Very cool! Loretta and Peggy Sue's brother! I have a Peggy Sue 45 and also her LP record Dynamite. She should have been bigger. I love her voice as much as Loretta's and Crystal's.
I noticed at the 0:09 second mark that Jay Lee Webb's sister, Peggy Sue, is also listed on the charts. Her songs are "Dynamite" (1969) and "Love Whatcha Got At Home" (1971). If those are the original charts, you should also be able to find Jay Lee's other sister, Crystal Gayle, somewhere on there...her first chart song was "I've Cried the Blue Right Out of My Eyes" (1970).
Thanks for giving us a rare listen to Jay Lee Webb....one of the 4 Webb kids (Loretta Lynn, Peggy Sue, Crystal Gayle and Jay Lee) who recorded on Decca in the 1960s-70s. Although Jay Lee only recorded 2 albums (1967 & 1969), he released singles through the 70s. One of those singles can be found here on YT (Don't Blow That Horn Gabe - Decca 1971).
That thing is awesome! I can't believe how well the tonearm/cartridge tracks with the 45 wobbling around so much - AND VERTICLE, NO LESS!!. Great sound.
I'd like to see some of today's turntables play a record while they flipped over on their side (verticle) like this one.
This is fun!! He is a great vocalists!
