and it´s true, he played a weak & insecure character in Ronin. but if you think about it, it´s really difficult to play such a character. at least more difficult than a smart & tough guy. the movie works so well because all actors do a great job, including the one playing the "shithead".

Great Action film from the 90's. Robert De Niro's character was smart and so quick-witted. Loved him very much. Jean Reno, Natascha McElhone and others did a great job too. Our modern Actions are horrible. Even B-grade films & Made-For-TV movies in the 90's were 100x better than modern so-called "Blockbusters" from Hollywood.

Since I adore Jean Reynaud, and Robert DeNiro ain't bad either, I loved this. Also I watched it in French.. because it takes place in France... in all my old haunts that I know so well... Le Vieux Nice, Le Cote d'Azur, Arles, and Paris. I kept looking for the pig with the broken ear wearing a backwards baseball cap on the merry-go-round, but couldn't see him.
