@dnave21 Unfortunately yes. Keep in mind this was ~5 months' worth of updates I was downloading/installing. If you do it on a regular basis (let's say 2-4 months) it will take less than a minute.

you can play audio files if theyre AAC files BUT one problem u need a thing that transformx to AAC file like DVDVideosoft free studio then u can make AAC music to DSi

Text and photos can be loaded easily, but only so much at a time. Visiting a site which page is loaded with crap (Facebook home page for example; use browser->search->facebook mobile->sign in) will make the site "crash".

@starfrost94 Play the game - no. Access to everything else - yes.

It's still possible to connect through even the most stubborn WPAs. Just fiddle around with the Search for/Test Connection and enter info. The only way to not get connected is by having a VPN (public wifi spots will have these).

2.)r4 card (saves data from internal computer games, roms)

3.)runescape icon must be dropped into a folder that you must then name (R4 runescape) for it to have the correct r4 file name detected in your ds's hard drive NOTICE:you must have the brand of r4 card that goes in computers

@warana2 Yes and no. You can comment/reply/see thumbnails and read... basically anything not dependent on Flash. No video. Maybe a future update will enable Flash or we will need to wait for the Nintendo 3DS. Even then it's not guaranteed we'll secure Flash apps. >_>

@tengochaleco123 I doubt it. If we were able to download (anything) I would imagine the files would take up a lot of the (DSi) memory blocks. Hopefully the Nintendo 3DS unit will grant us this function. :)

Nintendo occasionally releases updates to patch up the system with new content. One example is the Facebook app. While viewing your photo album(s) you can log into your FB account and directly upload any pics you choose. :)

Some updates may help boost system efficiency and, hopefully soon, support more files and programs (flash/java). If you didn't upgrade your 'Net browser within the past 5 months I suggest you visit the online store to add it (free).

@ladyo07 Make friends with someone who has a "raw" WiFi connection. By "raw" I mean NO passwords/firewalls/license term garbage.

Alternately just buy a wireless router and set it up without any challenge-response authentication enabled. From there you can do whatever the heck you want.

Flash/Java is non-applicable with the DSi, therefore it cannot display YouTube. To enable music on the DSi, you must have a SD card. Add some music files to it (.m4a format) and select "Nintendo DSi Sound" from the home menu. It has a parakeet on the icon. From there, choose "Play with your music". Select folder and play. :)

There's no set time for a page to load. I suppose it varies on the website's content and your ISP speed. I have DSL ~ a page takes about 5-10 seconds to load.

Plugged in? I only heard you need Wi-Fi connection to go on the web browser, or plug in that DS Wi-Fi plug or w/e they call it..

If your near a computer, then you need a router, and if your some where else then there is going to be some Wi-Fi Connectivity going around but there not usually around the outside of the city, there usually in places such as airports(for sure you'll find wifi there) or in such buildings..

Plugged into what, exactly? All you need is a charged battery and make sure your "Wireless Communications" setting is "On" (by default it is preset to on).

Other than that, I cannot think of any reason to keep your DS plugged in, unless you're planning to use it for more than 8 hours. >_>

A computer has nothing to do with anything. What you want is to be near a Wireless Router (security disabled, preferred). After your DS locates an available access point, you are free to do what you want while staying ~100 feet or so around the router. For more information, please consult the manual.

Sadly, no. The browser isn't supported with Flash, Java, RealTime or anything of the sort. Most websites require those plugins to function properly. YouTube is n/a for now. -.-"

All existing homebrew flash cards (such as the R4) for the DS are incompatible with the DSi to begin with anyway. ... but cards that can run DS software on a DSi are now being produced thanks to some third party company. :)

the Browser is not compatible with Java or Flash. YouTube relies on (Adobe) Flash to stream videos. Without it, all you see is a white screen.

In a nutshell, you can't access YouTube with the DSi. It is limited to sites such as Wiki sites, video game forums, etc.
