What would you have done if the power would have went while doing this? Would have been on your dime, firmware flashes are very risky. My line engineer sweats bullets when doing this on equipment.
not a 100 percent sure but it appears I need a flash drive no larger than 4GB partition to be able to format to fat16 in order to install this firmware. already tried formatting my 32gb with no luck, most people probably wont notice because they used a small capacity flash drive.
@georgef551 yeah if anyone is interested the flash drive must be 4 gb or less and must be formatted in FAT or FAT16 in order for it to be load the firmware. worked for me
@jlether Thanks, man. Downloaded and installed the firmware last night by following your instructions. My GF asked me what difference the update would do for us (since we have cable). Quite honestly, I have no idea.
Mention the name of a wrestler, and almost anyone nearby will know who, or what, you're talking about.
The WWE is very popular. So much, it still sells out (or close to selling out) stadiums in this awful economy, versus a lighter recession in the early 90's, where they couldn't fill a 2,000 seat auditorium.
It's a lot more popular with Teenagers, and adults, being that the content of the shows are really not appropriate for younger people (like it used to be in the 80's).
So, you'll be (this) old next year. Leaving that in Comments was a bad idea, so I deleted it, so nobody will know what "this" is. :)
Yeah, it's more for the older crowd, because when I was in school, the real lower grades (K, 1, and 2) didn't care about WCW, the then WW(W)F, or the others.
Anyone successfully done this with the LC32D77X ?

@youtoobe88
If you're having the same problem that I did initially, SHARP fails to mention that you have to unzip the .ZIP file first.
georgef551 2 weeks ago
@georgef551 Oh I havent actually done it yet to my TV. I have it all ready to go (unziped) on a USB.
I was just wondering if the firmware makes the user interface, EPG and general browsing any faster?

It's fate. If it crapped, it would crap.
This update was sorely needed.

The one I used was old, so it apperently works. It's also 1GB, which at the time, was as big as they came.

@FFTT
If the cable went out, and you have local reception, the TV will drop out at a weaker signal than initially allowed.
That's the big one.
georgef551 3 months ago
@georgef551 Got it. Thanks for your help again.
FFTT 3 months ago
friend get Cable , no?You wont need any of this bs as there wont be any weak signals.

Cable TV companies are pirates, and for what little I watch, not remotely worth it.
(Actually, ANY pay service are run by pirates.)
georgef551 6 months ago
@georgef551 One wonders how that is relevant to this thread.

@kneedragger29
It's relevancy is a bit shrouded, but someone made a comment about going over to cable, to eliminate problems with weaker stations.

Where do I check to see the firmware of my Sharp LCD T.V. LC-C5277UN? Thanks
Pokemonfan809 9 months ago
@Pokemonfan809
* sharpusa(dot)com
* Select "Customer Support" (top of page)
* Choose from there. Make sure under "Download Type", select "Firmware"
If anything's available, you can get it. Remember to unZIP the file beforehand.

where did u get the firmware update?
chinito559 1 year ago
@chinito559
From their website (sharp.com)
It's very easy to find from there. Once at "Firmware", I just entered the model number of the TV.

Who watches WWE Smackdown? Mostly only sports boys. All I usually watch on TV is HGTV.

@georgef551 I don't watch any wrestling, nor does pretty much everyone else near me, except for some of the boys from my class from last school year.
