  • @7thsonx in my 55 gal tank i have two veil tail angels, one marble and one white, the white angel has had babies for the third time now, the first time she ate them all, second i took them out and they all died, and now idk what to do the third time, should i use a divider and keep them cut off from the mom? or keep them mom with them? what should i do?

  • @ATP6TS Yep....you go to my channel and watch my other video...How to sex Angelfish

  • if they try to attack you how do you change the water

  • i just got a small angel fish and all he does is stay in the top right corner and stares at his reflection, is he sick

  • @people32321 If you just got him he may be in shock...Did you acclimate him slowly? Or if you ph or amonia levels are very different from the water he was in...that would cause him to go into shock. It may take him 3 or 4 days to come out of it...Is he eating? does he have clamped fins? if so he is more than likely sick with a bacterial infection and will need maracyn 1 or 2 or both

  • @X7thSonX sadly he died i think he was scared and he needed a few buddies thanks for the help, you can check out my fish tank at my channel, and nice angels.

  • ..nice..

  • Really nice video. Just two quick questions. A) did the parents eventually eat their young, as mine are still quite protective of theirs, and I'm unsure if I should remove them. And lastly b) what exactly did you feed your babies when they were free swimming? Thanks

  • angel threesome. :D his like the charlie sheen of fish. lol he has two goddess

  • what size tank is this

  • @MannyFresh1x 29 gallon

  • @X7thSonX

just a quick question,do you feed them when they start laying eggs??i wanted to know bcuz i cant find them on the internet...plz reply..plz..btw ..nice angels

  • @X7thSonX Yes I do feed them as my usual routine...But I dont go out of my way to give them an extra feeding while they are spawning...Thanks for the question and the compliment

  • can i keep babies & parent s together?

  • @Grenadethrower11 You can try..Some parents will eat their babies or eggs...If they eat them...they will lay again usually within 2 weeks...give them a tall piece of slate or potted plant to lay their eggsd on....something you can remove from the tank easily...and next time move them to a seperate fish tank and raisethe babies yourself

  • o and if the light is off at night would the angels eat the eggs as i seen her comment about angels getting the taste and egtting a bad habit

  • how do u tell the diffrents female or male

  • got my first wigglers today :D

  • @vett3l0l How did the wigglers do?

  • ours always lay on the filter lol but this time i put a make shift barrier/catcher for the the babies and now their starting to swim around and feeding them baby brine and set up another tank to switch them over to in the next couple of days

  • thats cool ! I raised out at least 20 spawns back in the early 90s and never had them do this

  • My angels laid eggs a few days ago and I was really excited. Then one night they ate all of their eggs. I am sad. I hope they make more eggs and then I will definitely take them out and put them in another tank.

  • @snakehands Did you turn out your light at night time? If so...dont do it...they can not protect what they can not see at night..Other fish will eat them at night time if you turn out your light

  • Comment removed

  • @X7thSonX

I did but we had already put a divider up so the parents were the only fish over there.

  • @X7thSonX To hatch the angelfish eggs artificially is fairly easy and can be accomplished in many different ways, but there are two key ingredients. One is aeration and the other is very clean water. Some breeders use fungicides. Others keep them in the dark. Some do both.

  • @X7thSonX thanks i got my answer

  • @snakehands The exact same thing happened to my baby Angels! Two weeks later they spawned again...and right...I did remove the parent Angels from the tank!

  • how many days take to hacth out from eggs angel fries and angel fish can eat own fries?

  • @dost92111 7 days

Yes some do...if they do you can just pull the babies and raise them yourself in a seperate tank

  • My Angels laid their eggs on my filter pipe... should I turn off the filter so any fry don't fall and get sucked in?

  • @Eat2surf Yes...if you have a second filter hook it up on the other side of the tank to keep the water clean...Next time I would suggest you go buy a piece of long slate or PVC pipe and stick it in at an angle for them to spawn on..or you can buy a large plastic amazon plant from your pet store for them to spawn on...Keep me posted on how they are doing...

  • @X7thSonX .. Yeah.. I've bred Convics and Jack Dempsy Ciclids.. similar stuff.. we just didn't expect them to breed. .. they are the only 2 Angels in a big community tank and I guess we got lucky with a breeding pair. This batch is done. They didn't defend well enough... they went away for 2 minutes and almost all of the viable eggs are gone. I dug out and dusted off a second filter and got it in after the fact... and I have some pvc and part of a pot. Thanks for your help!

  • nice video man. Thanks for posting. Im trying it myself now with limited but educational success...

  • @stephenramsden Your very welcome...Gl ..let me know if I can be of help to you

    Kenneth

  • i have just discovered that my angelfish eggs have hatched which they never have b4, do you think it would be a good idea if i take the other fish out of the tank and leave the angels in they are bein very protective but i dont want the babies to get eaten wen they are free swimming and i have to massive silver dollers in the tank aswell? please help

  • @nadsjaffa You can remove most of them if ya like but I have found it is not necessary...if they manage to catch any of the babies it is usually deformed or under devloped ones( problem children) But if you taken t hem out leave at least one for the parents to fight off..it strengthens their maternal bonds and they are less likely to eating them themselves

  • It's fun watching them raise their fry. The instincts they have are amazing. They get so agressive too.

  • so you can keep both parents inside the tank?

and how can u tell the sex?

  • You and me will most defently be in touch. Please keep posting those wonderful vids

  • cool vid, thanks for sharing..

  • is it normal for the adults to eat their babies?...if it is are they gonna eat all of them?...i took the parents and away...is that fine??..

