part of the reason for the double release was that they fulfilled his contract with Columbia/Sony. He negotiated a much better deal after these were released.
You could see Bruce's energy level wasn't as big as when he played with E Street, but still he managed to take a mediocre song and energize it to new heights in concerts
Roy Bittan wrote the music for this song. Springsteen wrote the lyrics. One of the very few songs that Springsteen didnt write the words and the music.
During this time Bruce was looking for SOMETHING-He was Never happy not being w/ the E/STREETS BAND-but i liked the both albums-He is a true artist.Great song..
bruce one of the best songwriters ,performers of all time and this song is another example of his amazing depth on this song as well as this performance i was at these shows and they where just amazing thank god for bringing us bruce springsteen
@934johno i agree that the e street band belongs with him on stage, but at the same time i think it was good for him to explore other things and other bands so he could become a more complete artist. Also I think these two albums are pretty good. Point is, he's back with the band now and they are all better than ever, so all is well!
@RockGod815 I agree - one of the great things about Bruce is how he tries different things and how his band (or lack of band with Nebraska and other albums) drives the way he goes. "Change is the only constant" :)
bruce is finally doing the river in order Nov 8 and I am hoping he will play some of human touch and lucky town with the E St band .. that would be ground breaking . I don't know of Bruce and the E St ever doing any of those cuts from those LPs.
For anybody who is interested Bobby is a Gospel singer now. He is in his 60's now and is even more amazing now than when this was done. He is my husband's Uncle and I am going to see if he will let me make a couple videos for his fans to be able to hear his new stuff. Send me a message and let me know if you would like to hear his new music. If you go to myspace and look up babiesinjesus, you will see newer pics of Bobby along with other family members of ours, in our photo slide show.
2 albums released in 1992, LT N HT. Why the stick? okay some songs on human touch were poor because of over studio production... lucky town was and is a forgotten masterpiece. But none of that matters with this concert... this shows that all the songs had incredible potential this sounds bludy brilliant! the sheer energy of it!
I love bruce an seen him with seeger sessions once an twice with e street in dublin, but i gotta say i hate the band hes with here, really hate them!they dnt suit bruce, great songs still
love this song~!

MartyMartin87 1 year ago
@MartyMartin87
"a little slap here" he is asking for some more effect on the mike... Nils was very far away then...

You and me and lady luck well tonight

Drinkin' champagne on ice
In just another roll of the dice.
Just another roll of the dice...

He looked incredibly sexy in the early 1990's. *g*
