I don't think so, even hot charges of .44 Magnum are less powerful than the .50 AE, the .50 AE is easily the most powerful of the this three calibers, end of story... And for all the people that think the Desert Eagle is crap, go back to homework! DE is a top quality pistol, built like a tank, all the stories about jamming, unreliable and shit like that are a stupid legend... The DE is one of the most accurate pistol ever, reliable like a revolver, always fun to shoot... DE's haters are wrong...

@PlayfulRobinho Exactly, if you are able to hold the pistol with the right grip and stance, the DE will shoot fantastically, without jams and much recoil... I usually shoot my IMI .50 AE with a Ruger Super Redhawk .454 Casull with a 7.5 barrel, and i assure you that the Ruger has way more recoil, it hurts a bit... All the bad stories about the DE are simply wrong, as i say before, the DE is a top quality semi-auto, built like a tank, amazingly accurate and realiable, period...

@Elpenon when comparing muzzle energy, the .44 Mag with a 240 gr. bullet will have perhaps an average of around 1000 ft/lbs. while the .50 AE with a 300 gr. bullet will have something more like 1450 ft/lbs. Of course this will vary depending on the specific ammo chosen - these are average values based on various loads.

Just friendly advice...when you shoot next time, try keeping the arm that holds the gun as straight as possible, that's your anchor. This will reduce recoil.

personally I like the versatility of the .357 over any other weapon here. Its the easiest to fire of the three, has little kick, but more than enough stopping power. And ammunition is fairly inexpensive. The .44 is awesome but each shot is like a mini shock to the system. Not too many people can fire them rapidly. I can empty a .357 in just a few seconds. The Desert Eagle is an amazing pistol, but not very practical... and up here in Canada the ammo is pretty pricey... Plus the kick on one!
