If the parents weren't divorced, she would probably see him at home. They are called to be the spiritual priests of their homes and so many aren't aware of the huge responsibility they have to God and to their families. Broken families is the norm in today's world and such a huge part of why we see so much hate, dissension and confusion in the world.

This video brought tears to my eyes, even though my dad was a part of my life . . . however, I wish that we'd have seen the little girl's daddy in the picture with them, at the end of the video. It seems like it's just a repeat of the girl's mom's life . . . a vicious circle . . . so sad!
That would have been nice, wouldn't it? But I think the point is that the little girl is the one who will break the chains in her family. Because though she will be raised without a father too, that doesn't mean she has to follow the same cycle. I identity with that little girl in the last scenes, she’s raised without an earthly father, but her mother induces her to her heavenly Father and because of that she doesn’t have the same void her mother did; Jesus filled it. :)
What about dads who desperately WANT to be a part of their daughters lives? Who are being pushed out? What about the kids who are being told daddy has abandoned them but the reality is that every effort by daddy is being pushed away? What about every letter every phone call EVERY attempt to show up for wkends, birthdays, school events, etc, was thwarted & they only see the created "abandonment" What about living in a state where fathers rights are laughed at? All I can do is pray & trust God.

My favorite song right now! This happened to my mom when she was 18...I'm 14 now and I have such a strong relationship with my dad and the Lord which those where the two things that my mom lacked in her life...GOD BLESS! Way to go Casting Crowns!!

I cry every time I hear this. It truly speaks to my life story and testimony so well. I'm 24 and have a 3 month old. She's my world and has changed me so much. I'm no longer with her father and it hurts so much. Getting pregnant made me realize I wasn't living my life for God and He's provided so much for me and I know we'll be fine. He'll always be there for us. Father to the fatherless.

i love this song so much. im 21and ijust got used for sex. dated for a year, thought i was in love, there we were in the mustang one night. that was it he never cared for me after
this man was so flattering and the first time i felt a mans "love"boy it made me feel worth so much then made me feel so worthless i guess never felt my dads presence at home he was always at work and we just dont have a father/daughter relationship.
i hope to minister one day to young girls to find their value in God.

my dad was always there for me, but i never saw it, i have always complained about my horrible birthdays, but i didn't look around at the love in everyones eyes. in a week and a half i will turn 20 and as i blow out my candles i will look into my papa's eyes and see reflected Gods love for me, My dad is the greatest man of God i have ever known, im lucky to call him daddy.

Love this song and Love all these comments I am reading!! :) I csn also relate, my dad was absent from my life during my preteen/teen years. I was luxky if he even remembered to send a card. I also ended up pregnant at 19 & struggled with what to do. I am so thankful I jeot my little princess, she is definitely a gift from God!!

I also didn't have a father growing up. My bio dad didn't want anything to do with me, and my stepdad had to work all of the time. My father died before i turned 1 Years old. i never knew him but i wish i did, i listen to this song about 50 times a week, no exaggerating included. I love the path that Casting Crowns songs are taking first with Courageous, and now this one. Fathers are so important in the home. They are called to be the spiritual priests of their homes and so many aren't aware of the huge responsibility they have to God and to their families. Broken families is the norm in today's world and such a huge part of why we see so much hate, dissension and confusion in the world.

I could cry to this song every time I hear it...I'm the single mom to my amazing, beautiful 2 year old daughter. As the father of a 2-yr old daughter I'm not ashamed to say this video made me cry. My wife and I separated and she has custody of our daughter and they both live in another state now. We're trying to work on our issue to be a family again and I certainly wouldn't want my daughter to grow up like the girl in this video, without a dad.

I came from this family. My dad left us. He cheated on my mom with her sister-in-law. Now I talk to him a little but he pretty much has decided if I don't like his wife (yeah he married her too) then we can't have a relationship. And, sorry, but my mama taught me that if I didn't like something that was going on, then don't be around it. It has caused so much heart ache. I had to be strong for my mom & sister. I never got to hurt when we were kids & now I have gone through the ringer.

Contintued- I met a guy who treated me like dirt but he hung around so I put up with it. We finally broke up and I thought just another man thats going to leave me. I believe though now we are supposed to be together. He was diagnosed with Acute Myalogenis Leukemia. He had no one and was lost as far as knowing God. Sorry this is so long. I am not putting my story out for pity, just to hope someone reads it and it helps them. In all of this I am just learning to love myself and to love God more than him. If you feel alone as I did, don't look for love in a worldly man. Look for love in God, and he will send you a Godly man. My only hopes are that my man finally sees God is ALL he needs. He doesn't even need me with God, I am just an extra.

This song was played at my birthday party earlier. My dad wasn't there for my first birthday, first steps, first words, first dance, he wasn't there to be asked for permission to take me on my first date. Today was my thirteenth birthday, he didn't bother to come. But, you know what..., It didn't bother me as much as you guys were...I knew my real father who will never fail was there. God.

i can relate so much to this song. my dad left 8 years ago. its never been the same. This past year for my 19th bday he didn't even bother to call or text me on my birthday. This video brought tears to my eyes, even though my dad was a part of my life . . . however, I wish that we'd have seen the little girl's daddy in the picture with them, at the end of the video. It seems like it's just a repeat of the girl's mom's life . . . a vicious circle . . . so sad!

That would have been nice, wouldn't it? But I think the point is that the little girl is the one who will break the chains in her family. Because though she will be raised without a father too, that doesn't mean she has to follow the same cycle. I identity with that little girl in the last scenes, she’s raised without an earthly father, but her mother induces her to her heavenly Father and because of that she doesn’t have the same void her mother did; Jesus filled it. :)

What about dads who desperately WANT to be a part of their daughters lives? Who are being pushed out? What about the kids who are being told daddy has abandoned them but the reality is that every effort by daddy is being pushed away? What about every letter every phone call EVERY attempt to show up for wkends, birthdays, school events, etc, was thwarted & they only see the created "abandonment" What about living in a state where fathers rights are laughed at? All I can do is pray & trust God.
