@dank0banank0 That question is too easy! What I do is have a separate subtile in srt format. So I have a movie called Test.avi and Test.srt. Put those on the thumb drive, and you are good to go!

@gamedexterity modchip. i have scph 90004 8C and i can't exploit the card. but found a method to put sms on a dvd with some avi files or whatever you want.so when it loads the dvd it loads the sms on it and works just like it would run it from the usb pen. but i guess it's pain for the lens and i avoid watching movies on ps2.

I use freeMcBoot but for some reason it doesnt play all divx/xvids (will play the audio but no vieo on some) - im guessing its something to do with the way they are encoded though play fine in other stand alone dvd players with divx compatability, but havent worked out what the problem is yet.otherwise its a great media player! the problem is when playing USB or via a DVD.

@feartheturnip Agreed, it has to deal with the way the movie is encoded. I don't use PS2 much to do this, as now I have a modded xbox and also a wd tv device that plays usb movies. If you want to play movies via DVD, argh, that is more tricky and I advise don't waste the time for that. Go for USB only. - Versatile

@gamedexterity Now i just gave up in searching in if there was any problems for the sms to load the audio files with the correct synch of the movie, and i read some comments and browsed for the options on my videos converter and found out that some of the synch parameters on it must be changed for a better performance, it was not a sms problem, it was the video options of it, now i would only look for the right videos settings and play, thanks a lot.

You have to go through extra steps and somehow patch the ISO of the disc to make it appear as if it is a dvd-movie when in reality it is a data disc. @Playitalready You are BEST to move those files to a USB thumb drive or hard drive for viewing. You have to burn the DIVX files onto a patched data disc so that the PS2 thinks its a DVD VIDEO disc and not a regular DATA disc. If you have the files burnt already, don't waste your time remaking the disc. This is why I have an xbox 1 or a dedicated DIVX player so I don't have to re do everything. - Versatile

Guys, I have an ESR Program on my modded ps2 and i want to run a game which doesnt work with ESR but works with swap magic (Sonic Unleashed)

I downloaded a swapmagic.elf for ps2 off piratebay. I put the swap magic.elf into the swapmagic folder and ran it with ESR but it came up then disappeared and everything went black.

Any tips to get it working, please?

as in the video i will explain it to you step by step :-

1:- open sms player

2:- press start

3:- go to device settings and press x

4:- make sure the (auto start usb ) option is enabled

5:- enable the option called (support for usb)

and the player will read all the files on the stick included your videos of course

(_note_) make sure to save the changes so you dont have to make this every time

Check whether your PS2's date code is 8c or 8b or something else.

Its labeled on your PS2 along with the serial Number, version etc..

If your ps2's date code was 8c, FMCB WON'T WORK. And there is no way you around it..

And Swap magic or a modchip would be the the only hope for you.

i have the same silver ps2 modded with free mcboot 1.8b and i used a max memory 16 mb card so i can add a bunch of .elf files to my menu. the ps2 is nice, but in my opinion, i think the xbox with xbmc is a way better media player, and there is allot more you can do with a modded xbox than a modded ps2
