its not by magic though, Digimon Frontier was more directed towards being sentai, you know, power rangers-esque, and its never been under the genre of mahou shoujo since it has nothing to do with magic. If magical girls were just to be classified as female characters that transform then the female digimon of past seasons would be regarded as such as well.
