i have few regrets in my life , one of them is to have never met and talked with artists like this, i beg your pardon i should have done more, but fate has another turn for all of us, and if i hve a lesson from this it is to the next time i ever come close to an artist like this its to seize the opportuntiy and tell them the things i have to say say and ask.
Sylvia Robinson, wrote great songs"Love On A Two Way Street & Pillow Talk was just a few that made you all warm inside. She was also known as one of hip-hop's early founders as the record label owner that put out Rapper's Delight, rap's first mainstream success, died Thursday, She was 76.I worked for Slyvia Robinson and I was honored to have learned and shared special times with her.May Slyvia rejoice in peace.Ms Rob you will always be remembered.Love You!
INCREDIBLE example of the best of the best Classic Disco. This version is shorter than the extremely rare 12" DJ promo (which I have) version which to my knowledge never released to the general public. Just so smooth in orchestration and singing. Will try to upload my 12" DJ promo copy for you to enjoy. 10 points to SYLVIA!!!
Wow. This is amazing that you posted this. SOOOO Sexy. Wow. :) It brings back memories of a time long lost. The world doesn't even move like this song does anymore. Music is nothing like this. How'd that happen-that music was this deep and heartfelt while making you dance to the stuff that is peddled as good now? Don't care for the answer...just know that we have all been blessed to have heard songs like this then...and we can relive them now.
I had the pleasure to have worked for Mrs Rob"Sugarhill Records"1995-1996
Sylvia was still hip as ever, and she still could bring it!She retired on top!!
Ohyeah Mrs Rob"Sylvia"aged gracefully, still a beautiful woman till this day!
Yes she is under rated. She also is a giving person,I once drove her in my van to pick up toys and other gifts for kids in New Jersey and the Bahamas.Slyvia is awesome!Thank you mrs Rob,cause I learned so much from you!Stay Blessed
@dcmaestro1: So why is my idol Sylvia so reclusive??? I would so love to see an episode of "Unsung" profiling her...but would she agree to it is the real question!
This was one of the cuts she used Wood Brass & Steel as the backing group. They're more well known for their track Funkanova. Half the album was Wood Brass & Steel, while the other have were rhythm tracks by The Rimshots, which included the title track Lay It On Me.
Two sexy artists from the 70s: Sylvia and Telly. PERFECT!
