Sam gets plenty of hugs and kisses... And he is the one who turns on the radio.... If I try to turn it off or turn down the volume he just turns it right back on, or turns up the volume. He can follow commands quite well, and usually uses a tissue to blow his nose... But I didnt have any in the car that day. We have since moved out of the Midwest and to a southern state where he can be outside most of the time, so very few car rides are taken anymore.
Hi, I'm trying to bring awareness to autism and on my way I found this great new independent film called "White Frog". It centers around a boy who has "aspergers" it's a form of autism. I loved the trailer so much I created this youtube channel for it. Please please take a few minutes out of your day to check the trailer out and help me get the word out. Just type in "White frog movie trailer 2" on youtube. Thank you sooo much for your help
Hello - I have an 19 year old son with Autism and I am a Headteacher of a Special School - I think there are alot of stimuli in this situation - the car, movement, the stereo, the requests not to pick his nose and he has to make a decision about going - if the aim is to reduce anxiety, stims etc..then perhaps no stereo and no verbal input on decision making -then as parents I am sure you have thought this through - so maybe i should .......
He said the word go once already and it seems like he would just like to be left alone instead of being humiliated with the nose picking comments and the stimming references.
Poor Sam he looks exhausted. I hope he and his family are doing very well
