If Congress says, "we will cut $500 billion from MediCare in next 10 years", the CBO computes an estimate based on that. The CBO may not believe it, know its a lie even, but gives the estimate based on that ridiculous assumption. When Clinton cut Capital Gains tax rate from 28% to 20%, CBO estimated more tax revenue to govt of $8 billion in next 4 years. Result was $80 billion instead. They have no clue!

Either way, military spending is far lower today, than historically. But with transfer payments being out of control in the budget, I think % of GDP is the better picture.

If Congress says, "we will cut $500 billion from MediCare in next 10 years", the CBO computes an estimate based on that. The CBO may not believe it, know its a lie even, but gives the estimate based on that ridiculous assumption. When Clinton cut Capital Gains tax rate from 28% to 20%, CBO estimated more tax revenue to govt of $8 billion in next 4 years. Result was $80 billion instead. They have no clue!

Of course, GDP is damaged, due to the recession, so a constant military is now higher. But, the budget is STILL on par, historically. Although it was WAY higher in the 50s, and WW2. @judyleasugar97 I stated percents of GDP, and said so. Since you prefer share of the budget, then try this: 2010, 24.5% but in 1990 it was 27.3%, 1960 it was 54.7%! Using percent of budget historically with military spending displays perfectly the fact that NON MILITARY spending has been growing far faster. Either way, military spending is far lower today, than historically. But with transfer payments being out of control in the budget, I think % of GDP is the better picture.

Oil and Nat Gas get subsidies of about 24 CENTS per Megawatt hour of energy, while Solar and wind get about $23 per Megawatt hr! This is about 90-1 ratio, in favor of "green". The subsidies to oil are only about $5 bill a yr, Exxon alone is a $300 bill revenue corp! This is nothing!. Enjoy paying 90 times as much subsidy for "green"! Who really pays Oil Corp taxes? YOU DO. What IS a subsidy? A credit on taxes. The total Oil and natural gas industry PAYS US TAXES of about $36 billion, a year, so $5 is "break" from $41 billion to $36 billion. Big fucking deal. Especially when YOU pay the corp taxes of every corp you do business with anyway.

The Law is this: If a Corp makes profit in Canada, it pays income tax of 16.5% to Canada. If it brings the balance BACK to US, it owes the 35% Fed rate MINUS the 16.5% paid to Canada, ( Foreign Tax Credit). It pays IRS balance of 18.5%. This is why Libs say "Corps dont pay 35%". But, only a moron brings the cash Back! Why pay the extra 18.5%?

If a US Corp profits in Canada, pays their 16.5% corp tax, and leaves the profit OUTSIDE the US, Obama cant tax it. He gets MAD. He calls this deferral, because when it is brought back, it gets taxed. It may never come back, so he wants it taxed, even though it doesnt come back. Think about this for a while.

@judyleasugar97 I like what you have to say it makes sense. all the cussing and insults from kimlene and lucheney is just one huge turnaway, I don't even read their comments anymore because they are always the same just insults and BS, I used to think maybe if I kept trying they would actually add something worthwhile to a conversation but I gave up on that. You would tax the US home offices. Fine, Corps would reorganize overseas, fire the MGT HERE, and you Pinkos STILL wont get paid taxes. REDUCE the RATES, to get more tax!

Well he spent a long time "proving" that the government has the power to regulate commerce and insurance. The problem is that nobody disagrees with him. It was a complete waste of time. Forcing somebody to buy something is not a regulation. Also, Romnicare was a state, not federal, so it does not fall under the Constitution. This was not a good argument.

It refers to crushing the private sector, businesses, jobs, from the high costs that are going to come. Eliminating Preexisting, no limits, passing new MediCaid patients to states, etc will destroy, KILL jobs. Dope.
