  • Ironically in the ending Tear says something about a sephiroth tree.

  • @rich520 How is that ironic?

Sephiroth are used in all sorts of fiction, it's from Kabbalah.

  • For the Spehiroth fanboys and Tales series fans, an idea: Namco-Bandai collaborating with Square to put Sephiroth in the next TotW:RM as a cameo boss. A pain in the ass cameo boss.

  • For some reason, Widdershin looks (to me, at least) like a cross between Yggdrassil and Sephiroth.

  • So scare fight with Winddershin

  • Sephiroth disliked it lol!

  • widdershin huh? aahhhhhh........good times......this is the game that introduces me to the tales series i have tov now

  • My response to Widdershins Doom sword from gilgulim that will be the end of your PSP because you will break it from frustration.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YOU WIDDERSHIN!!! OR SHOULD I SAY WIDDERSHITHEAD PAIN IN THE ASS ARGHHHHHH!

  • DIE BEFORE ME !

  • Coincidence that Widdershin and Sephiroth look almost the same and they are both final bosses.

  • Throwing the sun at you or

giant fucking apopcalypsic sword dropping form the heavens cleaving ur brains and asploding you...?

  • @SuperSaiyanSonix I prefer the Sun being thrown.

  • was anyone shocked by that freakin huge ass sword he brings down randomly through the battle i know i almost pissed my pants cause i healed right before it hit saving my life lol

  • @kitsunade dude lucky my friend failed to heal before hand and well game over

  • @stupogo0 lol i was literally like (0_o) cause i wasnt sure if i was gonna live lol

  • widdershin is the beast who else but him has the guts to say "out of my face"

  • oh i really hated fighting him...i lost count how many times i died and had to go back and fight him again. the real sad thing was i had only really died once in the game till then. but god is this music awesome. and guys who cares his he looks like sephy widdy was one awesome bad guy, with a sexy voice. thats the only thing that matters

  • Widdershin kick ass When you first get to him

  • Widdershin? ...Anything to do with Discworld?

  • Fun fact FF7 is quite similar to Tales of Phantasia. You could say FF7 is a rip off in fact. A better graphics rip off however.

  • Guys. If we're talking about Sephiroth in the "Tales of" universe, then by far (If you dont like spoilers stop reading now) Duke's 3rd form in tales of Vesperia takes the cake. His Mystic Arte/Hi-Ougi is pretty much Seph's Super Nova. But enough of him, this music is pretty good, and I personally think the soundtrack is one of TotW's "Redeeming" qualities.

  • Lol, Sephiroth's cousin XD

  • Stupid Bamco-Namdai, ripping of Zeromus and Sepiroth. But it's catchy! XD

  • Are people seriously arguing about Sephiroth on Widdershin's theme? Really? Wow. Listen to the music, shut the hell up, siddown, and drink your goddamn tea.

  • people people this is sepiroth whith a other company is just that since they dont wana make a other remix of ff7 for know he say like BLEH and go to namco for a wild i hope they put him to for a otehr tales of versus

  • lol the sephiroth rip-off theme sucks costed me a bit to beat him but at least he didnt transform or be forced to walk all the way to the fucking exit

  • , and speaking of final fantasy, I can't wait till XIII comes out... Jut why are there three? 5 stars

  • evertime i see this boss right i think of sepiroth i dont know why

  • That's because he lokks alot like Sephiroth :P

  • dont u think he a family related

  • Maybe or Widdershin is a ripp-off XD JK JK

  • nah PROBALY IS sepiroth whit a other rule cause he tired on ff saying always mother

  • Now he's talkin all-day long about the Devourer XD

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... i like it more wen he was whti the head

  • Too bad Sephiroth already had enough with that ''Mother'' AKA Jenova AKA the uglist thing I ever saw o_O [Seriosly it's scary]

  • aw comon i like it she look adorable

  • Your kidding right O_o? right.....?

