Easy to be critical isn't it? I'm a big FAA fan and Hermes didn't carry Phantoms it's true, but I'd ask those heavily critical to produce their own version of this. For technical achievement, and the fact that it recognises the RN was more about Harriers and Invincible class ships, WELL DONE.
Hmmm... Wif.... Keep the Buccs and Gannets in the 1970s plus add a SHAR detachment for Air defense- better striking power come the Falklands??? Keep Bulwark as LPH. add SHARS- much better outcome in 1982
Where can I get a copy of this version of Jane's Fleet Command? I have a big interest in the Fleet Air Arm and HMS Ark Royal and would love have this simulation. I never realized there was a version like this out there.
Yes, as others have noticed, the ship in this sim is nearest to Ark Royal - definitely NOT Hermes, no doubt about that. Hermes didn't have Phantoms as the deck wasn't big enough for take off and landing for that size aircraft. Nevermind, you can always try again and get it right next time.
Right mate, if you can do better than by all means make your own video, I was just paying homage to the HMS Hermes & Royal Navy that you claimed to serve in, Now just go back to the pub old boy & down another lager . . . .put it on my tab.
Well guys, I was a nmember of the flight deck party on hermes in 1968, and it looked bugger all like this! We didn't have F4K Phantoms for a start, nor any of those other funny little aircraft. We had Wessex iv's on the SAR flight,, Buccaneers, Sea Vixens and Gannets. And that was it. This is the biggest load of bollocks I've seen in a very long time.

And my mate Lofty H, NA(AH3 DN) at the time, will back me up on this!
The Royal Navy brass kicked themselves for not having the F-4K in 82. The Argentinains pilots would have stayed at home and watched the war on T.V. The Harrier did pretty good in the Falklands but only because it carried the Aim-9 sidewinder, without it the Argt's Mirage fighters would have blown them out of the sky. Now the Royal Navy is getting the F-35 J.S.F. . . . . Now that's using your head!
Very true but if the RN still had the old Ark with her Phantoms and Buccaneers instead of scrapping her in 1980 there wouldn't have been a Falklands Conflict.
@Longs81 You are absolutely right; UK's lack of a big carrier was one of Admiral Anaya's main points in convincing his fellow thugs to attack the Falklands. Although I dont know this for sure, but it would not surprise me if ARK ROYAL was still in scrapping process when the Falklands War happened.
i don`t think you are giving enough credit to the fleet air arm pilots, they came to the us with the sea harrier in 1981,and kicked butt, they returned to the uk,did the same to the aggressor squadron based here-,read"sea harrier over the Falklands" by Sharkey Ward,it might just change your opinion a little bit!!!
Hey great video. Just wondered if anybody knows if this game runs on Vista or if there are any patches out there for it as it's an old game

yea, F35 is all round goona be the best plane in the world, and i think they should make a naval variant of the F22 for carrier air superiotity

Very true Longs81! the Hermes & Ark Royal with thier airwings would have been very strong persuaders against aggression!
