  • Great. Btw......I am wondering what she does with that little blue rod in bed. Maybe it vibrates.

  • Good God I loved this group! Why did it have to end?

  • Actually they are back in bussiness! In the classic line-up.

  • I loved watching the live version with Howe and John Payne in '92 at Philly's Chestnut Caberet, as an opening number at 11:00pm. Unfortunately, the Caberet closed a few years later. I was two rows from Steve Howe..... fucking incredible.

  • Haha! I love this vid, it's so funny when that man shoots the weird helmet woman XD She was delivering a rather large memory stick... With hc-porn on it x)

  • OMG, gotta love John Wetton's hair in this one! ;)

  • Great and powerfull song!!! ASIA is one of the best Rock bands from the fantastic 80's!!!

  • So powerful... man I just LOVe Asia...

Thanks so much for posting bud :)

  • Love this song, but it´s even better with the powerful voice of John Payne.

  • Astra is the best goddamn album from Asia.

  • 3d best.

  • Song makes me think of the Teen Titans TV show theme song..."Teen Titans GO!"

  • i loved this song!!!!!

  • i never expected asia to have such a rock tune

  • great song-strange video

  • Rubbish video, but good song.

  • Asia's best song ever. Michael Schenker copy cat on guitar , but still sounds great.

  • Nice combination. Hot chick and awesome song. Can definitely tell a difference with this album and song. More edgier with Mandy Meyer on guitar.

  • rush is amazing, the amount of music the3 of them create, and doin it live, few bands can play their music live and make it better than the studio. A true testament to their musical capabilities. rock on asia a great band

  • easily one of Asia's best tunes... interesting video!

  • This song rocks!!

  • The live version kicked ass at 1 am when Asia finally came on the stage at the Chestnut Caberet in Philly in November, 1992!!!

  • My favorite Asia song. Very friggin awesome! Asia rocks. Anyone that has never heard Asia has yet to have lived.

  • lol i agree

  • I should GO whenever I see a rest area near the highway

  • Greatest Drummer on the planet Carl Palmer ..... wonderful song from a wonderful band ...

  • hahaha

  • Good idea.

  • The twil-stik turl?

    Ohhh...k

  • Unfortunately, I did not pick up this album until it was in the cut-out bins -- I had not heard of Asia until my senior year in NC, where prog-rock is not very popular. It was my first taste of Asia -- apart from Heat of the Moment. Some of it does not age well, but I still think the band did not receive justice from Geffen. "Go" is very good to listen to on the road. I always think of the 1990 tour with Pat Thrall as the "Astra Tour," because they did songs like "Rock & Roll Dream."

  • In 1985, I just loved jamming to this tunesky like every other Asia tune..... The energy just can't be surpassed!!!!!!!!!

  • You must have never heard of Rush.

  • You are absolutely right. The energy from a Rush concert is the best.... never a lull in their shows!

  • I wish I could rock miami-vice style and still make cool music like asia.

  • The 'artists' of this day's age seemed intent on creating sci-fi landscapes. Look at Journey's covers. SEe what i MEAN?

This song is nice. Love the organ LOL.

  • This video epitomizes the 80's in it's own unique way. Very stylish. I love Asia. I grew up with it. I can't help it.

  • Does anyone have a bass or guitar tab for this?

  • how good is listening to a group doesnt sature with guitars n let other elements take part, they fucking rule absolutely

  • It's nice for once to hear a rock and roller say "I don't wanna die before I get old."

  • 2:59

    Here's your glowing dildo, sir.

  • You know, she did walk in the rain AND sacrificed her life for that delivery.

  • Mandy Myer (Guitar) played for Krokus. Believe it or not, Allan Holdsworth recorded with Krokus! Asia is awesome, I don't care what anyone says, Wetton is God!

  • Best guitarist Asia had, for my money. I'm a Payne fan myself but Astra is hands down my favorite Asia album.

  • Do you like Steve Howe?

  • I love Howe but I found Meyer's work more compelling and the music of Astra more "with the times" then. Howe is the man but had he played in Astra that album would have been totally different, and not for the better! : ) At least for my taste.

  • I think Astra sounds how it does because Downes was now in more control, thus providing a more Buggles-like production. But honestly, Myer contributes very little to the record. I think at the time (howe has since reunited) Wetton especially was thoroughly tired of guitar heroes, and wanted to get on with writing pop music.

  • Noooo! Wetton was tired (and jealous) of Howe, not of guitar heroes. By the time Astra came out the market was focusing more on metal/hard rock, so Meyer was a well-calculated decision. Production-wise (writing, "Wall of Sound", etc.) this was Wetton/Downes all the way, but Meyer gave the album a backbone. Go, Too Late, After the War are loaded with guitar heroics!

