I believe it was during the filming of "Vitus" that he won this competition. This kid has a strong work ethic.

I believe he thinks less of himself as a genius then as a hard working dedicated musician. In fact I believe he detests the suggestion of genius. Well if he isn't he is darn close to it.

I suggest anyone reading this definitely buy a legal copy of the movie "Vitus". Don't miss the extras on the DVD. They are worth every cent. Also check up on his recent events.

@VivaYoungTalent You raise a good point, that being told one has a "natural talent" or is a "genius" in any field (music, sport, whatever) tends to detract from the hours of hard work, sacrifice and determination to excel in that field, and doesn't account for the intangible passion that one has for the pursuit in question.

I really enjoyed the movie Vitus, especially the great relationship he had with his grandfather! (And German isn't even his native language -- even more hard work!!

è vero non si può negare che è bravissimo ma si deve tener conto che ha iniziato a studiare all'età di cinque anni e questa è una gran cosa,in pochi iniziano così presto...... comunque se uno deve trascurare tutto e deve solo giudicare l'esecuzione,cosa che bisogna fare in un concorso,non gli si può dire niente è bravissimo....

maddorox my friend classical pieces are actually songs of that romantic period in music. The are no words but they are written by their composers as if they were. Actually many of the classical composers sang them in order to perform them. If you can't sing a any piece of music you can't play it ;D
