@Lunakiri Well it would sorta fit his relationship with Allen. The Earl tricked Allen and ever since then he was trying to kill him. Now since Allen is the host of the Fourteenth, the Earl actually and saved him. The Earl held the same point of view of this song towards Allen. Now since he has "seen the light" a.k.a. found out Allen is the host of the Fourteenth, he has changed his view towards Allen. So if you think about it, it sorta fits the Earl.

I'm guessing you know, as I think everyone here does, that this song was originally sung by Ursula from The Little Mermaid - who makes similarly unfair bargains with people. I never really made any link between Ursula and the Earl before this video though. Guess it could be applied to Hades from Hercules too.