In Alpha you could hardly hear Howe (except on Eye to Eye) but Astra was ax-driven from the get-GO (get it? Get it? Get it?). : )

  • Please dude! C'mon! You can't be serious? Every-note Meyer played on Astra was dictated by Downes, trust me. Moreover it is very likely that Wetton played most if not all of the guitar parts, and Meyer Merely toured with Asia and shot Videos. Wetton booted Bill Bruford from U.K. because he couldn't stomach the great Allan Holdsworth. Bruford and Holdsworth were pals, so they both had to "Go". They could have offered Paul Gilbert the gig. Do I have to tell you Asia WAS NOT an 80's metal band?

  • You are going off on a tangent here.

    1) I never said Meyer had total artistic creativity but he said in an interview he felt respected and allowed to do his thing (I've read everything on this album).

    2) The ONLY guitar parts he didn't play on Astra was on Hard on Me, I believe.

    3) Never said Asia was a "metal band" but the use of axes was way more aggressive than previous albums. I mean, After the War has a pedal tone!

    4) Meyer never toured with Asia since their tour got canceled by Geffen.

  • Lets see here:

    1. I love the album Astra

    2. Go is one of my favorite asia songs

    3. I love the 80's-themed video (1985)

    4. And to top it off-A smoking hot woman!

    5/5

  • man by the looks of the fake things st the begning i new it was fake

  • mannn...i was 15 when this song came out,but i cannot remember the name of the album...does anybody know??

  • The album was called Astra (1985).

  • thank you buddy....loooll...i saw the whole video..and at the end, there is the name of the Album too.....hmmmmmmm...looks im too old for this...lmao

  • ok-recognize geoff downes [keys] and john wetton [on bass/lead voc] but i cant tell who the other musicians are. was lucky enough to see all 4 original members in detroit a couple of years ago and for olde mo fo's, [now] they can STILL ROCK! esp when steve howe is on guitar!

  • The guitarist is Mandy Meyer, and the drummer is Carl Palmer.

  • There is nothing that makes sense about this video. Absolutely nothing.ESP when the girl showers ;P I like the song though.

  • Erect nipples make PERFECT sense to me!

  • Oh it does make sense. But the fact that she goes out of her way to shower for all the sci fi loving nerds who watch this video. Funny thing is who wears clothes while they shower

  • LOL

  • It's a chemical agent detox shower! Funny thing is, if she was worried about nuclear/chemical contamination, why didn't she wear long pants to begin with! :D

Let's none of us forget that this was a Cold War angst video. Funny how quickly those types of videos, movies and books disappeared overnight.

  • i unfortunately had to be satisfied with what was allowed for on-air radio play. what sucks about the rock stations here in Fresno, CAL, is that they don't play ASIA songs so much anymore, and what they do play, is pretty much limited to Heat Of The Moment, so far.

  • Personally I loved this album. Although Go was the hit, I am very fond of "Voice of America". Then again Hard On Me, Wishing, Rock & Roll Dream, Countdown to Zero, ........ aw heck the whole album was prety damn' good too!!

  • I definitely agree. I was about maybe 7 or 8 when this album came out, and begged my Dad to play this album all the time. There were a bunch of hits on that album..... I did love the song Go though...

  • good song! GO!

  • The mark of a great song is if you can strip it down and still have a good song.

Close your eyes and imagine, if you will, the talismanic removal of the infamous 80's production.

    Do you hear it ?

    Yes you do.

It's called a very well written song.

  • good point. "talismanic" is a bit out there though.

  • So am I!! lol

  • I believe that was mandy meier on guitar takin over for steve howe he gave them a more metallic edge, i thought asia was a great supergroup and im glad they had a full reunion in 08 carl palmers drumming is timeless i hope he has full recovered from his serious illness

  • the original line up are touring next year , should be worth seeing .

  • are they coming to the uk

  • yes its around march /april time

  • They are worth seeing. I saw them April 12, 2008 at Westbury. They were excellent. They even came out to the lobby after the show and signed autographs.

  • i've loved every incarnation of this band, even more so now they are back together, they still have it from everything i have seen and heard and hope i get a chance. i always wanted to be the chick in this video- lucky her, geoff on keys and mandy on guitar. anyway, great memory from those days-what i wouldn't give to be 17 again.

  • I loved this band, bought all the albums.John Wetton had(has) a great voice!

  • This was a great "harder", edgy sound for Asia. Good stuff!

