  • Is it silly that I love that Ellen's Cover Girl ad came on before this?

  • such an inspiration :)

  • She looks great!

  • ...What has she been in?

  • @Sei1863 ally macbeal , nip n tuck

  • <3

  • I like this...thanks for posting. Being gay was never hard for me. It was people's reaction to my sexuality that was difficult. You do lose people - friends sometimes even family distance themselves or judge you. This is the part that is so heartbreaking for young gay people when they come out. That feeling of rejection and isolation can crush them. I remember. So she is correct in saying that rolemodels are needed. The good news is that it does get better.

  • She's pretty

  • Shes obviously atheist

  • @ProBallistic Why does that matter?

  • @ProBallistic what? and you know this how?

  • thumbs up for alexandra hedison!

  • Portia, you are flawless.

  • Portia is beautiful

  • Yes , all good things coming back again ! Thanks .

  • I can only see Lindsay Bluth

  • I came out during half time at our soccer club. I was so happy. Found out that half the team were fuckin homos as well.

  • She is realistic and intelligent

  • Wonderful and strong woman! Gay people are heroes!!!

  • @TheMamadeira LOL

  • what she is wanting to do for other gay/lesbians is what ellen did for me when she first came out!!! it does work!! and i would give anything to look ellen in the eyes and just say thank you. even if ellen has no idea for what....

  • @ktgrad2007 If u say tanks..I think she will know for sure. ;)

  • why the america naccent, you were brought up in Geelong..

  • @MrSchmindi When she was trying to become an actress/model she decided to speak in an American accent and drop her Aussie accent completely for professional reasons.

  • Go Portia!

  • Whatever

  • @tiswas666 thank you for saying that! It's good to know there are still people who care about their fellow human beings. Life is just hard for me right now because I live in utah(douche central of America). People are very judgmental and "holier than thou" if you know what I mean. I'm just sick if people looking down upon me because I am different. I don't like being seen as a disgusting creature when really I'm just another human who try's to love everyone; no discrimination.

  • Beautiful.

  • @Cheburashka207 I agree completely. It's just like Dwight says, "We need a new plague." Except people like Portia, Ellen, and Lady Gaga should survive- they're the only tolerant ones on planet earth!

  • Uploaded on my birthday, what a gift. :)

  • I'm currently being bullied by my classmates because I asked a girl to a dance. It's ridiculous. Even the administration said I could, but the students are so rude about it. Why do people feel the need to say everything they want to say, even when it hurts the other person so badly. People go out of their way to tell me they disapprove. I'm losing faith in humanity.

  • @BonIverismyangel Welcome to the club

This stinken humanity doesn't deserve to exist

    Atom war is coming!!!

  • @BonIverismyangel please try not to lose hope. the people who are being cruel's opinions are completely worthless. you will find real friends (straight and gay) who will show you that humanity can be the most loving, understanding thing imaginable. you just have to ignore all the douches!

  • thank you portia ♥

  • I wish people wouldn't click thumbs up on the top comment without thinking about it for 10 seconds. How can so many people be so shallow to focus on her eyebrows!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ienjoymasturbating it's jerks like you that women prefer women

  • @ienjoymasturbating I enjoy your username.

  • @ienjoymasturbating you're a piece of shit

  • Oh and guess what people, I'm a catholic too so don't be hatin' on the religion, be hatin' on the religious fucks that can't see that it was in the old testament that said you can't be gay Jesus says to love everyone, including gays!

  • @TellMeMoreGirl AMEN! lol see the irony i did there hahaha no but your so right :) I'm catholic too I'm not gay or bi but i am in support and acceptance of it. People are people! we should love them for individuality! not a stupid label :)

  • I'm bi but I look up to you and Ellen because your strong and free to be who you are. And I havnt come out yet but I will soon. Only a couple of people know. I even know a few homophobes who will shun me but I don't care. Thanks for giving me hope and sterght you two. Love ya!

  • @hannahzena shut up and go pray to your ala or whatever you think is god ok?

  • @LeelooBrasil suck ur mum's tiny left tit bitch!

  • @LeelooBrasil if i wanted r opinion i would stop socking your dads dickl bitch!

  • @hannahzena awww someone has mommy issues.

  • @keyzbeez11 suuck urself nd take shame u homo biatch

  • @hannahzena I'm from New York, our city is thought to be the tip of the knife on fashion, politics, and basically everything else. We recently gave homosexuals the right to marry the ones they love, I hope that you find that one day. Maybe then you'll stop being so angry.

    sincerely,

    Happy and half gay.

  • @keyzbeez11 no just no

  • @keyzbeez11 ur mom bitch!

  • @hannahzena you are such an ignorant idiot

  • @theonewiththevlogs and sooo is your mm bitch!

