  • Law and order is a story that unfolds page by page. It's not an "Action" show so a slower paced theme works better with it.

  • this aint half bad mate wouldnt min if the real uk opening was like this only with th euk music

  • I will watch this show when Bradley Walsh is no longer on the cast

  • @smiffy992 I take it your not a big fan of Mr. Walsh. However the UK theme music sounds like a the ending music to a war film of the 70s.

  • Great adaptation of the UK opening to the US theme...but Freema Agyeman's and Bill Paterson's names are both misspelled. Fix that and you've just about got it spot on!

  • I have to admit that I loved this video. Using the original theme was great. I don't mind the British theme as the show is so good but I must admit when compared to the original theme I prefer it..Just an opinion!

  • I like the UK one. It sets them apart.

  • Good job! I admit I thought the UK version was all weird and patriotic sounding but I guess I got use to it after a while. :-)

  • that was epic!

  • I love this, the one they got now is tinny and cheap, and full of damn trumpets!!!!

  • I like the original theme better.

  • i think this intro would get more viewers cause the otherone sucks giant dick

  • Good job!!! I love Law&Order and I never liked that the UK theme and opening were so different. The theme is so distinct. It's still part of the L&O family and deserves the same respect.

  • Much better man. No reason why they didn't use a variation of the US theme.

  • Love it!

  • much better!

  • I like this better.

  • Thats really good!

  • Thank you for doing this! Gawd, the UK theme is TERRIBLE. it's not like the British can't stand a bit of grit - the UK theme sounds like a bad newscast theme or something to intro the Antiques Roadshow. Maybe the UK needs a sort of Sex Pistols inspired theme? haha Or something like Stings Englishman in New York but instrumental?

  • Absolutely brilliant! Why does this only have 5000 views?

  • is there just law and order UK or is there UK: SVU And CI too?

  • I think this is brilliant, I love it!

  • Great job, and like most people have said already...I wish they'd use your theme instead of the tacky and just plain horrid intro they have in place.

If they bring Law and Order UK to the US...they BETTER use the US variation like your awesome edit or the Rob Dougan theme.

  • Congratulations! Kisses from Brazil

  • You should do a UK version of NCIS if they have one in the UK.

  • Yeah man! have you ever thought about maybe sending this video to the BBC or whoever broadcasts this show. They might put THIS on as the intro instead.

  • You know I wrote an e-mail to itv about them hopefully using the US theme or the Rob Dougan intro and I got a nice response back from them.

Spread the word, if more of us demand a change in the theme, who knows, maybe we will get it.

  • way be'er than the real fing mate

  • do one with the svu theme

  • nicely done!

  • Wow - nice job, I like that better than the existing credits!

  • This is very well done.

  • You used the wrong font.

  • Wow that is an awsome job! It's so much better than the current one! Well Done! x

  • Excellent!

  • Excellent! Really captured the style of the US ones and made it work for the UK version. Much better than the real thing.

  • i just think it's so funny that they where the wigs...

  • I love the UK theme.

  • Interesting that you used the Criminal Intent theme... I actually like the UK theme song, though. Seems more "British" and less "New York." (This coming from a New Yorker.)

  • This is one of the most ridiculously awesome things I have ever seen in my life! Love the show, but was not so keen on the title sequence...

  • Excellent job

  • nice. I like it.

  • The real UK version is terrible. Where did they even get that song? Did they think this song would be too "New York" for a British audience? Dumb.

  • Wow. I just came across this and assumed it was a different intro for a different market. I reckon this one is the more appropriate. Well done!

  • Wow, if you made this, you did a VERY good job.

  • That was very impressive, gave a very high standard, well done.

  • Being a viewer of Law & Order in Canada, I may be a little bit biased on this, but I prefer this version to the actual Law & Order: UK.

  • Brilliant! Much better than the uk version with lots of good shots of London and the general culture. Especially liked the little touch of including the artist sketch of the court. Not sure about the theme. Might be ok but might be good to have one with a more uk feel to it. Don't like the one they currently use though.

    Good work!

  • I prefer this opening, but I think BetaArtemis makes a good point. The UK is a very different culture and they'll respond to different things.

It's still so weird to see the L&O show without the L&O music.

  • I don't like the UK theme tune at all. Its just overscored like all of the other modern programmes. Besides if it truly part of the franchise then they shoulda used the franchise's theme.

  • Actually Dave, This IS a Variation Of The Proper Franchise Theme. Over Here In The UK We Thought It Was So Crap That All Of The Law And Order Shows Broadcast On UK TV Were ReEdited With The Rob Dougan Theme.

  • Erm.. that's my point- I like these titles because its a return to form, not the rubbishy ones ITV gave us.

  • Was there a national referendum on the theme? Being from the UK I don't remember being asked my opinion or ever hearing anyone say the original themes were crap. You may speak for yourself but please leave the rest of us out of it.

  • @McDughf i'm not from the UK but judging from what I've heard on hear the UK theme sounds like someone should stand and sin the national anthem. US version sounds like a rock song, US theme is better, nothing more to say

  • @voldemortsnape

Hey Voldemort, In The UK the DVD Boxedsets actually carry the original US Themes, and to me they always sounded a little like a Yamaha Musical Keyboard Demo Song - I Know Mike Post Has Done Some Good Stuff, But This Wasn't His Best Work.

The Law And Order Series Is Broadcast In The UK On The Channel Five network, and substituting the theme was a topic that came up when I used to work there. "I'm Not Driving Anymore" was chosen, By Rob Dougan, From Clubbed To Death And The Matrx

Look up "law & order svu uk" To See The Channel Five Intro Of The SVU SpinOff, it wont let me post a link...

I Feel its a grittier and harsher version of the original theme, but thats just my opinion.

  • well better

  • I like this. I wish they had used the us theme for the uk theme.

  • That's pretty cool.

  • nice work, mate. although i think that the uk version fits better with that serie, I kinda missed the old 'law & order' tune in that one.

you know what you could do? make the first part of the video, where the voice says "in the criminal justice system..." the same way that the Us shows do: with the Fritz truetype in red and yellow. don't know, just suggesting...

  • good job!

  • I'm biased of course but I prefer this one.

I'm sure they focus grouped the hell out of potential themes before they chose though.

  • Nice, especially 'The Bill' inserts!

  • honestly, I think the UK version fits just perfectly for the UK show with that very grand and magneficent tone.

the US one is more upbeat and jazz-like, and it just doesn't really fit with British society.

Both are good themes, but the UK version fits just fine with its own style of show.
