@81Juliean Hi, I wouldn't put any other chemicals in my hair if you are freshly relaxed and experiencing a lot of split ends. I would definitely seek a professional hair stylist to determine the root of the problem and possibly snip some of those dead ends away.
Just a small question... why do you need to relax your hair? What does it do? Sorry, this is coming from someone who has never heard about 'hair relaxing' anywhere. :)
@Flurolamp I used to relax my hair, which softened my curl pattern (so I thought). I have since stopped using chemicals in my hair and is natural for the past year and a half.
@spice1616: It's funny you say that...The video was made 11/08 and I have been transitioning from a relaxer since 08/09. I will soon start posting videos of my transition to NATURAL!!!
Is the Phormula-7 a color indicating neutralizer? And is the HydraFuse mainly moisture or is there some protein in there as well? Thank you and make more videos please. U r my hair inspiration! O, and from 4:00 to 4:21 u look like ur 17 years old. Its soooo cute! We get a peek at how you might've look in high school, lol. :D
but if you cover your new growth with base creme, will the relaxer still get through? i have the Summit Sensitive Scalp i just haven't used it yet, i was wondering how it works... if the relaxer gets through the base, i mean...

you have beautiful hair and your a gorgeous women but you know the chemicals from relaxers seep through your scalp and into your body. they are not good for your health...
that's a good question...besides my sister and my best friend who are both great stylists/licensed cosmetologists who are phenomenal, i haven't been able to find anyone who (1) didn't overlap and (2) didn't damage my hair with heat... incidentally, they both live in different states than i do. most hair stylists are not taught to properly apply relaxers and i've been to a lot of them. then the price of paying for a relaxer is astronomical. with my sis, i don't have to pay for it.
I have natural hair and I want to texlax and if I did my hair like this, would I put that Sensitive Scalp baser stuff on my entire hair, instead of just the root. (I figure not b/c it's called Sensitive SCALP, but..) Just wanted to make sure. Or is it not a good idea to do this at home until your more experienced like you? ANy tips would help. :D
sorry i missed this one...the restorative hair treatment...the coffee smelling "prepoo"...it damaged both me and one of my friends hair exactly in the same spot
Where can I get the silk amino acids I started doing my hair at home and I loved this video really you taught me allot and you are very good looking sorr pretty please tell me if I order if you can send me a bottle where I am from I dont think it is available dear I have combed every drug store here in Trinidad and got no luck please sell me a bottle or two of the silk amino ok
hello korrisha...thanks so much for watching. u can also use chi silk infusion which will give you the same results or add a little olive oil or conditioner to your relaxer. i use revlon mild.
What is lye and girl thank you so much for this video the gods in heaven bless you because who knows youtube needs allot of how to's videos for amateur do your hair at home mothers like me :) smiles please do one showing the best relaxers and kits on the market yesterday I used an olive oil no lye relaxer because I used other lines of no lye and my hair discoloured real badly and got dry and was terrible to style please help?
yes i have used no-lye many moons ago... they are very drying to the hair and leave a calcium buildup which will make your hair dry (requiring more moisture). if you do not apply a lot of moisture to your hair, you will have breakage. lye (believe it or not) is much better than no-lye (in my opinion)
No, I meant why not just the scalp and the treated part of the hair to prevent overlap and sensitivity to scalp, leaving the unrelaxed part without base for processing?
gotcha, i think...you want to relax the new growth so if you base it, you risk not processing all the way, if that's what you want to achieve...any oil, conditioner, etc. slows down the relaxing process. i hope i answered it this time ;-)
You are right ,oils conditioner s will slow the process also if you coat your hair with moisturizers hours before a relaxer it also slows the process and stop it too ! Too much moisture in the hair prevent the relaxer from straightening your hair , how do i know I've been there.
You should always wear gloves when you are dealing with lye. Your skin has pores in it which allows it to breathe and let toxins escape. The same pores will also let chemicals pass through.

Hi! I've just relax my hair. But there's lot of split ends. I don't want to cut my hair. Is it okay to dye my hair with black color?

If I want my hair really straight using Revlon relaxer should I use the mild formula or the regular strength ?
TheNeptunePisces83 2 years ago
It depends on your hair. If your hair is kind of thin, you should probably use the mild. If you have thick hair, you should regular.

I'm all for self - relaxing hair , if is done right. I have a question ,what motivate you to do your own relaxer instead of going to the salon?

i would experience first with applying conditioner to your roots for practice. it may be intimidating the first few times until u get the hang of it.

Just a question. Why not base the actual scalp, omitting the new growth and also base the treated hair up to the new growth for protection?

i did base the scalp...maybe it did not show up on the video. i typically put silk amino acids on my hair as well for added protection.