  • Wow, she's a smart woman.

  • yah... she came back!

  • Will they have kids?

  • I went through a phase where I thought I was bi or les, and I still question it every once and a while. When I told someone how I felt (I felt kinda scared) they just laughed. Everyone would question me and say "ew" but then I realized that if doesn't matter what people think, it's what you like and what makes you happy. I still don't know the answer to my question but I'll know someday and until then it doesn't matter what others think. Thanks for showing me that Ellen!

  • Most of us straights are fine with gays

    Come on out Hollywood scientologists..............

  • you can tell portia really loves ellen :)

  • She is such a massive inspiration to me in so many ways :')

  • What happened to her Australian accent?

  • @ScattySafari She still has it when she says certain words, but she has lived in America for a while and is surrounded by Americans so she sounds more American now.

  • I feel bad for all the actors that thought she was hot before she came out...

  • @AnnaBRProductions101 Don't feel bad coz she's still HOT after coming out, gay or straight, doesn't matter.

  • Heu portia what does ellen degeneres have that i dont? Are you tellin me tenderness?

  • @nebhuskers923 vagina

  • Good god she's gorgeous. Wish i had got there first. :(

  • She is beautiful!

  • how can you dislike this?

  • Everything she says in this video is really beautiful.

  • So glad she wrote her experience down, that book is going to help so many people who feel alone

  • @ultraviol3tt I thought I was the only one who noticed them!!! Lol

  • @ultraviol3tt what's wrong with her eyebrows..they're perfect

  • Portia I have a confession to make, while I did read your amazing book (it's incredible) I probably read 2% with dry eyes, the rest I bawled my eyes out. It was so beautifully written and your (sometimes harsh) views on your body really made me look at how I look at my own body and I realised that I had that same vicious voice in my head. I am so glad you've found the light at the end of your tunnel sweetheart, I admire you and wish you all the best in all you do! <3 xoxo

  • She should have said in the end "she came back and i am really lucky that shes my spouse rigjt now"

  • The concept of 'sin' was invented by religious folk so unless your religion's a fascist ideology and not a religion, I suggest you keep your religious rubbish to yourself and don't burden other ppl Ith your religious restrictions. The ONLY thing that counts are the laws of a country; only in backward countries, being gay is a crime so that kinda says it all does

  • I love the way she says "everything." Ugh, I wish I could marry both Portia and Ellen. They're so wonderful.

  • wow,

I love that, such a lovely person!

    lucky Ellen :))

  • LISTEN religious people!!! I am a christian and an asexual. God does NOT judge anyone and neither should you. people are different. Going to heaven has nothing to do with being a good person, being straight or anything so leave her and everyone else alone. No one is born gay, straight, or bi. Your orientation has everything to do with your emotional situation as you develope. It is who you are, not a behavior that is learned or picked up. Can it change? Yes; but highly unlikely.

  • @SirRobbins

Bullshit, people shouldn't judge but God does. In the bible it says very clearly that homosexuality as an abomination before God's eyes. I'm not judging anyone, but if you are really a Christian you would probably know and agree with that. Christian gays exist and they will go to heaven... but they will be judged. Homosexuality is a sin, according to the bible... you say your a Christian, so you know that God does not think it's okay

  • @Bakercakes77 You believe a book that has been translated over and over throughout centuries and has no actual true foundation or concrete source to back it up. God says not to judge and that we are all made in his image. So why are homosexuals not included in that? People like you are everything that is wrong with the world....holding so true to a book rather than just being a good person and caring about humanity. I am straight but I truly believe that homosexuals are better people than you.

  • @13AnaBan I'm sorry you think that. I came off too strong in my first comment. But regardless of whether or not you think the bible is true or not, I was merely stating that the bible says homosexuality is a sin... It was a reply to the first comment. The bible is firm on it's teachings. And yes, I believe in the bible... doesn't mean you have to.

  • @Bakercakes77 I am Catholic and go to Church on a regular basis. However the Bible is extremely contradictory and I therefore cannot not put my faith into that. Okay, homosexuality is a sin? But they are people, just like heterosexuals. So are they not supposed to be treated equally? In the image of God? Love thy brother and sister? It's completely contradictory and condemning unless you stay on the straight and narrow. No pun intended.,

  • @13AnaBan Everyone should be treated equally to a point (a criminal would go to jail for breaking the law... thus being treated differently) However, we are all equal in God's eyes, and as people we should not judge others.

As for the bible being contradictory, all I can say is that I believe that the bible is the living word of God. The bible never says to condemn people for not staying on the straight an narrow, it tells us to love each other.

  • @reachall wow, you have completely missed her message. She's saying that she doesn't care if you accept her for who she is or not.