  • "Miami Vice" suits, "cocaine" hair, Kramer basses, twirling drum sticks; yup this is the eighties

  • Cool John Wetton is playing a Kramer bass. Didn't know he was Kramer endorsee.

  • I love all 80's music, but Asia has a unique sound that just stirs up a lot of emotion and memories.

  • What a great Video !! I love this song, old stuff from the magic ASIA !! They made a new record, in the ORIGINAL BAND MEMBERS !!! Also with Carl Palmer on the Drums and Steve Howe !!! Very cool CD !!!

    Rock on, Lance.

  • this song, along with heat of the moment and dont cry are the only asia songs i know, but that will change soon. this one is my most favorite. the video, however, is sorta cheesy, but cool at the same time.

  • oh god,!!!!beam me up scotty, there's no intelligent life down there !!!!

asia rules ,always will and be!!!!

  • how so?

  • Wetton's hair! Man that has cocaine written all over it. Great fucking song though. Get up and Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • yup

  • uh yeah, don't define words that you were insulted with.

  • man asia isn't a country

  • The 'country' was named after the band. It's true.

  • these comments made me ROFL.

  • country? you're retarded

  • Nice video and thank you for sharing this great video to us.

  • Another cool song from the 80's

  • this song is really lame but awesome

  • Strap1205,Although Steve Howe wasn't with the band during the recording, i finally pulled out my "Astra" and what a brilliant album, hooks a plenty and for my liking more guitar

orientated, the clip is hot too, have just bought their latest comeback album/cd a little

laid back but still a gem "Phoenix"

  • PEOPLE !!!

    DON'T REMEMBER..THIS GUITARS...Astra Guitars...????/

    Swiss!!! MANDY MAYER!!!

    THE FANTASTIC GUITAR MAN!!

  • Great band , good song, bad video

  • I agree... Astra was a great LP... Go, Too Late, Countdown to Zero, After the War, and my personal favorite... Rock and Roll Dream... that song is AWESOME!!!! Phoenix is a great Cd, too, and I can't wait to see them next Wednesday in Milwaukee!! ;-)

  • Rock and ROll Dream! My favorite also from "Astra" - The new album has a few good tracks on it. "Never Again" reminds me of "Heat of the Moment" - Glad to see and hear the band the way I remember them

  • Wow, after all these years this is the first time i saw this video! It´s great for that time! And ASTRA was a great album - it´s always a shame when people expect so much from the band - especially when the first album was a huge sucess! I think that the reunion of classic ASIA shows the fans, that there is nothing left to expect, because the new album PHOENIX is just GREAT GREAT GREAT! Even after almost 25 years, they still ROCK - and I think they ever did (even in the Payne-era!)

  • Astra was a great LP. Go, Voice of America, Wishing, and Too Late are great, not good songs. I know Astra flopped but it shouldn't have. And I did enjoy this video. A rather attractive young lady in a skin tight suit. What else can you ask for?

  • I just noticed that the environment that the mushroom-helmeted girl runs through is quite like that in Half Life 2.

Great music - and great model for the mushroom helmet, but how on earth did they get her to have a shower in the middle of filming :p

  • Disagree, Astra is a stonkingly listenable consistent album with some classic moments.

  • Cool. Very 80's, but cool. Astra wasn't their best work, but as mentioned, they were going through a bit of a shake-up. Loved this song, the rest of the album is only so-so at best.

  • im soo stuck in the 80s im 17 n dress n play the stuff they did in the 80s 80s punk rock chick rite here

  • apart from the punkrock thing you're doing the best u could do ;-) in case u don't know them, check out SAGA :)))

  • If you like 80's Asia, aside from Saga, check out Marillion, Zebra, Tony Carey/Planet P PRoject, and to a cheesier 80's kick, try "Y & T" and "Krokus". ANd try "The Smiths" - They had some good songs in the short amount of time they were around

  • Woah there danastev.... Please don't put the Smiths in with those bands w/o a disclaimer. I'm a big Asia fan but the Smiths would be better off with the Pistols or the Clash than those guys. They are THAT important. It's like throwing Micheal Jordan in with the guys from your high school team.

  • I'm happy to hear someone say that!

  • Have to agree that is a great track and that the album deserved to be received a lot better.

Shame about that whole 1980's video thing - this seems to be more 'Tron' than 'Blade Runner'.

    Oops!

I guess Duran Duran have a lot to answer for!

  • This album deserved better. It wasn't bad, just a bad time to change lineup and image.

Original lineup has a new album ready for April 2008.

    Asia - Phoenix

    12 tracks

John Wetton, Carl Palmer, Steve Howe, all the original lineup!

  • Man, I cannot wait for this! They should have done this 20 f'n years ago!

