Just after a white belt learns Ki Cho Hyung they should be made to watch this. I usually put this on before I go to practise my forms. Always inspiring.
I train with KJN and if you don't know what he means by "practice for dying," then he would probably say that you need more practice to fully understand it. Keep practicing a lot and one day you will know what it means. It's also called or closely related to "empty cup" training. I didn't know what it meant for years--YEARS!--and then it came to me during a two-hour intensive practice and I knew what he meant.
basic knowledge it may be but the basics are the most important! look at Ki Cho hyung which holds the basic principles applied across the whole art. For me the beginner forms and techniques are the most important to try and perfect as it will lead to a better understanding of what you will learn in the advanced syllabus and also your body will be better prepared for the punishment ahead!!!!
What I was really remarking on is that people in my dojang not only didn't practice these enough but couldn't even come to an agreement on what the quotes actually meant.
This is an amazing video. I am a DBN in Kuk Sool and I have meet KJN Sung Jin Suh, I just recently had a test under him, and he is an amazing person. I really want to use these as quotes of the day at our school or something like that.
Thank you, this video is very inspiring.

His quotes are pretty basic knowledge but it's still stuff that people don't work on enough.
