What bothers me is more his lack of shut-outs (none over the last 13 years of his career), the large number of home-runs he gives up (even once leading the league with 35), and his 4.41 career ERA. Also, he may have won 200 games, but he also lost 180. He is a decent pitcher, not a great one.

I think his greatest strength was that he was fun to watch. When he was on, it was almost funny to see batters swing a mile off the ball.

Truth. Why does speed matter to people so much in the pitching realm? The difference in reaction time between a 95 to an 80 mph ball is negligible. To me, it's far more valuable to throw a moving ball that will confuse the hell out of batters than to just throw it as hard as I can. Most people will tell you the knuckleball is a nightmare to hit, as is the changeup. Both of those are relatively slow pitches.
