That is very true, he accomplished a lot but could have accomplished way more. He KOd Vitali Klicsko in kickboxing, with a spinning head kick, also became world champion and then later he became the WBO Intercontinental Champ in boxing. Now he is 20-6 as a pro, which is not bad, but he should have done much better.
Do you know where i can find any Klitchsko kickboxing vids mate? Particularly the Pele Reid VK fight??
Pele was a good kickboxer but seemed a little lacklustre. His boxing potential was never realised either. For such an athletic, strong person, Pele could have done quite well in this days Heavy division.
I wish I could bro, I have seen Pele vs Vitali on some old UK kickboxing website long ago that I think does not even exist anymore. It was not a brutal KO but Pele countered a slow Klicsko low kick with a lightning fast spinning head kick, Klicsko went down and the ref waived it off almost instantly. Was perfect technique. I will try to find it again but it will be tough!
@1BALINT1 the wbo title is completely worthless,he wouldnt even win a british title.I reckon pele started boxing at too late an age.All the champs are at it from childhood.The martial arts pele did werent good prep for boxing

I first saw Pele fight as a 17yr old in the WAKO World Championships (Crystal Palace '92). Followed his martial arts career ever since,
He should've moved towards K1 a lot earlier cos that would've been a natural progression.Pele was sensational back then!
Instead he pursued boxing and when he gave that up took a journey to K1 fighting Ray Sefo,a legend, ''n this is what happened.
His clowning and cockyness was totally misplaced being new to this but I feel given time he could've been great!