  • im not kidding she look soo adorable

  • You sure you don't have the J.E.N.O.V.A virus? XD

  • yup im sure pluse my mom is jenova XD

  • NOOOOOOOOOO Why did they had to take you D:< DAMN YOu JENOVA YOU HEADLESS MONSTER XD

  • lol

  • sword of hax ftl

  • ohh btw Final Fantasy VII is overreated it over shadowes rest of the great final fantasy titels not to mention all the rpg in all which is kinda overrated if you ask me it was good but not perfect as all people say it is

  • Like golden sun? That game is just pure pwnage and its much harder than FF7

  • Golden sun is the most awesome game ever but i dont think it was harder, first play through is hard but second playthrough is millions times easier, i hated Kraken on first playthrough cus i was young and a noob xD lolz

  • Golden Sun was hard? It's like, the only game I've beaten without getting a Game Over.

  • so to put a end to the disscusion we end it with Final Fantasy VIII has the best plot game play and all right? i take that a as a yes

  • This is probably the best song in Radiant Mythology. o:

  • Well final boss music are always the best.

    "Normaly"

  • he's got every intention to kill your preist.

  • For those who are fighting him Be atleast Lv 60 because hes hard if your not the block type that is Stock up on items Life bottles for your teammates trust me your gonna need them... Gl P.s my lv 90 Char was deleted so i got rid of this game

  • this was a great battle, very epic

  • Widdershin actually reminded me more of Mid-Boss than Sephiroth, especially with his battle music.

  • Lol. Now that you mention it...

Although Mid-Boss was awesome. =D XD!

  • DIE BEFORE ME!

  • Love this song.

Personally, while Widdershin looked a lot like Sephiroth, I preferred Widdershin as a villain. Why? Because he didn't have an Oedipus complex. =P

That and the fact that Sephy's plot makes no sense. What's the point of being a god if, after throwing a meteor into the planet, there's nobody left to rule over. I mean... EH?!

  • I think he looks like Mid-Boss from Disagea

  • Umm Sephy never planned on conquering the planet. He wanted its energy and use it as a vessel to travel to other planets.

  • I never said he would conquer it. In FFVII, Sephy's plot was slam a meteor into the world because it would apparently make him a god. My point was, that's stupid because slamming a meteor into the world would destroy everybody, so there's no-one left to rule over as a god.

You're probably thinking of Advent Children. Frankly, that's even siller. He's using it essentially as a spaceship to go to other worlds. But *why*, Sephy?

Frankly, he was a rubbish villain with no logic or reason at all.

  • That's your opinion. In FFVII he explained all he cared was for the Earth's energy. He didnt care for any life on the Earth nor ruling it. Also the fact that it was explained the Jenova went around causing havoc on other planets, probably means that Sephiroth was most likely going to do the same. AC only explained and showed a different method of accomplishing it. Basically, he just wanted more power and cared less about ruling. But I see what you mean, usually villains want to be God and rule.

  • I'm not sure you're getting my criticism of him. I know what his plan was, I just think it's stupid.

He's effectively a villain who wants to run around destroying things just for the hell of it. That is not a good plot idea, that's just unsatisfying and overly simplistic. I like my villains to have a decent idea, not just "well I'll blow up the world because I'm evil and crazy I guess". That's why FFVII's narrative disappoitned me.

  • So isnt Widder's quest for immortality overly simplistic as well? "i'm gonna die one day I'll go around sucking energy from planets to delay the inevitable" Though that doesnt mean I didnt like him :P IMO Speh and Widder practically do the same thing, its just that Sephy does it for power Widder does it to live longer. They both even take advantage of those with broken or no wills. Seph had Cloud, Widder had Kanono and that butterfly woman. Ruling over things was just a bonus in Widder's case.

  • Maybe so, but don't forget that Widdershin's objective of gaining eternal life wasn't motivated by selfish means. In the end, he was motivated by a desire to save his people as the Descender of Gilgulim. It was never about him personally living longer, that was (as you say) just a bonus. Widdershin is actually more comparable to Dhaos, as their actions are done for the good of their people. Sephiroth doesn't have that. He just went nuts and turned on the world for no apparent reason.

