Ulduar, the best raid ever made. Easy bosses, harder bosses and the hardest bosses ever ! Algalon, Mimiron HM, and Yogg-Saron 0 keeper who was defeated only by one guild in the 3.1 : Stars. And they was overstuffed. So It was the best raid ever and the hardest raid ever. Fuck C'Thun, he was bugged.

I am on the frensh f@&€ing Ner'Zhul realm. It is not possible to go to Ulduar : they go only for the mount or Algalon. I miss the too short 3.1 so much ;(

@Ozran50 Ulduar wasn't the hardest raid ever, that honor goes to Naxxramas pre-wotlk, only 5% of raiders ever entered it when it was current content. Sunwell Plateau was also harder, mostly because of Mu'ru and KJ. Lich King Heroic also takes the cake from good old Yoggy and Algalon. Difficulty isn't equal to a good raid, like you said a good raid has a mix of both easy, medium and hard bosses, Ulduar sure had that, and was better than SWP, Naxx and ICC.

From the moment you step into ulduar, pure epicness just consumes you. The epic score that plays when you zone in with the amazing sky and the architecture just blew me away. Ulduar was an amazing achievement by blizzard.

this should've been the transition raid to Cata, not Ruby Wank-tum. ICC doesnt even come close to Ulduar, ICC = Zone buff retardfest. Ulduar was the last raid in Wrath that required skill and coordination to clear.

ICC was almost as good as this place. It's just easy to look at Uld with rose-colored glasses because we didn't burn out as badly as we did on a YEAR of icc. Technically speaking, icc is on par.

Music-wise, however, nothing is on par with Ulduar. Best music ever ingame.

@TheLabrador While you are right, that it is easy to look at Uld with only fond memories, the content and mechanics of it were probably the most fluid, and easily the best designed raid Blizzard has done to date. The new raids in Cata have some interesting mechanics, and they learned their lesson from AVR: E, that they can make encounters more difficult so long as visual cues are given. That doesn't change the fact that everything in Uld's fights were the best executed fights by design period

Ulduar is the Wrath equivalent to AQ in terms of size and epicness. It just truly SUCKS that the second ToC came out this place was utterly forgotten. I'm ashamed to say that I have not finished this entire place, and I want to. And I will, eventually. If people on my server weren't such dicks saying "Dude, Ulduar doesn't drop anything good." and not understanding that raids exist to be experienced and enjoyed. I'm praying that Cata raids don't go by the WoTLK Raid philosophy.

Only sad thing about Ulduar is that they brought up PDC/PDK to early and nobody went to Ulduar anymore so most players never even came close to the most epic parts espacily the Algalon event...... I mean honestly the celestial Planetarium is the one most epic room they ever created

You know, while I do like ICC very much, I have to say that Ulduar is the best raid ever created to WoW. I mean just look at the place. It looks gorgeous, it has awesome epic music, awesome epic bosses (especially I like the keepers and Kologarn). It feels as if Blizzard wanted to impress people. This was also one of the few raids with proper story (And by proper I mean that there is very good reason why you should go and kill Yogg-saron and defeat Algalon), other being SWP.

You got this right, there are a lot of sweet raids in WoW but Ulduar probably tops them all off, especially once you enter the Antechamber and Yogg Saron's prison. Also like you mentioned at the end, Sunwell Plateau. GREAT raid also! Beautiful, bright, Ulduar is kind of the opposite in that it is dark, but they are both certainly gorgeous raids! Raid that is overly-hyped: Naxx. Ew.

no trash = less epics and less spells used in raid,played lock and got bored of using aff and destro... plot got ridiculous when there is AT near lick king zone and he does way too little to take that chance to pwn us and no it isnt main story, it was actually a filler instance and filler lore to keep us busy while we were waiting for ICC. raiding toc and changing guilds lots of time (searching for better guilds) made me realize how most raiders on wow are retarded and can't do heroic modes.

you talk about vanilla wow and unfortunatly i don't know what playing it is like, i started wow 2 months before wotlk came out so i only raided in wotlk and it's boring raiding normal modes, as for hard modes i wasn't able to find other 24 good players enough to even try 25 man hardmodes...was able to make some 10 man hm but i dont rly like raiding with 10 man, i like a challenge but i can't play for other ppl in raid...

ToC is good on its own, I like the whole jousting theme but its painfully little contentwise. A halfway decent raid guild could do 10-10hc-25 and 25hc modes in a single evening.

Azjol-Nerub would've been epic, we caught glimpses of it. Its supposed to be a HUGE cavern system under whole Northrend, plenty of ideas to exploit, like Old God lore, nerubian lore, and dark, slimy skittering horros in the dark. Actually, the whole friendly nerubian faction is three NPCs.

Also, why Gun'drak isnt a raid? back in beta there was quests about the snake-god Jörmungadr and his followers. Then, the orchestrating the whole god-killing in Zul'drak was left unfinished.

Utgarde Keep should've been a raid to, we had a race of ferocious, mysterious and very-very ancient race of warriors with and forgotten runic magic. They could've used some extra nordic lore to make them more detailed but no, we are farming their king who is the strongest member of a warrior race.
