It is my humble opinion that although the Beatles are a huge legend in the music industry, there are certain times when cover versions sung by other singers can be better than their version. For example, we tend to think "the Carpenters" when we hear the song "Mr Postman", but in reality, the Beatles did an earlier version which was not that popular compared to the Carpenters. For this song, I have heard the version sang by John Lennon, and Charice's version appeals more to me.

GAPSTEAD: I agree with you that the Beatles is a legend and nobody could ever beat that in our lifetime. However, what I said is that "I like her version better" because the original (beatles) is "soulful and dark" (which means to me, it is very sad). Which does not diminish anything from the Beatles version but rather it is a personal choice to me only. When I am in a soulful and dark mood, I'll play the Beatles version. But when I am in a fighting mood, I'll play Charice's version.

This is a great arrangement. I like this better than the original which is very soulful and dark. Her rendition is saying that although the are good and bad moments in one's life, life must go on and the love/life becomes more meanigful because of them, hence the drumbeat in the end.
