oh no...I think he's totaly wrong to be Wentworth he's too pretty, and Darcy like. He's meant to be a captain at sea, it was a weather beaten tough life at sea! He's too much like a country gentleman. It was Kieron Hinds that was perfectly cast I think as Wentworth and he really captured his confident masculine character, that Anne petite and feminine is a perfect foil for, but I do really like Sally Hawkins as Anne in this version. A really excellent lead.

I looooove this movie and this version of the movie for sure!!!! I'm only 18, so as I watched the old one, I just hated it! There's so much more emotion and romance in this one and the other movie was just too old.

they both have their ups and downs. The older version has a better flow to the story, and I think it is more true to the times, but I must say that I really liked Rupert Penry-Jones as Wentworth in this one.

I think that she is lovely, but also very realistic, not every woman on the planet is drop dead gorgeous, even in Jane Austin's time. Her heroines were never the prettiest ones in thier family, remember Jane and Elizabeth Bennett? But you are right he is so Cute! :)

I forgot to say - it benefits from having that long kiss/no kiss deleted from it. I would have preferred to see the Captain's face. Then again somebody said how he made her work for this kiss. I don't know. Was he just more experienced (a lady friend in every port?;) & so wasn't so much "gagging for it" as savouring it? ;) Why did you think he could keep his cool? Or is this what Rupert in the flesh does to one?
