumbling around humming melodies and starting snatches of words. Ozzy really wanted Tommy Aldrige in the band, never mind what Bob wanted. Ozzy and $haron saw the opportunity and took it.

@shytownmofo It was a band. It was called Blizzard Of Ozz. There are promo pics of the band floating around the internet. Plus they toured to support the first album. I would take anything Ozzy says with a grain of salt. He has had to uphold the image that he wrote everything back then. If that was the case he would not have called Bob back to write his music for the entire 80's. Everything went to crap when Sharon entered the picture. She knows nothing about magic created by a band.

@TheAngryIntellectual shytownmofo is pretty accurate alot of the writng was done without Ozzy even being there, now I love Ozzy to no end but,these song are the procuct of Bob, Lee, Randy and Ozzy. Ozzy IS awesome with coming up with great vocal melodies,that and a few lyric ideas is the all he did. On top of that Lee came up with some of the vocal melodies also. It was a collective band in the begining.I also believe that Sharon is responsible for the overall idea that it was all Ozz,and Randy.

Another great book to read is Rudy Sarzo's Off the rails it has a lot of insight on that time.If you look here on youtube there are also some great interview with Bob Daisly. Having said that these songs could have never came to be without Ozzy. In the fact that alot of them are about him. i.e. I dont know,suicide solution. and Ozzy had great idea's but needed someone else to put them into song.

Kerslake and Daisley are awesome professional musicians! I enjoyed Aldridge and Sarzo too, but ever since then Ozzy has had a wide variety of players none that impress me.