  • I'm Catholic and support homosexuality. It's not impossible. You just have to have your own beliefs and not be a slave to the Church's. If something is wrong in the Church and you believe it's wrong, you have to stand up for it and deny Church beliefs. I do this a lot.

  • Why are always the Christian people(especially homophobes) starting a discussion about gay people! jaelous that you cannot come out or something! just shut up about gay people and read your bible instead of saying stuff like that or just don't watch this clip stupid homophobes...i really hate you homophobes!

  • @20simoontje wait, are you saying all christians are homophobic and all homophobes are christian?

  • @TheDowntown86 just GTFO

  • 0:01

  • Portia is such a beautiful person, inside and out. I've been a fan of Ellen's for years. I'm so glad they have eachother. They seem so in love.

  • That is 1 omega beautiful woman no man will ever touch ._. shame.........

  • @AceHalford

It's not a shame. She's found the love of her life, Ellen.

Love is love and for you to say that is awful.

  • @iRunWithLife Lol mate, I didn't mean any offense I meant that in a comedic way, I'm very proud she came out and shes happy and she's met her love 1 =) it's just she is not just incredibly beautiful she seems uptight, strong, dependable and everything, a man would love to have a woman like Portia, when I said no man will ever touch her, it was more of a funny gesture =)

  • If you're going to come out... Who says you have to tell everyone? Tell the people you love most... You dont have to let your whole class know... Just the ones closest to you...

  • Wtf she raised in Australia no accent??

  • @NothingSkeleton my boyfriend is Aussie, grew up in Aussie but he doesn't has the accent. It's common

  • I would like to come out, but I'm not brave enough :/

I'm scared of the reaction of my classmates :(

  • "Someone like _me_ could do it."

    That is all.

  • love the voice....and shes hot

  • they make such a cute couple

  • Just watching Arrested Development and i love the show, i'm glad she found happiness. I am bisexual myself and working on coming out in some time and people like her inspire me

  • gorgeous gorgeous lady:)

  • how the hell did i get here

    portia is amazing though :)

  • Comment removed

  • Ellen is the funny one and Portia is the beautiful one. They are so cute together. I've never seen a couple more happy

  • she is the hottest gay person I know, good for her x

  • @ConnorJP728 i dont agree, her wife ellen is :D but she is the close second

  • I dont get whats not to love about gays? Why cant we be tolerant? They are friggin people and what they do behind closed doors is no ones business. Your a person who loves the same gender, no biggy :)

  • 35 Dislikes?

    1. I Dislike her clarity of communication?

I always liked her as a comedic actress, but after seeing this clip, I am a fan. She is so thoughtful, grounded, and open in a non-sensational way. Damn, now I miss Better Off Ted, she had hilarious scenes

  • I think Ellen & Portia are cute together, but personally I think Portia's cuter. But I love Ellen's sense of humor! ;)

  • Thats what happens when you marry Tobias Funke.

  • wow, they're adorable together, Portia has Ellen whipped ^^

  • The bible and god tell the people to not judge and be happy. The thing about being gay is wrong is becouse the church. The church was and stil is afraid of the unknown and that thing that the church is afraid of is an obstacle to run the world. So beleve in god dont judge and be yourself.God loves every one of us just the way we ware born.

  • Both Portia and Ellen are going to heaven.

  • @Grandlnquisitor7 There's no such thing as heaven.

  • @Joeyg143 that is your own opinion but in this occassion you are overruled.. there is a heaven, and ellen and portia will definately be going there.

  • @Grandlnquisitor7 ellen is SO going to heaven for all the great things she does!!

  • @Grandlnquisitor7 r u crazy!!!!!!

  • @Grandlnquisitor7 well please God they will!

  • I do encourage people to embrace their feelings--heterosexual or homosexual, and I also believe they should not be stripped of their rights as people just because of sexual orientation. However, there are rights that homosexuals are not be entitled to... one of them is is marriage. We know this because marriage is a right retained by Christians... and you can't theoretically be a Christian if you're a homosexual. But i haven't thought any deeper than that so just respect the major religions guys

  • @ShadeKangaroo Marriage isn't a Christian rite or right. There have been ritualised monogamous unions for as long as we've been a predominantly monogamous species, which far predates Christianity.

It's not even a solely religious rite. I'm not religious, neither are my parents, they were legally married 30 years ago in a civil ceremony, Christ or Allah or whoever had nothing to do with it. We live in a society of law, not religion, marriage is a legal right, and should be open to homosexuals.

  • @ShadeKangaroo That makes a total of zero sense. People who aren't Christian get married all the time. Should we strip them of their marriage rights, as well?

