  • Does anyone know the requirements to be a pilot for the BAS Air Unit?

I'd rather much go into flying for these than commercial piloting.

    Mike

  • I actaully work on those four twin Otters. They have been in Calgary, AB Canada, over the summer for some heavy maintenance checks.

  • You may know my brother, David, who piloted BL, and who this year will not be on his way South, having retired.

  • Great Vid! Is that where those aircraft are based when they are not out on survey in the Antarctic?

  • What time of the year do they come back to this airport?

    please TB

    cheers

  • The operating season in the Antarctic is mid October to late February/early March. They return to whoever has the maintenance contract at the time which will not necessarily be at Oxford.

  • I see, I wish they would come into Plymouth airport, EGHD, cheers for geting back to me on that question.

by the way its a good video you got there.

  • those planes are cool!
