Some people do, and that's what this song is... a warning to not give up human company for drugs/addiction. But drugs might not even be the problem here, but rather human ego. For it was partially her ego that prevented her from accepting his attempt to flatter her.

I'll be honest, i think aesop rock is amazing but i really don't care for the song... I actually heard the instrumental of this track before i heard the whole thing, and i think the beats amazing, i just expected Aes to have a different flow then the one you hear... Still, this album is great, i bet Fumes will be like how his song None Shall Pass was for me, i didn't like it at first but then i kept listening to it and ended up loving it.

Aesop puts simple overall messages that are implied for example: don't be a druggie... point is it is a story about a girl having this bro wanna marry her and shit, but she doesn't love him she loves the drugs. better and more clever then a anti drug campaign.

@dundalkmythsnonhackd I agree with TairyHesticles, Definitely against HARD drugs, I think specificly coke/crack in this song. Drugs that arent detrimental to your health (Or that are beneficial such as Cannabis) are fine. They add a sophistication and higher level thinking to the every day.

"Feverishly sponged up the information high" Is a demonstration of this aquisition of knowladge through drugs, Though in this case at the cost of his health (And the life of the woman he loved)

labour days was my first aesop album.. within the first week of me getting it.. i listened to it at least 3 times a day.. all the way through.. i loved that each track stayed in ure head because it was still all clear about what the album is about from the outset.. took me a while to get used to NSP.. but i love it now.. what's float like?