  • The video was a concept based on their 3rd album cover, Astra. The cover was a female robot in this funky future landscape. If the album took off it was suppose to be a serious of videos telling the story of Azia, the female futuristic currier. The album didn't do well. It isn't to bad but it isn't as good as the debut or Alpha or the previously unreleased songs from those 2 albums. They are now released on the Geffen collection for Asia.

  • The band went thru a lot of turmoil between their second album(Alpha) and third album(Astra). John Wetton was out, then back, then as they started Astra Steve Howe was out. He was replaced by Mandy Meyer, which is why it is a little less proggish pop and more rock pop. Steve Howe found GTR with Steve Hackett. Sketches in the Sun and When the Heart Rules the Mind are off that album. The videos are on here. Check out Sketches, it is an amazing solo by Howe. The GTR album was really SHT.

  • This is one of the few good tracks on Astra.

The album was O.K. but still not as good as Asia and Alpha.

Those two albums were their best.

  • I've always loved this song, the girl is good looking but the whole music video is f#@$%d up.

  • Great song, great looking girl!!

  • Just curious, but does anyone know the name of the girl at the beginning of this video? Has to be a model!

  • Great 80's Band!

  • Great Song...I Love it!!!

  • Great!!! Thanx for the memories! Chuck.

  • I recognized only john wetton who are the other musicians? and the sound is different from the original ASIA

  • Geoff Downes, Mandy Meyer & Carl Palmer

  • that weird suit the girl has reminds me of suburban commando with hulk hogan.

  • when a song is cool, you feel it automatically.

  • hahaha how insightful

  • thanks rumpeltiezerwash !

  • Great song. Love this album.

  • Makes me cry

  • ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Galneryus... Syu... Idiot >,>

  • the guitar sound really similar to the sound from the guitariste of Galneryus (Syu)!

  • It's great to see they've reunited and are out touring.

  • who is in the band now? I have a friend that hated this song only cause Mandy Meyer was in krokus. it does not sound any different of a model than it was with Howe and at times it had more life to me

  • Yeah, actually a pretty decent song. I liked the album pretty much. You could see the influence of hair-glam. Still, good song, pretty decent video, awesome band.

  • asia大好き。最高のバンド

  • Cheese, glorious cheese. Wetton seems to have OD'd on mousse and bronzer. Downes sure can play them big ass chords, though.

  • I dig the song, but it would have been better with Howe on guitar. Aaaaa, I'm a YES fan! Daaa!

  • this is werd

  • great song, although the video has absolutely nothing to do with the lyrics. the guys must look back at some of these 80's "concept" videos and just shiver! ;) but...their music still rocks.

  • Everytime I watch this video, for some reason, I immediately think of The Transformers.

  • yea i wonder why..

  • me too man!!

imagine this song in the new movie......

    it would be awesome....LOL

  • lol, such memories. I played double pacman with him before the Asia concert. I didnt' know who he was. He saw me after the performance, wanted to get to me, but the body guards , so to speak, wouldn't let him. LOLOL so funny.

  • There was another great song on this album: all I can remember of the lyrics is "See your face, in the window of the limosine." (Anyone have this album/CD? Do you know the other song's title?)

  • OK nevermind: I looked it up. The killer tune was "Rock n'Roll Dream" from this same album: ASTRA. (Critics said the album stunk, but they're cracked! It totally rocks!)

  • video is way wierd but song isway good

  • My favorite song from Asia! Thanks for posting :)))

  • ha nice 40 year old virgin reference :D i love that film so much

  • This was 23 years ago she's now probably maried, have childrens and look's oooooold. On this vid she looks like 20-25 after 23 years she looks like 43-48 ;)

  • Who is the girl in this video?

  • I like bether Geoff Downes singing, Wetton version is to soft. G. Downs did an exelent improuwement to all Asia songs.

  • Saw them a few months ago with the original four. Don't miss it if you have the chance. They sound better then they did 20 years ago. And stay after the concert, they come out to talk to everybody about anhour later.

  • that right ¡¡¡

i am waiting for their coming to Spain

    GO ASIA GO

  • john wetton was a great front man with a great voice. to underated, what a shame asia was and is a good band

  • 亚洲是一个伟大的大陆,也是一个苦难的大陆。亚洲人是一盘散沙,亚洲需要一个伟大的国家。

  • I really liked this group too.

  • What A great band! Although they never found much acclaim after their 1st effort; they are tops in my book!! I've always liked them and their most recent effort is pretty good!!

  • Asia 4 Ever

  • One of my favorite bands ever ! Their words speak to my soul

  • chessey video and mullett city

  • Of course this video's cheesy. It was the 80's