  • Sephiroth's perspective and reason changed once he found out his true origins. He always thought he was different but he never thought he part of a freak experiment. That same experiment that was making monsters out of people. He then thought himself as such, and encased himself in books, eventually learning everything of how he came to be and Jenova. I would believe that's reason enough. I dont remember Widdershin ever saying stuff about his people, but it's been a while since I beat it. :P

  • My point exactly. Sephy found out where he was from and just snapped. Finding out where you're from doesn't strike me as a good reason for somebody to turn evil.

Both plots are overly simplistic, that I don't deny. I just think that Widdershin's is more narratively satisfying as he isn't truly evil; just very misguided like Dhaos. Sephiroth on the other hand can be boiled down to "Wah wah, I didn't like my origins so I'm going to kill everybody."

  • XD If only that was the case. At the beginning Sephiroth didnt like his true origins, but then he came to like the idea of what he was capable of. He didnt want to destroy the world because he didnt like what he truly was, it was just the opposite.

You excuse Widder's fear of Death and all his evil intentions and acts by saying he was misguided? Ha! :P The more I read your comments the more you sound like a hater :P Since it's obvious this could go on forever I'll just leave it at that.

  • You're still sort of missing my point.

Widdershin *was never* afraid of death. He tells the Descender very clearly that he was born into a world that was fated to die and decided to change things by reviving his world as one which would never die. I like villains whose plots are philosophically challenging. Sephiroth's wasn't, it was just mindless destruction, whereas Widdershin's poses the question of whether or not it's right to sacrifice other worlds to make one which will never die.

  • Ya know, this is a good song. But there is one thing that is hinderering my full enjoyment of this song unfortunately. That would be the needless arguments that have been taking place on this page. I unfortunately made the grave mistake of reading through them and now feel much more stupid because of it. But hey, like i said, good song, and a good game as well

  • ^what you said about Sephiroth and FFVII could easily be said about Kuja and FFVI, and yet no one rags on him about it, he destroyed the world because he was crazy and just plain wanted to because he was bored...why dont you blame him while youre at it...the only reason they dont hate Kuja was because he actually managed to succeed even though he was defeated in the end...

  • I never played FFIX, so I didn't know.

  • wait sry not Kuja...i meant Kefka...

Kuja, on the other hand, was afraid of dying but if he was going to die he wanted to take the rest of the world with him..

  • Ah, that makes more sense now.

Well, I didn't find Kefka all that good either, to be honest. It's just that I disliked Sephiroth *more* because it's got a bigger hole in it: you can't rule the world as an all-powerful being if there's no world left to rule after you slam a meteor into it. Things like that should be... you know... kind of obvious.

Whereas Kefka's was just destruction. Poor, yes, but at least it doesn't contradict itself.

  • ah ok...ill accept that...i just hate how people always rag on Sephiroth for his unclear motives when the same could be said for Kefka, just not as much...

  • @sephiroth068

    kinda agree

  • I kinda agree. But Kefka was really insane, so he didn't really need any motives.

  • @Kira2521

Kefka logic: "I'm bored. Oh look, people. DIEDIEDIEDIEDIE WEEEEEEEEEE"

  • @Kira2521 Late response but Kefka was driven insane by an experimental magitek infusion he got before the game started. He became able to use magic but his mind took quite a hit in the process.

  • @sephiroth068 Kuja's motives were very clear...

  • I know that...i had already corrected my self on this bit....please try to read all the comments before posting as there arent on this video...sry for causing any uneeded confusion though

  • If you guys are having problems with Widdershin, I strongly recommend that you collect all of the radiant equipment. My character was a lvl. 64 swordsmen with the radiant and I beat the hell out of Widdershin.

  • >.> im 42 with radiants and excalibur and my party sucks so i keep dying i can take him on but if only the priest would heal me instead of some one who dies in 2 hit Luke and senel loli can take his hits is just that i need to keep heeling mysel with items because the preist heals the wrong person

  • pehaps Widdershin's voice actor, power, personality, and appearance may be simalar to the final fantasy villain "Sephiroth".

