Emmanuel is ideed great, but I prefer the original version with the vioin which can realy soar, Sorry, friends, but there is nothing Russian about the music. Do you know Franck's other works and the first three movement of this Sonata?

@Klassiskmus it remembers me a movement of Rimsky-Korsakov's Sheherazade. I don't know if it was an improvisation of this duet or if it's part of Franck's piece. Anyway both of the composers were romantic, maybe one influenced the other somehow.

I do not see the reason in presenting this recording, made by an outstanding flautist.

1] It does not reveal the interpretation concept of the whole movement;

2] There are at times discrepancies between the sound/breathing and the visual.

@zdenek1113 In this videos for 'arte' or 'mezzo' he is never playing live, they always replace the original sound with the studio recording. I don't know why, because if you hear him live he is pretty perfect aswell

Io non so come faccia a suonare così forte e mantenere eleganza nel suono oltre che una intonazione sempre perfetta. Poi i cambiamenti di colore sono davvero qualcosa che lo contraddistinguono da tutti. Che musicista!
