@SWITCHSTRUMENTALS Yes, I recommend it. I don't find anything wrong with the "build quality". It is an inexpensive and very lightweight synthesizer. For this price you are not going to get something build like an instrument that costs $3,000.
@keybdwizrd yh i agree your always going to get people complaining...at the end of the day your paying for the sound....im going to go ahead n get one anyway ...thanks ;)
I use Band In a Box as my accompaniment software. Will the MOX 6 work in GM mode and play along with the midi channels being sent from Biab? Like a basic midi sequencer software like Cakewalk etc?
I sold my original Tyros and I am looking for a new Yamaha keyboard for the playback sounds and controller aspect of a keyboard.
I love the Yamaha midi patches and sounds they have created these past years. This video has me sold on the MOX 6 vs the MM6. Thanks.
@MuzicTrax I don't know for sure that the MOX specifically has GM mode, but it does have a GM bank of GM sounds. So yes, it can certainly be used to play back GM files. That being said, the General MIDI patch set makes up a miniscule fraction of what the MOX can do, sound-wise. And yes, the patch library in the MOX is much larger (and better) than what you'll find in the MM6.
Уровень синтезатора всегда определяю по звуку саксофона.И тут Yamaha далеко впереди.Я уж не говорю про Tyros и Motif.Roland и Korg нервно курят в сторонке.
Fantastic Mike ... Believe it or not, I was first introduced to your genius via WebTV in 1996. They were my favorite background midis to surf with back in those days.
It was indeed Mike, but I was a WebTV subscriber right up until 2006, and although the system had changed hands (and the MIDI selections along with it), your sounds remained my preferred surfing tunes. In fact, I was so pleased to find your public zip files, I downloaded them all so I can enjoy them surfing with my computer. Thanks!
Thanks for your excellent sound demo's on this keyboard,
I am lookin to purchase one but unable to try it out locally so it has been a great help ! :-) , I currently have a Yamaha PSR3000 & Korg MicrokorgXL, but am looking to try & find 1 keyboard that fits the bill for me & also has a vocoder
This is looking like the one for me !, Thanks again ! ( If you get bored check my page out )
seems to sounding good. Could be interesting make a face-to-face comparison with the original XS, although I think that one has a more professional feeling.
@maidiremirko There is no doubt that the MOX is a less expensive, more portable keyboard. But it is a great way to get the XS sound library in a very affordable package.
do u recommend this board for the money as ive seen a few people complaining about the build quality...im realy interested in gettin this

Thanks KeyboardWizard. What software do you use to create midi files with, or do you make them directly on the keyboard? Thanks.
You have some great review videos on different keyboards and play them professionally.
MuzicTrax 2 weeks ago
@MuzicTrax Thanks for the kind words. For MIDI sequencing (and audio recording) I use Digital Performer running on an iMac.

what speakers are you using in these demos?

@88omarz I don't use speakers. I run the keyboards direct into my Mac.

Cheers!
