Shit.. thats really depressingly bad.. The robotic developement is going to slow! I want to see real AI fast moving around in society fast without being noticed.. like in films! At the rate everything is going now, we wont see any great robotics untill around the year 2500! I´ll have to freeze down my head..

@wolveshockey1993 Pretty far away, considering that for the foreseeable future, actual robots that engage in combat would be extremely complicated and not something that any random person could control from home, not to mention the political, military and legal implications of such an undertaking.

Legs on robots are quite useless. Wheels are so much better, even propellers are more efficient.

Except for things like rough terrain navigation, but I must agree bi-pedal robots have limited practical applications but the ones that mimic for or six legged animal movement are far better at navigating than anything with wheels.

Yeah, I have, and that is the kind of thing I am referring to. The four or six legged robots have amazing nav ability while the bi-peds still cant do more than a brisk walk. Walking on 2 legs is harder than walking on 4 or more.

The main problem with big dog is power, the engine that powers the hydraulics atm makes it sound like an angry weed-wacker. We realy need to re-invent the battery, something with energy density higher than petrol, good efficiency and non-explosive would be nice.

Dude, i need some mechanical help. my robot is up. 18 servo robot. i'm using RCB-3, which means programming how the servos act is a breeze, the thing is, I AM CLUELESS AS OF HOW A ROBOT CAN WALK. please tell me how you did it.

Take a look at your own body, each leg joint is a servo. Thats how i figured it out. EG: Use a servo for the knee, so it will lift up the knee joint, same with thigh, then make the servo spin in the apposite direction to put it down again.

I honestly am curious of why robot's always walk to funny. I'm hoping to start building my own bi pedals after I get familiar with my arduino, but as far as I can tell it should be as fluid as a human's movement if you take your time and set up the right speed ratios.
