Thanks for correcting me. I wasn't in the shoe game back then. I wouldn't say that it's a tribute but this year is the Chinese zodiac year of the Rabbit, which the year Michael Jordan was born. The color way is pretty much the same besides the cold and red. In my honest opinion, I would pick the CDP Hares over the Rabbits.

I wanted a pair so BADLY, but my parents wouldn't pay over 100 bucks for a pair of shoes for a 3rd grader.... @osuswoosh i was in 1st grade when they came out and had a couple pair of the VIIs in the different color. The youth sizes actually were around $100 back then especially since the adult sizes were $135. Shoes were extremely overpriced then and even now.

I remember this specifically because it was my first pair of Jordans and I got them on my 12th birthday. I know the original VII's retailed for $125...and that was for the adult sizes. I actually got an adult size of 10 for $80 on sale for the black/red playoff version in 1993 (my first pair of adult Jordans).J's didn't start to retail for $135 (adult size) until the theXII's came out in 1996/97.

@osuswoosh the IV were cheaper than the VII by $15 so that would have made kid sizes for the VII $90 and after taxes around $100. i was in 5th grade when the XII came out and those were definetely $100+taxes for kids sizes since i had all 5 pairs. Adult sizes start at 6 1/2 but idk maybe sizes were different then. The only shoes my mother, with the help of my older sister choosing for her, bought for me were jordans from when i was a toddler to when i grew tired of the fad in high school
