  • You have such a soothing voice

  • tell me a bedtime story

  • I thought u meant u were preg when you said 12 13 weeks post

  • Hi! I've just relax my hair. But there's lot of split ends. I don't want to cut my hair. Is it okay to dye my hair with black color?

  • @81Juliean Hi, I wouldn't put any other chemicals in my hair if you are freshly relaxed and experiencing a lot of split ends. I would definitely seek a professional hair stylist to determine the root of the problem and possibly snip some of those dead ends away.

  • is this safe?

  • I have curly/biracial hair! And I can`t find a relaxer that will work in my hair? any tips?

  • @babylauren1515 Guess you need super then, no mild.

  • @babylauren1515 If your hair is fine, I wouldn't relax. There are a lot of YouTubers out here who will show you how to manage your type of hair.

  • You are beautiful

  • @dmcn19 Thank you!

  • I love your voice!

  • @treehuggingzoe Thank you!

  • Hello,

Just a small question... why do you need to relax your hair? What does it do? Sorry, this is coming from someone who has never heard about 'hair relaxing' anywhere. :)

    Thankyou

  • @Flurolamp I used to relax my hair, which softened my curl pattern (so I thought). I have since stopped using chemicals in my hair and is natural for the past year and a half.

  • How often do you tex lax your hair.

  • your teeth are so white may i ask which kind of toothpaste you use.....

  • @Urbansweetheart: Thank you!!! I use Crest Teeth Whitening.

  • @spice1616: It's funny you say that...The video was made 11/08 and I have been transitioning from a relaxer since 08/09. I will soon start posting videos of my transition to NATURAL!!!

  • YOUR HANDS!

  • Good video.

  • Your hair is not a 4a, girl you did not need a relaxer but nice video. Im still shocked by your age you look like your 25!

  • So does "texlax" just loosens the texture?

  • yes but if not taken care it may break

  • i just tried this method

    it came out nice.

it was my first time doing

    my own touch up.

    thanks for the vid.

    saved me money !! lol

  • Where do you buy the Silk Amino Acids from?

  • Wow ur in your 40s!!! you look like 28 or something

  • I agree

  • you didnt need a perm...your new growth didnt look bad

  • i take that back watching part 2 lol

  • what are you talking about senior moments? are you even 30 yet? lol!

  • thx...u r so kind...i'm "in" my 40s

  • @thatgirrl5 OMG! There's no way you're in your 40's! I thought u were at most 26..

  • @liblingsfreizeit: Thank you. Your words are kind.Yes, my birthday is next month and I will officially be in my mid 40s.

  • @thatgirrl5 YOU CANNOT BE IN YOUR 40s!!! OMG!! YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE IN YOUR 20s!!!

  • If I want my hair really straight using Revlon relaxer should I use the mild formula or the regular strength ?

  • It depends on your hair. If your hair is kind of thin, you should probably use the mild. If you have thick hair, you should regular.

  • Is the Phormula-7 a color indicating neutralizer? And is the HydraFuse mainly moisture or is there some protein in there as well? Thank you and make more videos please. U r my hair inspiration! O, and from 4:00 to 4:21 u look like ur 17 years old. Its soooo cute! We get a peek at how you might've look in high school, lol. :D

  • but if you cover your new growth with base creme, will the relaxer still get through? i have the Summit Sensitive Scalp i just haven't used it yet, i was wondering how it works... if the relaxer gets through the base, i mean...

  • Comment removed

  • I'm all for self - relaxing hair , if is done right. I have a question ,what motivate you to do your own relaxer instead of going to the salon?

  • that's a good question...besides my sister and my best friend who are both great stylists/licensed cosmetologists who are phenomenal, i haven't been able to find anyone who (1) didn't overlap and (2) didn't damage my hair with heat... incidentally, they both live in different states than i do. most hair stylists are not taught to properly apply relaxers and i've been to a lot of them. then the price of paying for a relaxer is astronomical. with my sis, i don't have to pay for it.