  • @TechnicolorYear It makes absolute sense. If it was designed by a Christian deity, for Christians, then anyone who is not a Christian is not entitled to the right to utilize it (other major religions have variances of marriage to which they are entitled the rights). Concerning religion I keep a completely open mind, but this is an issue where the line must be drawn. This is why we have partnerships such as civil unions.

  • @ShadeKangaroo So all those people who aren't Christian and are married, aren't really married in God's eyes? That strikes me as a judgmental point of view, that God denies rights to anyone who isn't Christian.

  • @TechnicolorYear No one said anything about God denying anyone rights. Once again, denying someone rights implies that the person had such rights naturally, and since it specifically states that homosexuality is an abomination to God in the Bible (assuming the Bible tells the truth), and SOCIETY has taken strictly to this interpretation, homosexuals can not be Christian, and so are not subject to the right of marriage. Re-read my previous comment concerning your first statement.

  • @ShadeKangaroo Everyone has equal rights. We were all BORN with equal rights. God says all men are created equal. Guess you didn't study that part. Stop using God to justify your prejudices.

  • @TechnicolorYear I'm not sure you know exactly what prejudice is, given the way you utilized it there. Also I did not use God to justify anything. Since marriage is a sacred ceremony under God, it implies that one must comply with and live the "life of a Christian". If you are a homosexual you are not living by that standard. So then we can say that because you are not following the rules you have been stripped of specific privileges. I am also not personally discriminate towards gays.

  • @ShadeKangaroo You're always going to believe this, so there's no point in me trying to change it now, anyways. It's a waste of my time and your time. I just don't see how a God of love would favor certain people over others. Last time I checked, that is not perfection. You still haven't addressed the fact that God says all people are equal. He didn't say "everyone but homosexuals." If you're going by that, then he also says tattoos and hair dye are wrong.

  • @ShadeKangaroo So in that case, people who dye their hair can't technically be Christians, either. People also used God to justify slavery, you know.

  • She's so intelligent

  • shes BEAUTIFUL !

  • @TheSun19901 I'm glad you realise what you wrote was wrong, sorry for calling you an idiot, but you angered me SO much!

  • It's beyond insane that gay people have to fight for the same rights heterosexuals have. First of all, equal rights have NO EFFECT on heterosexuals what so ever. Secondly, you have to be a real arrogant asshole to think you earn more rights just for being heterosexual.

And for all you religious idiots being against gay marriage: it's the 21st fucking century. Forget your ancient texts and try fitting in the current time.

  • @TheSun19901 Wow! I actually feel sorry for you, it must hurt being such a stupid idiot?

  • It's so encouraging how our society has grown. Gay people used to have absolutely no place, and now more and more people are fighting for equal treatment/rights. Almost there.

I also love when she talks about how brave Ellen is. Can't you just see the light in her face? :)

  • @TechnicolorYear - Our society has "grown"? Into what? Watch a Gay Pride Parade and tell me what is "encouraging" about such behavior. If heterosexuals exhibited their sexuality in such a way people would, rightly, call them degenerates. What makes gay people immune to the same label for doing the same thing?

  • @UGalum I do believe I made clear what our society has grown into, if you read anything in my comment other than the word "gay." And FYI, heterosexuals DO exhibit their sexuality in "such a way." Welcome to pop culture. Why shouldn't homosexuals, then?

  • @TechnicolorYear - Name the public setting where heterosexuals display such behavior and aren't labeled as degenerate.

  • @UGalum Nowhere did I say they weren't labeled degenerate. However, straight people have the right to marry in the U.S., no? Straight people aren't called freaks because of who they fall in love with. Straight people don't have to fight to be seen as equal by the world. Straight people aren't told they're going to hell for their sexual orientation. And last but not least, straight people aren't judged for what they were born with.

  • @TechnicolorYear - Straight people aren't abnormal. Look the word "normal" up in the dictionary and try telling me that gay people fit the definition. You won't be able to. And gay people who partake in those "Pride" parades are degenerate.

  • @UGalum Falling in love is normal. What isn't normal is hating people for falling in love.

Who are you to say if someone's degenerate or not? You don't know the first thing about them. I assume you believe Playboy Bunnies are degenerate, as well? Because if not, you've got an obvious case of prejudice to fix up. Why don't you concentrate on yourself and making yourself the best person you can be, and THEN when you're Jesus you can tell people they're degenerate and wrong.

  • @TheSun19901 Clearly closet gay. Clearly.

  • @TheSun19901 I love gay girls and i hate men like you!

  • I'd gladly go live on a continent, just me and Sarah Palin.

  • @CrackThoseClaws Oh no, you don't! Take EVERY Evangelistic twatface sheeple, and Faux News reporter with you!

  • Some guys/men need to understand not all women think men are the best thing since sliced bread, even goodlooking women like Portia. Being a judgeMENTAL creature is sick and disgusting.
