I'm 15, i still like this music, i always have done. I spent all my childhood with this in the background and it's grown on me. I've never liked all the new crap out today. I wish i was older when i saw them making this music seen as i was there first hand but i can't even remember being there LOL.
Lyrics at 2:15 - Fila dont need lyrics, as they can actually create, and arrange great music, unlike most of the "famous" music producers of the world today. :-)
Holy crap, I never heard this song till today. This track is pretty awesome. I can't believe it's from 1999! Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of 90's electronic, but this doesn't sound at ALL dated for something that's 10 years old. Vid is pretty cool too. Thanks for the upload.
You took the words right out my mouth. This track must have been well ahead of its time. The only thing that sounds 90's-ish is the pitch shifting guitar chords. Pristine vibes man, really feeling this stuff.
Thx Ussyats for your news. I really love the Cutler's album and i know that Steve Cobby will still remain a genius in music, but Fila Brazillia will be unforgettable. David McSherry teaches at the University of Lincoln today and the reason why they seperated will remain a secret for us, but we can still enjoy Fila's sounds. Isn't that enough? :) Greetings from Germany to the Netherlands an to the UK
I really love Fila's sounds, it gives you an extraordinary escape to so-called 'reality'. I hope it's not really the end as announced on one of the two MySpace sites. If they do so, they will still remain as a legend in greater music history, nevermind of any genre. And Hull City promoted to premiership this year, whar more could pay tribute to the work of Steve Cobby and David McSherry. :) Sorry for my half-assed English, i'm a german...
What I've read about it, Steve Cobby is involved in another project called The Cutler together with Dave "Porky" Brennand.
Quote: the two are currently focusing their attention on The Cutler's upcoming debut of Cutler, a release that will truly mark the beginning of a new era... and the end of Fila Brazillia. Unquote.
Fila Brazillia remains to be one of my favorite bands of all time. Their songs are complex and layered. If you like this kind of electrofunk....listen to Baby Mammoth.
i listen to this tune on my walkman when i go naked jogging in the park in just my welly boots...damn i'd be fine if these damn cops wouldn't keep rugby tackling me...i should carry a pokey stick to fend 'em off...wicked tune...
Fila Brazillia, Best undiscovered groove band ever. Only wish they would make a new album as they seem to have ceased their output for a few years now. Check out their website for their back catalogue
I swear, this is a perfect tune, pay attention when the new bives get in !!
I love FILA BRAZILLIA, have you ever listened to Mermaids tune ? I strongly recomend it...no words..once I heard it for the whole night again and again !
mermaids was their first song to publish! and you are so right, fila brazilia is brilliant! I listen to a lot of different styles but there is by far no other music that touches me more than most fila songs!
I never knew that fila's fellows made video... Throwing Down A Shape is one of their best tunes ever... Just hope that people will stop by and appreciate those funk flavoured pieces of dope...
As other commented, It's affecting me really deeply, making this rare communication between my feets and my brain...
Great Video, but i don't think any images could do justice to this flamenco electro masterpiece. This tune will be dropped at my funeral (and i will rise briefly from my coffin to shout "rewine!!")
my favorite!!!!! i need this on vinyl!!!

isnt that strange that a video added a week and a half ago is commented on by two people in the span of 12 or 13 hours.
I dont know what it is about Fila Brazillia; they just affect me in a way that I'm more than content to know that they don't most other people
