@brentonio Breaking is still street, but "hip hop" dancing is a blend of all genres of dance now, lyrical, modern, jazz, even some ballet movements, and in order to be a current choreographer, you have to be able to adapt with changing styles of dance. All i do is dance and choreograph for a living, and you are a little ignorant of how the dance world really is. why dont you take some classes and educate yourself on more than just michael jackson videos, and see what I mean.

Freestylin, (what your referring to as street dancing) is a seperate artform in itself. Most dancers cant freestyle, and most freestylers cant do choreography. But now it's lost all of its meaning because it's a dumbed-down version of the real thing.

But if you can't freestyle as a dancer, then you aren't really a true dancer, because true dancing is based on feeling the music in the moment. True dancing is not about making up little movements to lyrics and rehearsing it over and over until you can do it right. If you can't dance in the moment to any random song that is playing, then you can't dance, it's as simple as that.

ALL freestylers can do chore, because being a freestyler allows you to put together an enormous amount of moves/techniques/feelings/groo­ves that you have learnt in order to be an effective freestyler. As for you teaching me, you needn't bother: I've learnt enough from you here to know you have no idea what you're talking about.

I've been dancing 18 months doing chore, never freestyled and didnt put much practice into it because I was never called on to do it, I just accepted that I probably can't do it right now but I'd do some eventually. Last week I battled with friends who freestyle and I was really lost! Its something my mind will have to get used to with practice, I think I will enjoy it more when I get used to it. I will practice!
