Also is this her permanent enclosure? I think you should give her proper substrate like coconut fiber or reptile bedding so they can dig burrows and can be more happier... Newspaper should never be used.
right..and they hide in under rocks, which have to be burrowed. Like I said I owned geckos and I keep nocturnal tarantulas and that's what they do. Even you yourself would never keep them on newspaper.
I don't know how it would cause lung infections on a gecko. Would probably impact babies, coconut is not loose substrate if you upkeep it right. I mean I own tarantulas, which are far delicates animals and they do best on coconut fiber. I don't see how geckos would die from this. Newspaper has it's perks and its easy to clean and the lizard doesn't digest substrate, but it doesn't seem natural..and you need to provide sufficient humidity.
@Jon3800 Jon what part of having loose substartes in a leopard gecko tank. LG´s are form iran which is based in a rocky substarte and you give em fuckin!!cocunut fiber, is horrible it may cause mucus on youre leos and, as you know humidity holds too much cold air so if you would be cold at 10 degrees and you get a cold you will get sick right?as same as youre leos well my conclusion is... HAPPY IMPACTION!!!:)
Geeze dude, calm down. I didn't know that loose substrate are bad for geckos, and there's no point in getting pissy about something I don't know. Maybe I should act the same way towards you if you're getting into tarantulas and you're asking me for advice. Its a learning experience man.
Don't assume I have leos because I don't...I was considering on getting one, but I changed my mind after what you told me. I'll stick to what I have. Good day
The reason you took a shit because you're jealous of my channel. So what..Look at my views. Thanks for taking the time to going onto my channel and earning me money. You call yourself ReptilesHerpes but where's videos of your herps? All I wanted was clarification on substrate and why coco fiber isn't good, then you come along and act like a smartass and blatantly assumed I had a Leo. I just wanted info, not pitiful remarks like Happy impaction. Sheesh
Oh for heaven's sake earning money MAKING tarantula videos. I don't just MAKE videos on how to sex tarantulas. I make educational videos on how to care for them, just like Holliskid23? God, you must have a lot of free time on your hands in pitiful attempts to bash me. Ya, it's pretty pathetic when that you're betting $50 on a facebook game when I'm here getting double that for something I love to do. Oh, it wouldn't hurt to get a lesson on respect..but then again you're a kid
Nice video but really edit the stuff that's not necessary. No one needs to know that you're filming on an empty stomach. Eat up then make a video. Don't worry...youtube isn't going anyhere hehe
Lol..the only time my leo tried to bite me was when I tried to pick him up after eating meat for dinner, and it barely hurt. Even though leopard geckos have teeth, their best defense is always whipping you with their tail or disconnecting their tail from their body. And if they do that to you and you don't leave them alone for a while, they would likely get stressed out which could lead to not eating, and more aggressive behavior. So, it's not about showing them whose boss, it's about keeping y
i try to hold my new juvenile leopard gecko but he hates it! i actually dropped him one time because he jumped out of my hand but i think hes ok. hopefully he will get used to me:(
@HOLLISKID23 Could you help me with my eloprd gecko and see if you could identify his actions I will try to make a video about it if you could help me that would be great
I read that you aren't supposed to grab your gecko from above because in the wild that's how they get picked up before they are eaten. I'm not sure if it's true, but it was in a book. Do you know if it's true?
@AirDogStar It is true, and if you grab your gecko that way, it may let it's tail fall off to a natural reflex when you grab it.. in severe cases (as I have read on professional care sheets) they could even drop off a limb. Grabbing any small reptile from above is wrong, they should be swooped up from the side with full support to body, legs and upper part of the tail... anyway that's just good advice so..
oh and yes, you do talk too much, you'll grow up to be a real nagging woman someday! =D
@jessmjfan989 Mine is skittish when I handle her, too. It's best to just leave them in their cages. Some just prefer not to be handled, and we need to respect that so that they can be happy. I still love my gecko even though I can only watch her and not hold her.
LOL When my baby is older I gotta tame them. They will bite me a lot. They don't hiss, and they'll come up to me when I go up to the glass, and once i FINALLY get them out to clean the cage they're all x3 okay... you win... until I put them back in.
i just got a new gecho besides the fact he hasnt eaten he is really good he seems a tiny bit spooked when i try to grab him but he is actually really cool hes chill and loves crawling up my arm to my shoulder i think when hes grown hell be awesome
@jadix3579 Umm... you probably mean they're not MAMMALS, but reptiles are of course animals. It's like saying birds aren't animals, they're birds. Lol. XD

I am having a problem with my leopard gecko he is 5 months old. At first he let me carry him now wen i try he runs or as soon as i touch him he will turn back and try to bight me. Also he is always hungry so i thinkk is because he thinks am food can u help pleaseeee
@1animalsrock Give him time, Leo's don't like to be handled too much. 5 months is still pretty young, just feed him and leave him alone (let him mature a bit), then over time gently pet him and let him get used to your hand. He should eventually stop trying to bite you and he will start licking you. Hope this helps.
that is not a mean gecko mine would try to run like hell if you didn't have a light grip on her. and she squirms a lot then she calms down i release the light grip i had on her and let her just sit in my hand and then 15 seconds later her Fully Supported tale starts wiggling and then she starts wiggling like crazy and bitting angain. PLEASE HELP!
well i tried to hold my gecko a few times an he really doesn't like it and well (this is wath i think about it) a gecko is still a wild animal that doesn't need to be handelt it stresses them handel a dog a cat but a gecko isn't an animal to be handelt its 2 fredgile

I'm honestly a little scared of my gecko after he bit my brother 3 times! So now I don't know how to start to tame him. Anyone got some tips on where to start?
oh yeah i got a leopard gecko a couple days ago and im trying to tame it and it keeps on running away and i think its gettin stressed when i try to handle it. is it geting stressed ? please reply

@oVPSYCHOVo666 baby geckos are bit crazy so start out with cage feeding and wen you try to pick it up pick him up from underneath and do the hand over hand technique .
I was told they dont bite, and on another story, I didnt think that other ppl got bit, I also got bit, but I think my Leopard gecko was mistaking my hand for food, because i fed them alot before i got that food dish that you use for water

@CGvidWorld My tips are to take it slow, even though the gecko might be nut and jumping everywhere just stay relax if the gecko see that your scared and panicking the gecko will panic too just take it slow that what i did
my leo is a baby and i just got her two days ago she will not eat is it because she hasnt adapted yet or am i doing something wrong...and do i just need to leave the crickets in overnight?? Plz help! :)
@MyPetLiger its natural for your gecko not to eat right away and secondly NEVER leave crickets in your tank over night. if u dont take care of the crickets right they will literally eat your leopard gecko. try to put in 1 cricket at a time until its more comfortable then try a few more

my leo is a baby and i just got her two days ago she will not eat is it because she hasnt adapted yet or am i doing something wrong...and do i just need to leave the crickets in overnight?? Plz help! :)
MyPetLiger 2 years ago
@MyPetLiger its natural for your gecko not to eat right away and secondly NEVER leave crickets in your tank over night. if u dont take care of the crickets right they will literally eat your leopard gecko. try to put in 1 cricket at a time until its more comfortable then try a few more