  • I have found that most will be good parents...but they will eat their eggs or young if they think they are in danger...strange I know. And once that happens they develop a taste for them..after that you might as well get rid of them..I have never been able to break them of that habit once they start. I just end up getting me another pair.

  • @X7thSonX That's just too funny.

But isnt it hard having hundreds of angel fish to feed later?

What do you do with all of them?

  • @HopesCharm

naw...I just put extra food in but I do sort them out according to size as they grow older ...bigger ones get sold first...

I usually sell them on our local yahoo group for .25 each when they are still small...whats left I sell to a local pet store here

  • So it is best to try not going over to the tank so much and staring in closely when they are with their young or eggs...just watch them from across the room so they dont feel threatened

But that is a very good question, my friend...thanks for asking it.

  • could u put a sponge under the intake hose?

  • Yes you can do that.

  • two females and a male ??? that's amazing

  • Yes that batch and several others went on to be sold at a local pet store...I have since lost the female and traded the male for a new pair. I would put a breeder net under the intake hose of the filter to make sure the babies dont get sucked up after they become free-swimming though

  • hi i have a pair and they have bred twice but the first time they bred i had to leave so the babies died but this time im here and was wondering if the babies survived in the setup in this vid. in my tank its just the two angels with 30Gal and air stone and a side filter it is also all lived plants none of which are wide leafed. do you think the babies will be fine?

  • HI

It depends on how you want to do it...I dont have patience to wait for them to grow so I always buy adults and pair them up...I would wait though till you know for sure your aq. is cycled...best not to gamble with their little lives. I would suggest cycling with goldfish then giving them away after the aq is cycled...Or keep them..I have a Butterfly Koi in with mine right now.

  • nice!! and you uploaded this on my b-day!!! one thing, since you have angelfish, and succesul breeding, and actually reply, could you help me with getting/ having angelfish?? my 29G is cycling right now, should i get a pair? or more?and should i get the young ones at my local fish store? or petsmart( thye're almost babies!!)

  • would convict cichlids be ok with angels

  • I would think so...but I could not be sure since I have never had any Convicts...they dont appeal to me...

  • hey is there anyway you can sell me some angel fish i just love angel fish i want to get into the hobby and even try breeding them i live in tampa florida if there is any way i can get some of your angels let me know plz thank you

  • Hi there...I dont have any right now...my big female died...and so I just traded my big male in for a smaller pair...so right now they are still just a little too young to spawn but I got my fingers crossed for the near future

  • is it ok to keep 2 angelfish in a bottle of water next 2 the radiator and shake it once in a while, ive been told this is perfectly fine.

  • NO! Absolutely Not!!! Thats is Extremely cruel

  • hey im only joking, lol, can i keep angel fish and discus fish together? i dont think u can but let me know please, u sound like you know ur stuff. im getting a new tank but dont know which fish to get.

  • Yes you can... I have done it...

    Kenneth

  • Nice video...

How old are these fishes? Parents?

  • I had the female for about 3-4 years...the male she was last paired up with in this video I have had him for about 8months - 1 year...She just died a couple weeks ago...She had three different mates that she spawned with...she out lived the first two

  • is a 15 gal tank ok for 2 angelfish

  • Depends on how big the fish are...If they are bigger than a half dollar they might be ok for a bit but I would suggest getting a bigger tank for them...would you want to be cramped into a 15 gal for the rest of your life if you was a big fish?

  • You seem to know a lot about angel fish and you really care for them.Keep it up dude.

  • Thank you but unfortunately I just lost my female Silver veil tail featured in this video just last week...She was a gorgeous fish...Im looking for just the right female t o replace her with

  • Hello everyone

Just wanted to take a minute to post a message saying Good bye t o my silver veil tail in this video...She died a few minutes ago..She had been ill for a week..and despite my best efforts I was unable to save her...But she produced thousands of babies during the all the years that I had her...She was the prettiest angelfish I have ever owned to date...

I will miss seeing her free-flowing long fins swimming around the tank as she hogged all the blood worms from her mate

    Kenneth

  • Sorry man, its a terrible thing, i was really sad when my oscar died

  • Silver dollar size...

  • how big do angels have to be to mate they had a threesome lol nice fishes!

  • nice fry m8 keep the vids comeing

  • u cant reali m8 its nearly imposible the best way is to wach them spawn the male will have longer more thiner tube under its belly and the female will have a more wider and blunter breeding tube

  • what an education i m getting here,,,thanks.

  • Its easy...there are three bottom hanging fins on an angel..two in the front and one in the back....You want to look at them from the side view...one sex has a gradual angled slope from the two fins in the front that hang down to the bottom back fin...the other is almost Horizontal (almost straight across) from the two fins that hang down in the front to the bottom back fin...If you are still confused...just google..."how to sex Angelfish"

  • is that definate or not ?

  • nice angelfish fry and dad and moms ...i have many angelfish fry i divided them into another tank and now i have also babies with their parents and i'll take some picture soon

  • take a water sample to any pet store and tell them you need to have it checked...Almost all pet stores will do it for you for free...Along with testing the PH level of your water...Or you can buy a kit for either or both, at any pet store...very easy to do..

  • I have 6 in a 20 gallon tank and later 1 die and 1 month later their is another one die so what can I do to make them stop dieing is it from the water or the fish

  • Did you check your ammonia levels? With that many fish in such a small tank..the ammonia is probably what is killing them...

  • how can you check ammonia

  • how did the fry turn out

  • Fine, I took them and sold t hem to local pet store

  • how do you feed them? you feed the parents right? Do the parents feed the fry?

  • I put in 3 generous pinches of First Bites baby fish food and also give them 1 frozen baby brine shrimp compartment each day...

I feed the adults a pinch of regular flake food once a day as usual.