  • As a matter of fact, Widdershun has the same hair and clothing color

...Jesus, it seems all evil-power-hungry-villans have white hair and black robes TT

  • Hah this boss is insane XD i beat him with Magic Knight easily though lol he was intense on very hard T_T

  • yeah he can be if you dont know what your doing

  • Well yeah lol you panic the first time XD course you dont know what your doing! and to know what your doing...you just do things your own way it's not like you plan it XD how lame would that be lol

  • yea im lv 83 Warrior its gotten to where he cant even do 100 damage other than Meteor Storm or Big Sword he uses the frist part of the fight

  • Part 2:

Sorry ran out of Character count

it wont work if hes not conor TB will knock him back so make sure he/she/monster is conored and when you get over limt head over the that monster it wil Throw him back Quickly before he gets up Tempest Beast HOLD O AND X AT THE SAME TIME WHILE PROFORMING TEMPEST BEAST and you will preform Inferal Ruin.

this move does about 10 to 13k so useful when fighting a boss other ppl im working on skills now ill fill you in soon Dagger WOOOT

  • Yes it is the Warriors Super move you have to use tempest Beast well thats how i active it you need to be lv 56 to get it but before you do that master all warrior skills you get the final skill before inferal Ruin at lv 56 once mastered all skills you get a message during battle saying youve learned Inferal Ruin.

    Inferal Ruin:

How to use: ok make Tempest Beast your first move in your 4 way move set like this go into overlimt conor a boss so that way it wont

    O Tempest Beast

  • hey is infernal ruin that super move? iv seen other peolpe in my party use it but i never figure out how to do it?

  • the easiest way to beat widdershin (i think) is keep hitting him with demonic chaos (if ur a swordsman) and if ur party dies revive 1 to be a target for him to attack (i know this is kinda cowardly i beat him close up once too tho)

  • yea around lv 60 Warrior your good when you get overLimit go into it and do a move that WILL NOT knock him back otherwise Inferal Ruin will not work but the move must be a master move i do beleave Coner him if you can and Tempest Beast or a master move you prefer and hold down X O before the move ends and you will use Inferal Ruin 10k to 12k

you need to be lv 56 and THEN master all moves or master them as you go

    Warrior lv 56:

all moves will be revealed all you need top do is

  • master all move once you master the last one a message will appear and say You've Learned Inferal Ruin.

    Classes working on now:

    Magic Knight: lv 37

    Swordsman: lv 45

    Dagger

  • xboxadvance360: Tempest Beast IS quite effective on him you get it as Swordsman and Warrior witch ever you are just be sure to max these skills out.

    Tempest Strike

Beast Both 50 times each to get master wait you aready know this haha

  • お!海外版のパッケージじゃないか!!いいなぁw

  • Part 2

Sorry rand out of Character count.

anyway raidant equipment is very useful for those that dont have hard and Very Hard unlocked.

    Hard: Armor weapons 74-104

    Very Hard 146 to 178

Correct me on those lvs if im wrong please Dagger

  • i destoryed him at lv 55 i use a little block move called Magic Block witch blocks most of any magical attack Running around and hoping not to get hit is suscide and i lernd that that cause he finished me off everytime Meteor Shower.

    How to use:

Simple just block as normally. instead press Down on the D-Pad and it will create a forces feild do it again to block it completely. THATS why i beat the game right there you should try it. Also have Radiant Equipment if you 40 to 60.

  • uuguh widdershin i hate him sooooo much i cant even beat him!!a nd on normal tooo i guess thats what you get for being lvl44............. *sigh* i got him down to 6532 using tempast strike and demon fang.... now thats a record!!!

  • lol train more first of all im lvl 55 and i cant beat him and im good at the series XD

2nd i think having you hi ougi would help alot :P

  • Fantastic! I love this music!!

  • Man widdershin is a lot like sephy...but...he has horns O_O

  • yup lol

  • this guy looks and acts like sephiroth

  • lol Sephiroth rip-off. He was, but Widdershin really had quite a bit of potential for being a great villain. If only this weren't a spin off title... Love his battle theme though.

  • Widdershin has many planets absorbed into his being. Also it should be noted, Square copied Tales of Phantasia with FF7 pretty much.

  • Eh, really? I had no idea. I'm one of those people who haven't even played FF7 (I don't really plan on it either.)

  • FF7 was good, It just wasn't original. Phantasia beat FF7 with the story by 3 years