  • Thank you :-)

  • What do you think of Affirm relaxer?

  • i haven't used affirm but i've heard great things about the relaxer

  • I have natural hair and I want to texlax and if I did my hair like this, would I put that Sensitive Scalp baser stuff on my entire hair, instead of just the root. (I figure not b/c it's called Sensitive SCALP, but..) Just wanted to make sure. Or is it not a good idea to do this at home until your more experienced like you? ANy tips would help. :D

  • i would experience first with applying conditioner to your roots for practice. it may be intimidating the first few times until u get the hang of it.

  • Which Ojon product gave you some breakage?

  • sorry i missed this one...the restorative hair treatment...the coffee smelling "prepoo"...it damaged both me and one of my friends hair exactly in the same spot

  • Where can I get the silk amino acids I started doing my hair at home and I loved this video really you taught me allot and you are very good looking sorr pretty please tell me if I order if you can send me a bottle where I am from I dont think it is available dear I have combed every drug store here in Trinidad and got no luck please sell me a bottle or two of the silk amino ok

  • hello korrisha...thanks so much for watching. u can also use chi silk infusion which will give you the same results or add a little olive oil or conditioner to your relaxer. i use revlon mild.

  • What is lye and girl thank you so much for this video the gods in heaven bless you because who knows youtube needs allot of how to's videos for amateur do your hair at home mothers like me :) smiles please do one showing the best relaxers and kits on the market yesterday I used an olive oil no lye relaxer because I used other lines of no lye and my hair discoloured real badly and got dry and was terrible to style please help?

  • im sorry if i missed anything, but where do you purchase silk amino acids, and the sensitive base cream?

  • your local beauty supply store or sally's

  • Thanx!

  • Where do you get your lye relaxer?

  • Have you ever used no-lye relaxers? I am thinking of jumping on the lye bandwagon. I am learning a lot of reasons why lye is better for the hair.

  • yes i have used no-lye many moons ago... they are very drying to the hair and leave a calcium buildup which will make your hair dry (requiring more moisture). if you do not apply a lot of moisture to your hair, you will have breakage. lye (believe it or not) is much better than no-lye (in my opinion)

  • what is the 4a, 3b stuff u are talkin about?

  • hair type...there is a hair typing chart developed by a stylist which helps people choose the right products/styling methods for their hair

  • Just a question. Why not base the actual scalp, omitting the new growth and also base the treated hair up to the new growth for protection?

  • i did base the scalp...maybe it did not show up on the video. i typically put silk amino acids on my hair as well for added protection.

  • No, I meant why not just the scalp and the treated part of the hair to prevent overlap and sensitivity to scalp, leaving the unrelaxed part without base for processing?

  • gotcha, i think...you want to relax the new growth so if you base it, you risk not processing all the way, if that's what you want to achieve...any oil, conditioner, etc. slows down the relaxing process. i hope i answered it this time ;-)

  • How do you properly store your lye relaxer?

  • in the back of the fridge...it keeps it fresh

  • You are right ,oils conditioner s will slow the process also if you coat your hair with moisturizers hours before a relaxer it also slows the process and stop it too ! Too much moisture in the hair prevent the relaxer from straightening your hair , how do i know I've been there.

  • love the gum chewing...seriously, so cute ;p lol

  • thx...glad u enjoy it...so do i (lol) ;-)

  • Thanks so much for this video. I want to self relax my hair in a couple of months and Im scared lol but this video makes me feel like I can do it.

  • excellent...let me know how it turns out!!!

  • You should always wear gloves when you are dealing with lye. Your skin has pores in it which allows it to breathe and let toxins escape. The same pores will also let chemicals pass through.

  • thanks 4 watching!!!let me know how it turns out

  • im using mizani too its the best them box perms aint doin it...im bout 2 do it tday

  • Thank You for sharing question does the relaxer not burn your hands without gloves I would be scared to try this without gloves .

  • no...it would only burn if you have broken skin...i prefer not to wear gloves so i can feel my roots
